Best value for great performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since this mesh-network product was lower priced than the other three major-brand competitors, i researched user comments for this and the other three. What I found out was most users were very happy with this choice, so I made the plunge. I can say, without a doubt, I have been extremely pleased with my decision. The installation was incredibly easy and my network has never performed better. I installed a three-pack to cover our 4,000 sq ft home and, finally, our printers don't drop off the network every other day, as they did before with a single router. We're very happy.

Works great!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this single pack to see how the router worked and figured if it worked out well, I’d buy another to mesh. I replaced a Linksys ac1750 with this and the difference is night/day. Speeds and coverage are better with just 1, so I’ll be back to purchase another for our family room area downstairs. The app is easy to use and setup was a breeze. I can’t recommend enough over traditional routers and bulky equipment.

Stronger WiFi Signal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My WiFi was weak in the basement and after I remodeled it and added a suspended ceiling the signal was weaker. Adding 3 mesh units gave me a stronger signal throughout the house. Now my WiFi treadmill connects, my electric smart meter has not lost its connection, the ring doorbell and arlo cameras have better reception. I connected one unit near my router, one in the dining room, and the third is central in the basement. I don’t need all the features like turning WiFi off at dinner time but I’m sure families will use it. Photos of my treadmill and a basement location using a neat device to hold it on the wall. Set up was rap and intuitive.

Awesome Mesh WiFi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a 3600 ft.² two-story house. I had in Netgear nighthawk router with an extender which was giving me a decent service until last night when the signal on the 2.4 channel dropped to very low speed. 5.0 was still giving good download speed but since over router set up is on the second floor on one side of the house and over TV and other entertainment stuff sits in the downstairs living room on the other side of the house, so 5.0 was undetected that far from the router. After tweaking the netgear for a couple hours in the morning, I gave up and started searching for the mesh Wi-Fi routers. I decided on google Wi-Fi as it is half the price of eero and has very good reviews. This system is very easy to setup about 20-30 minutes for all 3 routers. The only time-consuming stuff is adding all the smart devices to the system call mom all the iPads, mobile phones, Garage door opener, security cameras, music system, game system, nest thermostats, solar system and other IOT devices. The only thing I will encourage anyone to do is have some patience. Even the App also encourages “you” to be patient. If you follow the instructions in the Google Wifi app set up as a breeze. I hope this review helps you deciding which Wi-Fi mesh router system you are going to buy and help you set up the system. As you can see from my photographs the speed is increased to triple digits. I’m still not getting 200 Mbps which my connection is and I think my Modem is very old. I am consistently getting 110-135 Mbps all over the house and even in Garage and the backyard.

Google WiFi is the best WiFi system to buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a78 year old grandmother and when I went to Best Buy I had no idea what kind of WiFi system I was going to buy. I had Comcast and it didn't cover my whole house. So when I got to Best Buy I told the guy at the door what I needed. The man he hooked me up with suggested for me to buy the Google WiFi. It is the best investment I ever made. I hooked it up myself!! You can not imagine my excitement when Google came on to welcome me. It has worked perfectly ever since!!

Extend your Wi-fi footprint
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Google Wi-fi Mesh system to extend my Wi-fi coverage across my 2500 square foot home and also to avail Wi-fi to me while out in my yard and outbuildings. The system is just as easy as unpacking the components and plugging them in. The easy to use Google Wi-fi app for iOS explains each step in detail. The first step is to connect the first Google Wi-fi puck directly to your router via ethernet cable and then to add each of the next 2 pucks up to 2 rooms away from the original. There is a simple graphical user interface on the app to assist you in the set up process. Once installed you can monitor the system from anywhere. The app has a "network check" mode which will give you an option to check three aspects of your system... • Internet speed to your home • Mesh connection quality between points • Wi-Fi connection quality to all devices throughout your home I rearranged my system several times to experiment with the quality to devices at different distances. Once my coverage was how I wanted it, I left it like it was and it has remained connected with great throughput ever since! Simple as that! For anyone who wants to increase the size of their Wi-Fi footprint with a simple yet elegant solution, this is the product to get!

Changed how we use our wi fi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product. Our service providers combo unit would constantly cycle out and need to be reset. ALWAYS when we needed it most. We switched out to a surfboard and a router a few years back and although it helped, the router wouldn’t cover the whole house and the kids gaming would hog the bandwidth while we were adulting with work or trying to stream movies. Once we upgraded to a 4K tv, something had to change because the old set up was not cutting the muster. After looking around for a solution, the friendly rep at my local Best Buy turned me on to this system. After a 20 minute set up, on Xmas morning, we were running devices, streaming movies, and playing games at the same time without an issue. After a week, the system improved dramatically and it seems as though I get better and more consistent speeds. I enabled Wifi calls through the cell phones as well and this system will move your phone from one to the other as you move around the house. Currently have 15 active devices on it and not a single dropped call, skipped movie, or lagging game. With the ability to prioritize devices and even shut off specific devices, I feel like I am in control of the network. It’s only been a month but we haven’t had an issue and I don’t feel like I’m going to. These things just work like you’d expect.

