Top Xbox 360 Contender
Posted .Halo 3 sold how many copies?! That's no suprise... If you've played the first two, you can only imagine how great this one is. Wether you're a hardcore, book-readin' fan or just a weekend warrior, this game has it all. The story has you were you left off, no duh! Crash landing back down to earth to battle the covenant. And of course, good ole' Sargent Johnson is back to kick you into gear if you can't seem to remember which button the R trigger is. The story will keep preoccupied long enough to make your boss wonder if you caught some wierd disease like yellow fever or rhinovirus (Common Cold); leaving you with plenty of time to find all the games hidden skulls and enable the "grunt B-Day party" cheat (Think "Pop Goes The Weasle" and Confetti). The biggest and best new add-on to the game is the 4 player co-op they added. The 2 previous games allowed for only two player split screen co-op. Now, you can play online with your friends and zip through the story getting achievments, lickety split. Any Halo fans who'ce played the first one will recognize that the Assult Rifle is back and yes, it has been modified (Not sure if it's for better or worse). It has a small clip size and is more accurate but, is seemingly less satisfying of a kill. Adding new weapons like a "Spartan Laser" and a "Flamethrower" as well as many new brute weapons and vehicals make the game even more enjoyable. This next upgrade has changed the control scheme dramtically; The X button (Blue Skittle) is no longer used to reload. You push it and an Item is used (Bubble Shield, Radar Jammer, Shield Damage Stuff, etc). To reload you now have to use one of the Xbox 360's handy-dandy bumper triggers. This adds a new element to the multi-player; GOD BERRY KING OF THE JUICE! The Multi-player has one of the best features in next-gen games... Custom Levels Creation (AKA: FORGE). You can delete almost every in game weapons, spawn point and objects by the press of your Y button. Although this adds to being a more diverese set of levels it is also limited by far. Compared to Far Cry's complete terrian and object/spawn/everything else editor, Halo comes up short. But hey, we've lived with it in the first two right? Wrong! At least the first two games had good multi-player maps... HALO 3 HAS NO NEW BLOOD GULCH!!! Well, they do, but It's named differently and is morphed and beaten out of shape. Like me... When you look at "Hang Em' High" in Halo 1 or "Lockout" in Halo 2, as low standerd level design as they were, we loved them. The Halo 3 maps lack a certain something that the first two games had. Nothing shooting stuff can't fix. Many new online party features and a great matchmaking system leave this game smokeing on top of a heaping pile of game goodness.

Great X-BOX LIVE Matchmaking, Campaign
Posted .Halo3 is fun, never gets old like a-lot of other games! A MAJOR improvment from halo 2. Fantastic graphics, a great varioty of weapons, maps, misions, and game types. There is twenty maps including four map packs! (two of which are free). You can even go into theatre mode and take pic's and videos of your previous games. Overall rating 10/10.

You finish the fight yes- but....
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendSet right after Halo 2- the story of Halo 3 goes like this: Master Chief crashes in the jungles of Earth, he is rescued, has to get used to the elite's new alliance with humanity, chase the Prophet of Truth through a portal to the Halo rings's control room: the Ark, kill Truth, save Cortana from the Flood leader the Gravemind, and finally blow up the Ark and destroy the Flood. However the game leaves us off at a cliffhanger even more irritatting than Halo 2's. The campaign is fun; but it is only nine levels long and gets boring after the second time playing it. And in a way it rips you off because there are so many instances with the Gravemind that has "boss fight" written all over it, but you never do! It really makes you wonder what Bungie was doing during the whole three years they had to make this. Fortunatly: you can play campaign with your friends over the online magic that is Xbox LIVE, so there is some replay value. The multiplayer is fantastic and twice as strong than the previous two. Plus, there is even a neat little tool called "Forge" in which you can edit objects in any of the multiplayer maps. Objects keep in mind- not the overall layout. There is even a movie making feature called "Theater" in which you replay game data that you already played- and can watch it like a movie, make it a movie, take a screenshot, etc. Its a great game, but the story mode will leave you unsatisfied. But the multiplayer, Forge, and Theater modes greatly make up for it.

HALO 3 - The game every XBOX 360 onwer should have
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendGraphics: Breathtaking 9.5/10 The graphics great. The rumors of an upgraded Halo 2, or Halo 2 like graphics is not true. With smooth framerates and stunning effects, you will be taken aback. Take some time to watch the backgrounds and environments and the detail of that went into these levels. This is after you clear everything that moves. Sound: Amazing – 10/10 The sounds, music, effects, and voices take you immediately into the game. Surround sound is a must so you can hear the shots, shouts, and footsteps of the your opponents in this game. The score for this game heightens you senses, and truly brings you into the game. Gameplay: Spectacular – 9/10 Smooth animations, large levels, smart enemies and A.I., big battles, and 4-player co-op = awesome. Without giving anything away, this is some great storytelling that gives way to some genuine wow moments. Replay Value – Amazing 10/10 Multiplayer. That is all I have to say. This game has high replay value. Choose which way you would like to play online, but with the achievements, future downloadable content, 4-player co-op, and with over 1 million copies pre-ordered, and 4 million copies on retailers shelves in the first week, there will always be someone to play with. Overall – Perfect 9.5/10 I am a fan of First-Person-Shooters (FPS) and all that is associated with them. I enjoy the emersion, and critique them heavily. This game allows you to “finish the fight”, but this game is so much more. The campaign brings closure, but it is the multiplayer aspect that will revolutionize XBOX Live and online gaming as we know it. Halo 3 is Bungie’s 3-year project and baby, with unlimited resources from Microsoft, that was made to send Microsoft’s XBOX 360 to the next level, and it was worth the wait and money. With over 1 million pre-orders, this epic tale concludes with the highest pre-orders of a game to date. This game in campaign feels, and plays near perfect, and allows veterans and newcomers alike to enjoy and truly experience this game. The story line finishes up the previous two games, and is just long enough to make it feel right, and not dragged out. It took approximately 8.5 hours to beat it on legendary difficulty. It may be a bit shorter, though this was played immediately after a midnight sale of this game. The co-op was well done, and creates a new feel for campaign FPS games. I look forward to the future where this will be the standard in playing games. The online is well done. Halo 3 has once again set the standard of what an online matchmaking/playing system should be. Putting together fun maps, objectives, and customizable Advatars, this game will appeal to the “newbie”, as well as the everyday online Halo player. With the Halo 2 system being overhauled, and the Bungie stat-tracker updated, this game will quickly become the number one game on XBOX Live. I could write a five page review on this game, the battles, the enemies, weapons, and AI, but it still would not do it justice. If you have an XBOX 360, you should buy this, and buy it now. If you have thought about getting an XBOX 360, this would be the reason to get one. Does it live up to the hype? I don’t think anything could have lived up to the hype that is game received. This game was praised as the second coming, but what it is one of the best games of 2007, and is beautiful and fun to play.

