Why I'll never buy a Sonos again
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Google is finally realizing that one of the biggest reasons people buy a smart speaker is to be... a speaker. First generation Google Home was a great smart device and a mediocre speaker. Now with the Nest Audio we finally have an incredible Google Assistant device with an incredible speaker. I love the sound it produces. I love how loud it gets. I love the look of it. I love how sensitive the microphones are. I LOVE the price. I was on the fence about buying another Sonos One speaker, but I'm glad I waited because this is half the price, sounds just as good, and is a way better smart speaker. Also for some insane reason you still can't cast music to Sonos. Good riddance Sonos, hello Nest Audio.

Great looking with good sound + The Assistant
|Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Compact smart speaker sounds great for its size. Huge improvement over original Google Home. Great looking too. I bought two a paired them as a stereo set which works very well. I have them in a rather open space so I don't think one on its own would be great sound for the whole room. However, with two of them, it works well. These aren't going to blow your mind or produce massively loud volume. More like gentle giants (not physically).

Pleasantly Surprised!

Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Purchased the speaker primarily to use in my bedroom with my iPad. The sound was so good looks lie I will need to purchase a 2nd speaker to acquire a balanced sound. Which you can't get when the nest is paired with a Google Mini. One review called it the sweet spot between price and quality! Exactly right in my view.

Excellent sound/value ratio

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I purchased two of these new Nest Audios to replace an existing original Google Home, and a Google Home Mini, both located in different rooms in the house. The overall sound quality is much better than both outgoing speakers and I'm very pleased with how they round out my whole home setup, which now consists of these two Nest Audios, plus a Google Home Max, two Home Minis, and a Home Hub. These are the perfect middle ground between the Mini and the Max. Direct comparison to the older Google Home, these sound much more neutral and balanced, it's not trying to overdo anything and just overall pleasing to listen to. I would like if it were a tad louder, but for the price it's solid.

Very nice sound, and controls my smart devices.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I bought two. Initially I purchased the Nest Mini. Great sound in itself for the size. With the mini I purchased two C by GE smart lights. I put one in corner that is out of the way. The light paired easily after downloading Google Home app and the C by GE app. I have since moved those two items to my bedroom. The two Nest Audio are now in the living room. I previously transferred my music library to my phone, about 6000 songs. I downloaded the Hi-cast app. After pairing the two Nest Audios it is easy to send the music from my phone to these two speakers, perfect stereo sound. Of course, you can still ask about the weather, or just about anything I imagine. Though I haven't yet figured out out to change from metrics to feet. Such as asking how tall is Mount Everest. The answer was provided in meters.

Great speakers but need Chromecast integration.
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The speakers by themselves are an outstanding product. I was mostly surprised by the sheer weight. They feel very high quality, they look excellent and the sound quality is great. They outperform in all of the advertised areas and integrate very well in my Google smart home. My only complaint is that I purchased two of these to use as a speaker pair for an older common area tv that I use the latest Chromecast with Google TV on. I read an article somewhere that Google was working on a direct integration between these speakers and the Chromecast that would allow them to be used as the default audio device and eliminate audio delay. Unfortunately, this hasn't happened yet and it seems the articles were based on unreleased promotional material. As it stands now, I can Bluetooth pair the speakers to the Chromecast but the audio delay with video makes them unusable for this purpose. My fault for expecting unreleased features from Google but this would really be a nice feature to have and I'm not alone in this request.

Great smart speaker
|Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I have owned our Google smart speaker for about a month, but delayed its set up due to home renovations. This is my first smart speaker and really enjoy using it around the home. I have it linked with my smart switches, Nest thermostat and smart light bulbs, and it works seamlessly with all of them. Google Home app is quite intuitive and aids in its usage. I suspect it'll take some time to get used to all of its functionalities and adjust to the responses. So far, it has worked out pretty well for us.

Q: QuestionWhat are the main differences between this and the nest mini? Do I need a nest audio in order to use the broadcast option?
Asked by James.
- A:Answer Aside from the big size difference, Nest Audio Speaker's sound is clearer, fuller, and more natural. As good as the sound is on the Nest Mini, it just won’t compare to the Nest Audio Speaker because of its 75 mm woofer and 19 mm tweeter. You can check technical specifications of both devices here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7072284 Also, you can broadcasting messages on all of your Google Nest or Home devices.
