Purchased this software and there was an error during install and state had to be uninstalled. H&R block website said to uninstall software and reinstall. Pretty easy process till I get to the program and I was promoted to now pay an extra $39.95 for state, I tried to call H&R block and after 31 minutes I couldn't take the terrible quality elevator music and constant random tax tips and had to hang up.

I have used H&R Block many years. I have also used competitive products, but I keep coming back to H&R. I can usually find discounts making it cost equivalent or less than other top tier products. I also like the interface and how data is input better than other products. I fine it easier to use. Any top tier product will ask the right questions to find deductions or sources of income you might miss but I believe H&R does this well. I would rate it higher but you still have to pay extra for state efile. The download process and activation key discovery process is not as easy as it should be (Best Buy interface, not an H&R thing). Everything is there but it is a bit cumbersome. It isn't bad, just not as easy as it could be.

This product walks thru tax preparation with ease. It is user friendly, and the tax situations well. Is also little bit cheaper than the competition.