Best game ever - final.
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this game when it first came out a few years ago, and you would think I would have put it down now, but still Halo3 keeps calling me to play it over and over again. What's so addictive about are the multiplayer options and the overall fun you get out of this game. The controls are relatively easy to get used to, the graphics are not super realistic, but the gameplay is second to none. Where other games do well is the graphics, but they they sacrifice on what can be done in the game by the character. In Halo3 you are pretty much free to roam just about anywhere in the maps and do just about anything with your player (jumping, move certain objects, crash things, blow up things, etc.) that's within the engine limits. Here's what I find most intriguing and fun about Halo3: Story - The Halo story has a huge following due to the fact that the story is inspiring and makes you feel as if you are the Spartan - the ultimate hero of our world. Challenging - You can select different grades of difficulty in the game. Co-op Campaign - You can play Cooperative campaign mode with your friends! Map Editor - Called Forge in Halo3 and probably the best map editor I've ever seen. There is so much you can do and build. The possibilities are almost endless. Share them with other Halo Players over File Share. You can even invite your friends in a Forge session as you work to create custom maps or just have fun in the map editor. There's so much to do! Multiplayer - Matchmaking - Halo3 is by far the best multiplayer game out there. Different types of Social and Ranked matches are available over Xbox Live Gold. You can also play Custom maps with your friends. Guests- From your 360 console at home, you and up to 3 guests can join in on the Xbox Live fun by joining games over Halo3's Matchmaking. SystemLink - Have LAN parties, or Halo Parties with your friends with other 360 consoles in the comfort of your home. All you need are extra t.v. sets, router, and network cables, plus however many 360 consoles and controllers you want to hook up...16 players max..if I'm not mistaken. Custom Games - You can create and play Custom Matches with your friends or join those of others. You can play maps found on File Share or maps you've created and saved with the Map Editor. Theater - By far one of the coolest add-ons to a game I've seen. Previously played games are recorded and downloadable to watch. You can also invite your friends in the the Theater to watch them too. Additionally, you can edit the playback to cut it down to a smaller size, change the perspective of who or what you're looking at, and then you can save all of that and share it over File Share. File Share - Bungie gives you a certain amount of free slots available to upload your custom maps from Forge, and screen shots and playbacks from Theater. File Share can be used to download these items that either Bungie or your Friends (or other players) have also reccommended. You can also purchase additional File Share slots from Bungie with Xbox Live points. Continuing map packs - If I counted them correctly, since Halo3's release, there have been 3 or 4 new map packs released for extra enjoyment. When Halo ODST launches in mid September 2009, these map packs should be included. Hopefully I was able to give you a good idea of what to expect in Halo 3. If you haven't ever played Halo 3 before, then I highly encourage you to do so. Even if First Person Shooter games are not for you, at least seeing this game and what it can do will really impress you. I for one know that this game was the best investment I have ever put into a video game. Most video games depreciate big time in their value over a course of two years, but Halo 3 is still going strong. Rent it first maybe, to see if you want to invest in it yourself.....if it's not out stock from your local video store!

must have for any gamer
Posted .I would recommend this to a friend--I've tested the game and it's UNREAL--by far the best FPS and will lead the industry for years to come--Beta Testers were letdown earlier this year, but everything has been drastically improved. Graphics, Gameplay, Matchmaking,Achievements -4-way CO-OP campaign mode via splitscreen/XBOX LIVE---Topping what GEARS OF WAR did --GAME SAVE FILM & SHARE feature is out of this world. Kick some royal butt online, save and share with anyone on XBOX LIVE. Grab the popcorn men, because you'll be replaying your top online matches again and again --Regardless of this game being launched on a platform that has underpeformed with the 3-RED LIGHT -"Ring of Death" have no fear. Microsoft has stood behind their product TWICE for me. At no charge I've had my 360 replaced and back in working condition within 10-15 days. If this is holding you back from buying a 360 don't let it. I hear all new 360's with a product upc of March 07 or newer are in great shape. --High Def with 1080i highly advised. Not just for the hardcore gamer, but for the fan-base that truly appreciates a work of art when it comes to gaming. ENJOY!!!! ps--don't get Legendary---helmet is a plastic rip-off that faded in the sunlight. Save your $
