Having used a Philips sunrise alarm clock for about 5 years prior to purchasing this, I already knew I wanted another sunrise alarm clock when mine stopped working. This alarm clock appears well made and is definitely more aesthetically pleasing than those made by Philips. My only two complaints are: 1. The Brightness. The Philips clock was very bright compared to this. I am a light sleeper, so this light is still enough to wake me up, but it isn't nearly as bright and the colors aren't as 'defined.' They tend to be more diffused. 2. The reliance on a mobile application. While this wasn't a surprise to me (I read other reviews prior to purchasing), this is still a drawback. There just isn't a great degree of control using only the controls on the clock itself. That said, the app worked well for me, and it gives plenty of options for configuration.

I purchased this for my wife and it works perfectly for her. The light slowly waking you up with the birds singing in the background are perfect for not startling you awake like you're back in the military. All in all a wonderful device that will wake you up much more naturally than an alarm will.

This device is easy to set-up with a smartphone and easy to program. You can choose from a number of color and sound configurations, including meditations, songs, and noises like fans. The library also includes sounds from the outdoors and nature, which really appeal to my cat.
