    Synopsis

Halloween III: Season of the Witch
The only installment of the Halloween series to abandon the Michael Myers story line, Halloween III: Season of the Witch is an intricate sci-fi horror hybrid. A week before Halloween, an older man named Harry Grimbridge (Al Berry) is wounded by a mysteriously dispassionate group of assailants in an industrial parking lot. After receiving treatment at a local hospital from Dr. Dan Challis (Tom Atkins) -- a hard-drinking divorced father of two -- Grimbridge is killed by an assassin who later sets himself on fire. Blowing off his own kids, Challis teams up with Grimbridge's daughter, Ellie (Stacey Nelkin), to find out why the middle-aged toy salesman was murdered. The duo's search soon leads them to a Halloween-mask factory run by inventor and practical joker Conal Cochran (Dan O'Herlihy). In between bouts of passionate lovemaking, Ellie and Challis begin to realize that the sinister old businessman has something other than treats in mind for America's kids -- something to do with the Silver Shamrock masks that Challis' children and thousands of other youngsters have bought for the holiday. Original screenwriter Nigel Kneale, whose scripts for Britain's Quatermass TV series made him a beloved science fiction fixture, sued the producers of Halloween III to have his name removed from the credits after seeing the gory finished product; director Tommy Lee Wallace ultimately received screenplay credit. John Carpenter, director of the first Halloween film, co-produced the third installment with Debra Hill, who would later soldier on without Carpenter for additional, belated sequels. ~ Brian J. Great Horror Movie

I know, I know, people see this as a Michael Myers movie that went bad, but it's not. It never was. The real story behind the Halloween movie series (as explained by it's creator, John Carpenter) was supposed to be a series of all completely different halloween horror themed movies. Then, Hollywood took over, capitalizing on what they saw as a franchise. So, with that in mind, this is a really cool movie. It's just too bad that they didn't follow that original line and split Michael from the story series. This movie alone scared the c-r-a-p out of me as a kid. It's truly evil. What a great story never seen before or since. All the great elements to a creepy story including Halloween, small town, ghosts, witches, demons, wicked technology and terrorizing families and their kids. So, to really enjoy this movie, as it's own movie, just watch it as a movie called, Season of the Witch. You'll appreciate it. Happy, Happy Halloween, Silver Shamrocks!

This is another of the "Halloween" series movies released by the 'Scream Factory' division of the Shout Factory distributors. The story in the movie itself is a pretty "love it or hate it" situation; they tried to turn the "Halloween" title into an anthology type series with an unrelated plot but at the time it failed, pushing them to go back to the original Michael Myers ideas. The presentation on this BluRay is excellent. Great sound and picture quality, the best I've ever come across. Loaded with documentaries and special features, another one where I'm still trying to watch them all. If you were a fan of this film, get this set.

Ok Ok most people thing this movie is bad. I actually like it and find it very very creepy. If you take it out of the Halloween franchise, and view it as its own movie, it really isnt that bad. People often think Michael Myers will be in it. He isnt, the movie is about masks and is very enjoyable. No special things on this dvd, but still worth picking up.

Halloween 3 has nothing to do with Michael Meyers, but you knew that already. The movie is OK at best, but I enjoy it now a lot more than when it first came out, simply due to the style of movie making back in the 80's. To be honest, I bought it simply to complete my Halloween blu ray collection.

This is a great classic horror movie, it is a separate movie altogether vs the other Halloween series. It has nothing to do with Halloween 2 or Halloween 4 but it does have the Silver Shamrock. Scream Factory did a great job on this movie with great artwork and lots of extras.

Great movie but not as good as the first two Halloween movies. This is totally different, yet it stands out on its own. Suspenseful from the beginning to the end!

If you are a huge fan of " Season of the Witch " then you should purchase this second blu ray release " special edition blu ray ". It has a ton of extra features which the first blu ray release does not have.

I enjoyed this quirky horror classic that strayed away from the Michael Myers titles. It was dark, funny but not for kids. Blu Ray transfer looks great.
