No buyer's remorse here!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a long time I wanted a GoPro because I wanted to start filming my fishing excursions and I wanted one with a screen so I could see what I was filming. Unfortunately buying the brand new GoPros wasn't going to help my college budget. Then I saw this model and was instantly hooked. It may not be the latest model but I feel like for what I paid I got more than my money's worth. The camera comes with an LCD screen, all the charging accessories, and it is built in to a waterproofing case. I've submerged this camera countless times to get some really cool shots and the clarity is crystal clear. Very easy to use and not pushing maximum dollars. I'll never regret this purchase.

Great value for its price but still some annoyance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first GoPro and I don't have experience with GoPros prior to this. After reading a lot of online reviews trying to decide between the HERO4 or the HERO+ LCD, I settled on this one because it was highly reviewed as a good beginner GoPro and not nearly as expensive as the HERO4. And truly it was really easy to use, the LCD makes recording and changing settings super convenient, and there are only 3 buttons (again, simplicity). It doesn't come with an internal SD card, and online reviews said I should go no larger than the 64GB micro SD, so I got 2 cards, each could handle 5.5 hours of recording at 30fps and 1080p. The only major complaint I have is that the battery life is very short. With a brand new GoPro, I barely hit 2 hours of runtime before the battery completely died on me. I try to save battery by auto-shutting off the LCD after 1 min, and keeping the wifi turned off, and powering the whole device down if I know I'm not using it for more than 15 min before my next recording destination. It helps stretch out the battery life to about 3 hours but having to do these "workarounds" can be quite annoying. Other than that, I'm quite happy with the GoPro HERO+ LCD thus far. I also bought the GoPole, wifi remote, quick clip and head mount, and the car mounts, and some other accessories. They amounted to almost the same cost as the GoPro itself, so be warned that accessories can almost double the price of your entire system. But some of the accessories came in super handy (eg GoPole, car mounts).

Great for watersports!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first GoPro camera and I love it! The touch screen LCD panel on the back makes it really easy to use and check what you captured afterwards. You can also use the GoPro app to control the camera with your iPhone using bluetooth, but I found this drains the battery a lot... and that's the only negative aspect I found with this model: the battery is not removable... so you cannot bring another one to replace it when it drains, you can only recharge. This is because the waterproof case is fixed to the camera I guess, so that would be it's strongest suit... to use it in water-related activities.

Q: QuestionMy son is 12 would this be the best choice for him? Not sure if I should just buy the cheaper version.
Asked by Mom.
- A:Answer This is an excellent choice for a young action videographer. It is durable and it takes great video. The model that you choose depends on how you intend to use it. If your son is just going to mount it on his skateboard, bike, or helmet, then there is no need for the LCD to help frame the shots. You can get the less expensive Hero+. If he doesn't have an iPad, iPod, iPhone or Android device to control it via WiFi or Bluetooth, then you can get the base model Hero. That's the real difference between the Hero, Hero+, and Hero+LCD. There are other difference in the base Hero like the slow motion setting is only available at lower resolution and it also takes lower resolution stills and lower bit rate video. So the Hero is more limited shooting and no Wifi or Bluetooth and the Hero+ and Hero+LCD take higher quality video and stills and only differ in the LCD. If he is going to use it as a hand-held camera I would definitely get the Hero+LCD.

Q: QuestionSo it ways waterproof down to 131' so can you scuba dive with the case it comes with?
Asked by Melissa.
- A:Answer As with all waterproof case use the case under water without the camera in it to see if is going to leak. If it does bring it back and see if you exchange it for a new one.

Q: QuestionIf I don't have anything but an iPad,which does not have a USB connection, would i be able to send videos from the camera to the iPad ?
Asked by LJ.
- A:Answer Yes, the camera connects to the iPad via Bluetooth and wireless connection. We have not even used a computer yet. The basic HERO model does not have this functionality though. You have to at least have the LCD version.

Q: QuestionHero+LCD vs. HeroIs there really that much of a difference between the video/photo quality, etc.? I'm unsure if it is worth the extra money to buy the other.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer You can check out the specs online at GoPro.com. I think they have the same video quality. The advantage of the LCD screen model is you can see what you are videoing or taking a picture of. Also, the LCD model connects via Bluetooth and wireless to an iPad or iPhone so you can view the videos or pictures on your device. You can also view what the camera sees. This made the LCD version the better one to buy. I hated the extra cost though! It makes it much easier to use. Otherwise you would have to hook up to a computer or take out the SD card to view pictures and video since the basic HERO model is not compatible with the App.

Q: QuestionIs there a place to see when battery is getting low ? Can you over charge the battery ?Can you tell when battery is getting low? Is it shock proof ?
Asked by Marie.
- A:Answer Yes, the battery indicator is on the front LCD display at the bottom right. No, you cannot overcharge the battery. It will stop charging when it's full and maintain a change if it continues to be connected to a power source.

Q: QuestionWhich GoPro would be most compatible with use on motorcycle? How do you mount?
Asked by C.
- A:Answer All of the GoPro's use the same mounting hardware so it doesn't matter which one you buy, they are all compatible with the handlebar mounts. You would purchase a handlebar mount separately. Many combination mount kits include several mounts including those for handlebars. The other question is do you need to see what you are shooting or just want to point it forward and record? If you think you need to frame the shot first, then get a model that has an LCD. Otherwise the base Hero would be fine for just point and shoot.
