I bought this charger because my teenage son keeps wearing out the more expensive Apple chargers (somehow fraying the cord near the USB plug), so thought we'd try something less expensive. It's lasted pretty good so far (couple of months now) and shows none of the stretching, wear and tear that his chargers have shown by now. It's also compact, so it fits easily into his backpack and even his pocket.
