A step up from GT5
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have been a huge GT fan since way back to the GT1 days. I played every version since then, but fell out of love with the series with GT5. The game was way too difficult to just pick up and play. As I've gotten older it's been more difficult to dedicate loads of time to games. When I want to get a GT hit in, I need to be able to pick up the game and go at it. GT5 did not allow that. Licenses have never been an issue, but the leveling up, made things far too restrictive. GT6 took care of that and got back to simple. There's plenty to do in the Simulation mode without being too restrictive for the time-crunched player. License tests are down to 5 tests per license which is a welcome change. Less is more in this regard. Getting all golds in S License is still controller-throwing hard at times but I suppose that is part of the charm.

Great and Terrible
|Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendI'm an avid GT5 player and couldn't wait for GT6 (bought it first day). I played it the first day and have never put it back into my PS3. The graphics are great. The new cars are great. The new tracks are great. The inter-face needs some getting use too. So why is it so bad? The completely ruined the online experience. RUINED IT!!! The new lobby is HORRIBLE!!! The layout is terrible. They took away the best part of the GT5 lobby: shuffle races. Shuffle races are were everyone gets a random car and you race against each other. "Dirty" shuffle races are were you bet and bang and fight with each other while racing. Great fun with tons of people from all around the world that race these daily... and they took it out of GT6?!?!?!? Why why why??? Ruined the game. Buy GT5 instead. You'll be glad you did.

A Worthy Upgrade at Reduced Price
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendBeen a fan of Gran Turismo for many years. Really enjoy the variety of cars and tracks. Not a serious racer myself but I do have a quality wheel and pedal set. GT6 is a very nice albeit small, step up from GT5. Pity you have to start all over again, but that's been the history of this series. Menus and navigation is much improved. Load times seem a bit faster to me. Tweaking and tuning seems to have more affect. Again, I am a casual racer so I cannot speak to the super detailed stuff that's in the game. For me it's just FUN!! , especially when doing some 2 player racing. Put off buying GT6 until it had a couple significant price drops. Good value now. Only big negative was hours of software updates when I first installed it on my PS3. Be nice if they could re-package it with all the current updates.

Fantastic, but lacks some some wanted upgrades
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendPros: -New physics simulator is fantastic -Best track selection of any racing game -HUGE selection of vehicles -Promising "to-be-added" content -Night racing is fun -Terrain races are a nice addition Cons: -Blank car interiors are still blank on many cars -Landscape graphics not as updated as hoped (grass still looks very animation-y) -Auto-replays are annoying -Still takes too long to get from one race to another

A Decent GT Release
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis one was released in a much more finished state than GT5. It has good depth in single-player, with the rotating seasonal events to keep something fresh available. The used car lot concept has been removed, and now the old cars are all in the new car lot, so no waiting for 2 years in game days just so you can find a 22B or two, like the past couple GT releases. The old cars also seem to have gotten much better remodeling love this time, but there are still cars with no interior (they seem to have patched in a note when buying the cars to let you know if interior has been detailed). I've always been a fan of getting all the old cars in addition to the newest ones, so I'm very happy with how the oldest cars were handled this time, as opposed to GT5, where it really looked like the old cars from GT3 still had their original graphics. The single-player is not bad, as usual, but it is frustrating that they never brought back the ability to practice or qualify for the races that have no restarts, especially when the AI drives blindly on their line, even when it means driving through the back of your car to spin you out when you own the line by any sanctioned racing rules.

Nothing new
|Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendThere really isn't much new from GT5. There are more vehicles and tracks. That is about the only thing different. There is a lot of cars (1200) and a lot of tracks (70). The graphics are about the same. The biggest disappointment is the sound. If you closed your eyes, you would think you were playing the original GT from the PS1. The cars still go thunk when you hit a wall and there isn't much difference between a V8 and the GoKart. I love driving games and that is the only reason I bought it.

Gran Turismo 6
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've owned every GT game so far, and I'll continue to buy them as long as they make them. I really like the redesign they did on the home screen, navigating through the different areas is real easy. As far as the driving gameplay, it seems pretty much the same as GT5, but I bought the game after reading reviews that this was the case, and I was ok with that. The ONLY problem I have with this game is that fact that I can't get my PS3 to read the disc half the time. It probably only works half the time at best. I've returned the game 3 or 4 times now (at 2 different best buys), and every disc has done the same thing. I've pretty much given up, and just deal with the fact that I have to pop the disc in and out 10 times before it finally reads it.

Great game like all the rest
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendExtremely long loading, and some of the cut scenes of your car driving before the race are ridiculously long especially when you spin out on the first turn and have to sit through it 5 times (or more) before you get it right. Other than that they made earning credits much faster giving you the ability to explore more of the amazing car choices that they offer. Fun just collecting cars. If you liked previous Gran Turismo Games there isn't too much added to enrich the gameplay, but if you haven't played since GT3 like me then you will definitely enjoy what updates they have done since then. I can't speak for the online multiplayer because I have never felt the need to play online. So much to do in the main gameplay.
