Depending on whether you enjoy vinyl or not. If you're a fan of the movie and its soundtrack. You won't be disappointed. The music sounds just as good as if watching the actual film. The cover is pretty detailed as well with the image of Michael Myers. The water popped out on the cover as you can feel it. I was hoping that a digital or cd version would be available for this. But, since this review is just on the vinyl. It's worth having it.

The 1978 Halloween soundtrack has several iterations. The 1983 rendition contained the music as it was recorded in the studio. The 20th anniversary edition contained a few bonus tracks but sounded relatively the same as the 1983 soundtrack. However, this 40th anniversary edition, which is only available on vinyl, contains the entire soundtrack from the beginning of the movie to the end of the movie exactly as it sounds in the film. For any horror movie buffs who are intimately familiar with this soundtrack, they will immediately notice that the Halloween theme contained in the 40th anniversary edition does not contain the thumping baseline that is found in the 1983 and 20th anniversary soundtracks. Again, this sounds exactly as it does in the film from beginning to end. It is by far my favorite record in my collection of John Carpenter soundtracks.
