Keep Dreaming , Dream with your open eyes
|Posted .The VR set is amazing and is a lot of fun. It works perfectly with my Samsung S8 and has a decent set of apps, specially made for daydream. I was amazed to see app through which you can see your local videos in VR , the immersive view, and 360 Videos are just out of the world. The only problem i am facing is- all the videos keep on moving left and i have to recenter them all the time. Thankyou Bestbuy for getting me such a perfect product at such a decent price.

Mobile VR done right; just needs more games
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis 2017 Daydream View is the best mobile VR hardware. The headset looks like something you'd want to wear, and is extremely comfortable. You can also insert your phone with its case still attached (as long as it isn't super bulky), while the remote controller adds fun ways to interact. Compared to last year's model, the field of view is noticeably wider and the top strap holds the headset in place better. And, unlike the Gear VR, you don't need a Samsung phone to use this headset. Recent flagships from Google, LG, Motorola, Asus, Huawei, and ZTE – as well as Samsung – all now work with Daydream. Games are the only key advantage for the Gear VR. Daydream's library has improved in the last year, but it isn't as stacked as the Gear's, which Oculus has been gradually building since 2014. Before investing in mobile VR today, though, keep in mind that HTC and Lenovo have standalone VR headsets in the pipeline that a) run the Daydream platform, and b) have full 6-degree positional tracking. Oculus also has a standalone headset (without 6DOF tracking) coming next year, running the same platform as Gear VR. Both, however, will cost more than Daydream's $99.

Great mobile VR system with only one problem...
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis was the third mobile VR system I've purchased. The first was a simple cardboard viewer that I got just to see how it works. The second was a slightly better cheap plastic unit which was built so badly that I returned it and purchased this. Having seen this range of options, I have to say that the higher end Daydream headset really is the only one that I'd recommend for someone who actually wants to make extensive use of mobile based VR. The optics, weight, and overall comfort are so much better than the cheaper options that it's hard to see how you'd make do with anything less, and the included controller is pretty much a must-have if you want to get anything close to what you can get with a Vive or Rift. And unlike many other higher end offerings, the design of the Daydream View is such that it can accommodate a wide arrange of different phones without needing any awkward adapters, frames, or calibration sheets. Unfortunately, there is a caveat. Namely, this excellent headset that's been built for versatility can only support about half a dozen different handsets at the moment. While you can use it as a cardboard viewer without much difficulty, all of the most impressive features of the View such as the automatic adjustment, controller support, and app library will only work if you have a daydream enabled phone. So if you do have one of those, this really should be the first and probably only one you look at. Otherwise, you'll need to look elsewhere for something based around the Cardboard ecosystem instead.

Good while support last

Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Before Google ended support for the Daydream headset I had a awesome time with it considering I had the current Pixel phone with the specs needed to run certain games I had no problem with the setup. Only thing I would complain is how the phone gets really hot for just 15 minutes of playing.

An affordable intro to VR
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe Daydream View is a great way to get your feet wet in VR. It offers great quality and comfort while still being quite affordable. Not all phones are compatible so research first before buying. I use it with the ZTE Axon 7 phone and it works great. I have not tried other VR units to compare with this so my experience is limited. My main use for this is watching Netflix or digital copies of movies. There are good games available also and those are very immersive. I have not felt any motion sickness but after prolonged use I do experience a small amount of eye strain. The included controller is very easy to use and a must for controlling what you see and interacting with content. The controller has very convenient volume controls which is very helpful, as well. The headset is very comfortable. The top strap is removable but I found it is much more comfortable with it on. This 2017 model has a heat sink for your phone which I feel is a must. After prolonged use your phone will get quite hot. The only negative I have experienced is occasionally I notice the view will slowly drift off to one side. I don't know if this is unique to this product or inherent to all VR at this point. Conveniently the controller has a way to recenter the screen if this ever happens. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a Daydream compatible phone.

3.5 Stars - Fitment is wonky, overheats
|Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendI give it a 3.5, but I won't rate it at 4 stars because it's not good enough to allow the extra half for display purposes. This is a great headset... When it sits on your face properly. With the head strap being at the top of the "goggles," it tends to pull the bottom of the headset of your nose, throwing of the focus and thus breaking the experience. I found myself constantly adjusting the headset to keep the focus, often having to push and hold the bottom to prevent the picture from washing out. Not having to adjust the pupillary distance is nice, but the flat lenses mean only what's right in front of you is in focus... You can't dart your eyes around without looking at blurred images. The overheating was annoying too.. couldn't play a game or watch a movie for more than an hour before things started stuttering. I have a Pixel 2 XL... You'd think Google'd have it worked out to prevent that on their flagship phone. My final gripe is that fact that you can't view Cardboard content without hacks... C'mon Google... Who's in charge of making the stupid decisions? Why alienate the premium devices from the majority of content, in a market you created? This headset is great overall in the ergonomics, premium feel, and image quality, but several of the design decisions range from "SMH" all the way up to "WT*, Over?". If you just plan to live in the Daydream marketplace, it's plenty adequate, but the price should be closer to $50, definitely not $100. I'm mulling over returning it and waiting for a better standalone product.

Although I am sad that Google is no longer supporting Daydream, the possibility of what VR can bring to the world got me exciting and this was definitely a huge stepping stone towards that possibility.

Q: QuestionCan you watch movies and sports games with these ? If so what I have to do ? When I go on a plane can they be used to watch movies?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Google Play movies, yes. It's actually quite nice - I use it to watch movies in bed at night while my wife's sleeping. You can be in a dark room without disturbing anyone, and it's like you're looking at a 200" television screen. You can size the screen up and down to a comfortable size. You "lock" the screen in virtual space where it's easy to see when you rest your head. Once "locked", you can turn your head to the side and not see it. For example, you'd "lock" the screen in front of you. If you turn around, the screen will be as though it's behind your head. As you turn, the sound shifts from left to right as well. I like it, and the video quality and picture are quite good. Two things - you have to have a "Daydream ready" phone (Google Pixel, Pixel 2, etc.), and have it charged up, as the Daydream App uses a lot of power. Also be sure to use nice headphones (I use bluetooth over-ear headphones). Movies can be streamed, or you can download them to your phone for offline viewing on a plane. You DO have to download them to your phone ahead of time, and have storage to hold them, of course. One thing to consider is that with the DayDream and headphones, you really are isolated. If someone tries to get your attention, they'll have to touch you, since you can't see or hear what's going on around you. Can't speak to sports games - you'd have to google around and see if there's a VR app for that.

Q: QuestionDoes the iPhone 7 work with this?
Asked by Swifty.
- A:Answer You can use the glass and have basic VR experience but you cannot use the controller or daydream system. Only less than 10 phones can use the system, which is fantastic. Btw, iphone 7’s screen is small, you may not see the whole 105 degree view.
