I'm enjoying it so much!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the combo with the keyboard on sale. I love it for a replacement for a laptop. It's a great 2 in 1 option.

Great tablet and laptop replacement
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned this device for about two weeks now and I really enjoy the experience that it brings. I have the core m3 version. Pros: 1) Pretty lightweight 2) Snappy due to recent updates, not seeing the lag that initial reviewers had mentioned upon initial release. 3) Screen is very bright and is great for watching videos. 4) Can install some android apps to increase functionality 5) Battery life is very good usually around 7-10 hours depending on type of usage. 6) Great alternative to the iPad Pro. 7) Has a full desktop browser instead of the mobile browsers. (this is a really important feature to me if this is going to be my computer replacement because some webpages don't load correctly on mobile) 8) Build quality feels really nice. 9) the keyboard and pen feel really nice and are great items to accompany this item. Cons: 1) chrome os is still a bit clunky to use. 2) no where to conveniently store the pen. 3) using the google keyboard folio takes a little getting use to all of the different combinations that it can be folded. Overall, its a great laptop/tablet for travel if you need a full desktop browser and need something for watching videos and taking care of some light work.

Almost there (From a Professional Developer)
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From a build quality standpoint.. It rocks.. Speakers are nice. The ChromeOS + Android Play store is nice. The 799.00 model is the way to go providing you don't need to download a lot of media content). The screen is very impressive and runs smooth. These are the good points. Battery life is good as well. It does run a little warm after a while but if you have it docked with keyboard, you should be fine. The keyboard is impressive (but $200.00 .. -Really Google !!) Now from a Developer Standpoint: I actually purchased the device for he ability to run Linux (for development). I wanted the best of both worlds, tablet and laptop capability. My development tools ran decent (Visual Studio Code). Postgres SQL etc.... The only issue is that when developing applications locally they run fine, except for when you try to transfer them to another environment, that's when you have issues. Also some other very important development quirks existed in regards o Javascript developemnt (Reactjs and Redux) in particular & Debugging tools not performing properly inside of VS Code. So if you are looking to use the device for development, the experience is "Sub Par" .. Not quite there. So for an overall experience in terms of using it for a good laptop/table hybrid (it's fine..) , It performs as expected. To be honest, I actually liked it so much that I was thinking about re-purchasing it again and just do development through a remote desktop or citrix session and enjoy it for all of the other benefits an features.

Awesome chromebook
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Too expensive for the spec they offer. But the tablet itself is very good. Screen is not as bright as pixel book but colors are punchier in slate. M3 is adequate for browsing and streaming videos. Battery lasts long time compared to Samsung chromebook pro. No noticeable lag when I compare this tablet to samsung chromebook pro. One downside is that this has no headphone Jack nor micro sd slot. Also the slate keyboard is only good in flat surfaces. Anyway, I am generally happy with this product.

Really good.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a smaller screen to switch from my 15 in. Acer Chromebook and gave this little machine a try. I bought the special bundle with keyboard and stylus included and it's worth every cent. The screen is beautiful, speakers are a big upgrade from my previous Chromebook and the tablet functionality is great. Applications and websites load fast and most games run smoothly. Plus, it has access to the Android and Linux ecosystems as well.

Better than an iPad
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are desktop PCs, Windows laptops, a Chromebook, an iPad mini, and some android tablets in my house. None of them are as versatile as the Pixel Slate (paired with the optional Brydge keyboard.) It covers 95% of what I would use a Windows computer for in a highly portable package. It's very fast. It doesn't need daily virus updates. The screen is plenty bright. The speakers are easily the best I've heard in a tablet or laptop. So what's the problem? I didn't discover this until after the return period expired, but this unit won't turn on unless the power adapter is plugged in. It's not a battery issue...it's fully charged and runs fine for hours unplugged. It just needs the power adapter plugged in to "jump start" it. This issue isn't happening on all units, just some. I'm going to contact Google for an RMA. It's a shame, but it happens. I'd give this 5 stars otherwise.

Great 2-1 Chromebook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the M3 model when it was on sale. It runs smoothly with half a dozen tabs open. The screen and speakers are all excellent. The form factor is slim and sleek. The battery lasts as expected. It's heavier than I thought or hoped, and attracts fingerprints. A stand like the one on the Surface would've been nice especially its weight makes it less comfortable to hold by hand. The cameras work, but nothing to write home about. For any productivity tasks, a keyboard is highly recommended (the couple popular keyboard options would also solve the stand problem).

Q: QuestionI understand the pixel slate was released in late 2018. A lot of the reviews are dated shortly thereafter, in which the reviewers complained of software problems. My question- have those problems since been mitigated by software updates?
Asked by 2020updatedreviewneeded.
- A:Answer The problem is early software issues combined with the Celeron processors. I was a Microsoft Surface fanboy for like 5 years. I am also a Google Nexus/Pixel fan, so I decided to try out the slate (m3). I literally sold my entire Microsoft setup and replace it with ChromeOS setup. The tablet hybrid is the perfect combination for me and what I do. My job consist of managing a lot of PDFs and reading research articles. The pen allows for annotations with apps like squid and the high resolution screen makes pictures and texts look amazing. I have a 32 inch monitor connected via adapter. So, it's basically my desktop station as well. The overall performance is great, now, is it like the apple iPad? Definitely not that smooth, but it stills runs great and integrates the Google experience. I guess if you want it as a tablet, hold off because CES showcased new 10 in screen chrome tablets. But, if you're interested in a laptop style device that can also work as a tablet. It is a great product. No regret at all.

Q: QuestionDoes this have an sd or micro sd slot to add storage?
Asked by MTandiZ.
- A:Answer Unfortunately it has neither. It does have two USB-C connections. So you can use a USB-C flash drive with it, though.

Q: QuestionDoes the tablet connect to a pixel cellphone? Such as email and transferring pictures from one to the other automatically?
Asked by Dee.
- A:Answer Yes it does.

Q: QuestionDo I have to buy the keyboard, pen and cover separately? Or is it included when I make this purchase?
Asked by E.
- A:Answer Unless you are purchasing some sort of bundle, the Slate is a separate purchase from any covers and pens. Although it is recommended that you get some sort of keyboard cover or bluetooth keyboard to use with the slate, the pen and keyboard are optional, you could get by with touch and the on screen keyboard.

Q: QuestionWhat is the battery life? Can I get on a wait list?? What is anticipated release date?

Q: QuestionCan this be connected to a desktop monitor.? Via Bluetooth or hardwired? How long is this device updated? What is the 2 in 1 mean? Can this be Bluetooth connected to a full size keyboard? Can zoom app be used?
Asked by Char.
- A:Answer You can connect a desktop monitor to Pixel Slate via a USB-C to HDMI cable, but please check the compatibility of your desktop monitor with Pixel Slate. Pixel Slate is planned to receive Auto updates until June, 2026. Pixel Slate can be used as as tablet or as a laptop when paired with Pixel Slate Keyboard (sold separately). You may connect an external keyboard via a USB-C adapter. You can use the Android version of Zoom app by downloading it from Google Play Store.