Great Mesh Wifi System!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an old wifi router go out on me recently and researched the new Mesh technology systems that have come out. I ended up going with this system as I have Nest and Google products in my house already and this would work seamlessly with those. Overall this product has been fantastic! Setup was very easy (start with main then add satellites) and while the 3-pack may have been overkill for my 2000 sq ft ranch I know I have great coverage. Surprisingly I get wifi out in my hammock that is about 50-60 feet away from my home! In my time owning this I have never had an issue with signal drop outs and anytime my ISP has an issue my system is first to know. I can then reset my wifi from my phone and it picks up right away and I am back online Highly recommended for anyone wanting a solid Mesh wifi system, especially if you already have Nest or Google products in your home

Q: QuestionWhat is needed for the google wifi to work? What is the monthly fee?
Asked by Lumpy.
- A:Answer You still need to buy high speed internet from the local ISP of your choice so the monthly fee I believe you are asking about is the fee for internet access and that is paid to whatever internet service provider you are already using. This device is simply a new wireless router made by Google that you use with your existing modem and existing internet service (Google or otherwise) to spread your wifi signal evenly throughout your house. They are not selling the actual internet SERVICE from Google here- you can use this with the internet service you already have or if Google internet service is available in your area, you could of course choose to use this with Google internet service (although you'd have to pay the purchase price of this router plus the monthly fee for whatever Google (or other brand) internet service plan you choose. I think this is what you were asking about regarding a monthly fee as it seems that likely due to the name of this device, a number of people seem to think that this device also includes internet service when in fact it is a new router to use with your existing internet service or the internet service you order separately. I hope this answers your question.

Q: QuestionI HAVE COMCAST MODEM WITH INTEGRATED WI-FI ROUTER CAN I USE THIS TO EXTEND MY COMCAST WI-FI SIGNAL OR RANGE ?
Asked by SYED.
- A:Answer Yes you can. No need to yell.
Answered by jayteescout
Q: QuestionCan I split this to two houses ? Can I use 2 in one house and One in another house ?
Asked by Harry.
- A:Answer Yes, you can place each unit in separate houses. Basically, each hub can operate independently of one another, so essentially when you purchase this system you are purchasing three identical routers. So depending on your situation you will need to configure the system differently. ~If the two buildings are beyond the reach of the wifi signal you will need to connect each unit to its own broadband modem or link them via an ethernet cable, which may not be practical. ~If the buildings are close enough for the WiFI signal to reach, then you can configure the system as normal. ~If you plan on purchasing two units for your home and then give one to a friend, then each of you will set up your respective units independently. I hope this was helpful.

Q: QuestionDoes this replace my comcast router? How does the cord from TV connect to it? Also will Nest and Wemo connect with it?
Asked by Laur.
- A:Answer This can replace your router, but it is NOT a modem. If you rent a modem from Comcast, you'd need to either keep that and plug this into the ethernet port on the bottom of the Google WiFi, or purchase yourself a new Modem and return yours to Comcast. If you have one of Comcast's Gateways (Modem/router combined (sounds like you may)) then you can keep that as well (and may need to if you use their phone service), again, just plug this into one of the 4 ethernet ports on the back of your Comcast Gateway. Their Gateway is required by them to get their TV/Phone/Internet service when you have a bundle. If you have the Gateway, you can also call Comcast tech support to disable the wireless portion of it if needed. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionIs this a wifi router or wifi extender? Also If I plug this into any of LAN port in my home do I need to setup this for WIFI or it will automatically configure to use same WiFi Router configurations?
Asked by Samar.
- A:Answer It's a wireless router. One is plugged into your ISP modem, and the others act as wireless bridges that extends your wireless coverage. They all talk together in a Mesh network. So far my system has been solid with awesome coverage and speed. nice features with parental control too. Combines 2.4ghz and 5ghz to a single SSID which is nice.

Q: QuestionIn some rooms in my house the WiFi signal is VERY weak and in some cases its not available. If I use an extender, it creates another WiFi ID which is different from the main one assigned to the router. Does this device creates another WiFi ID?
Asked by OCE.
- A:Answer No. The system is supposed to switch you automatically between different wifi devices, but all of them will be under one ID. You will have one ID for your network, regardless of how many of these devices you have.

Q: QuestionI have Ethernet run throughout my house. The question is if I can run each of these off their own Ethernet connection, rather than relying on one hub to provide connection wirelessly to the other hubs? But still one mesh wireless network.
Asked by Stinkypete.
- A:Answer Short answer yes. Especially could be useful if your wired ethernet is gigabit and if you have a segment of your house that is walled off with wifi blocking materials. Here is the response from google technical support: Thank you for contacting Google Wifi Care. My name is Brian and I will be happy to help you out with this! You can connect Google Wifi points via Ethernet if you want. In most use cases it probably doesn't matter whether they are wired or wireless. There certainly wouldn't be a disadvantage to use wired over wireless (unless it means not locating the access point in the best location). Whether there is an actual advantage depends on what the connected devices are, what they're doing and the speed of the Internet itself. If you have the Ethernet cables available in the ideal location for a wireless access point, you should use them. If not, then you shouldn't. It is accurate that to setup multiple Google Wifi points you start off wirelessly. Then move them to their desired locations and connect by Ethernet. They'll then use the best connection available. If I can be of any further assistance or you have any other questions, please let me know by replying directly to this email. You can also reach us at 844-442-3693. We are here to help 24/7!
