Chromecast Streaming Media PLayer was excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chromecast Streaming Media Player I purchased from Best Buy has proven to be an excellent means for streaming a multitude of applications from my mobile phone, tablet, and PC directly to any TV in my house. It is very easy to use. Considering the inexpensive price of this product I have also purchased a second one to handle TV's located in second floor of my home.

Awesome product for the price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome product, easy to use and easy to install. I bought this primarily for Netflix use. I don't watch too much Netflix but like to have the option to watch on another television besides my living room. Very easy to set up and use the apps once downloaded. There is a little lag time when watching YouTube videos but nothing too bad. Takes a few seconds when pausing Netflix videos, but that's expected while going through your wifi. I like how it's hidden away in the back of the television and all self contained right there. No visible wires sticking out everywhere. Comes with a power adapter if you don't have a USB port on your tv and a extender if you have poor wifi reception. I got away without using the extender and my television is in the far corner of my house away from the wifi router.

Awesome little gadget...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With Chromecast I can stream not just content from apps like YouTube, HBOGo, Pandora, Netflix, Hulu, etc, but video content from web pages/Facebook (using an Android device running a Google Chrome browser). I can take it with me when I travel. plug it into the hotel TV (HDMI) and connect it to their WiFi network to stream just as I would at home. Love it. I DO wish they'd include more apps, like Spotify and more games, but overall it's great for the price.

Netflix on my TV ez-peazy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great, but yesterday while watching MI-Ghost Protocol, I got a call on my cell, which is the remote. Chromecast would not pause so i could answer the call. Normally my Galaxy S4 does a great job as the remote. Not sure what the prob was, but it's back to normal now. $35 and 3 months free Netflix. I can't really complain!

Very exciting.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product. I love being able to finally watch youtube on my tv. It very rarley needs to buffer and is very reliable. The only trouble I am having is with the screen mirroring but that is still in beta. It works but sometimes may just stop unexpectedly.

Make your TV smart for a great price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the quickest, easiest and affordable way to turn your TV into a smart TV. Being able to cast from most entertainment apps is something that I have been wanting for a while now. I came very close to buying devices like Roku. But once I heard of ChromeCast, and especially it's very reasonable price, I was sold. It has been a great experience, with very minor drawbacks. Overall I'm very happy with this product, and have even purchased one for a family member. :)

Great for viewing movies on big screen TV.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great buy for the price. The watching experience varies between good and excellent, depending on the speed of the wireless network and Netflix/Youtube traffic. The main problem I find with Chromecast is that the smartphone has trouble with controlling the movies that are streamed from Netflix. It's hard to pause, resume or rewind. Also, it appears that Chromecast does not support the streaming of one's own content. I still haven't been able to figure out how to show my own movies and pictures that are stored in my computer or smartphone. Let's hope that Google soon decides to support these features, and that they publish a detailed user manual online.

Q: QuestionDoes it work in an HDTV that is not a Smart TV (doesn´t have wifi connection)
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes. This will work on any TV with HDMI inputs. The Chromecast has built in wireless so the TV does not have to have it.

Q: Questionwhat is the monthly fee, if any???
Asked by hondajim.
- A:Answer No monthly fee. It just connects anything you are watching on computer, ipad or smartphone and streams to tv.

Q: QuestionDownload speed for streamingBecause of my distance from a central station, my Internet connection lets me download at a max speed of 1.5 Mbps, with an occasional 170 Mbps. Is that fast enough to stream movies or HBO? If Chromecast is plugged into the computer via HDMI, is the download stored in the unit? Or is it stored anywhere else, or do I have to watch the streaming movie or show as it is being streamed? Guess I am not clear on how Chromecast works.
Asked by Cloverdavid.
- A:Answer You will need a faster/better internet speed to reduce the buffering that can happen when you watch. You don't connect the Chromecast to your PC. It is connected to your TV and you download the app 'chromecast' from the play store or itunes store for FREE. Below is taken from: http://www.tomsguide.com/us/what-is-google-chromecast,news-17637.html Chromecast is a device that you plug into your TV's HDMI port, powered by a USB cable (included). Using your smartphone or computer as a remote control, you can use Chromecast to access video content from Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, the Google Play Store and other services.

Q: QuestionWhat if both HMDI slots are already taken? :-(Must this go in the HDMI slot? I have Comcast, which takes up one HDMI, then Roku-which is taking up the other HDMI. I'm thinking of trying Chromecast-which appears to take HMDI (Hence the name! LOL!) My TV has only two HMDI slots, so is there anything I cn do?
Asked by Medlaw.
- A:Answer Yes, this device does require access to an HDMI slot and works kind of similar to your Roku, but definitely not the same. We had that same problem with only two HDMI slots, and it was a pain to get behind the TV to switch them out as needed, so we bought and HDMI extender cable and now just simply plug-in the needed device without moving or trying to find the slot on the back of the TV. The extension cable sits just on the shelf under the TV and we plug-n-play! And FYI, the Chromecast does also require power when in use, so you will need an available power outlet as well.

Q: QuestionCan Chromecast be used as a general PC-to-TV device? Can Chromecast be used to simply duplicate my PC's screen on the TV, independent of any apps or browser? That is, can I see on TV whatever I am doing on my PC, say work on a Word doc or Excel spreadsheet, browse internet with Firefox, etc...? If not, do you know of any device that will do that?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes it can! You can do this by installing the Google cast extension to your Chromecast web browser on the computer you would like to use this on. There's a feature that let's you cast your entire computer screen to the Chromecast. This feature is still in BETA (trial/test) mode so you may run into some bugs and expect some lag. I was using this feature the other day to share a Powerpoint presentation.

Q: QuestionDoes Chromecast stream Amazon Prime?
Asked by eefacm.
- A:Answer No, chromecast does not stream amazon prime directly from the app such as youtube or netflix. But you can stream amazon prime by streaming the Google chrome tab on your laptop or pc. Not sure if quality is any good if done that way but you can try and see for yourself.

Q: QuestionCan I stream games on ESPN3?Occasionally my favorite sports team's games will be broadcast on ESPN3-- which is on ESPN.com instead of TV, would I be able to play these games on my TV using Chromecast?
Asked by KathyK.
- A:Answer Yes you can. Just go the web through the google chrome - espn3 and you will see the icon for the chrome cast. Actually I just tried before writing this answer. Good luck.

Q: QuestionWhat is little pushbutton for at end of device?
Asked by dsinned.
- A:Answer That button is used to factory reset the Chromecast. If you ever experience issues with the Chromecast connecting, you would use that button during the troubleshooting process. I've never had to use it, but I was curious what is was for as well, so I investigated.
