Tommy Karevik makes this his own...

When Roy Khan left Kamelot a few years back I figured that they were finished as a band. After peaking with The Black Halo I felt that the next progression was a step back and figured that Kamelot had run its course. With the addition of Tommy Karevik on vocals Kamelot made a nice comeback album last time out. With the new disc, "Haven", Kamelot moves forward as Tommy makes this band his, using more of his voice instead of cloning Khan's. The results are at times stunning! There isn't a weak track on here and this disc is a must own for all fans of Kamelot, and also a must own for fans of symphonic progressive power metal

Highs: Expertly played power/progressive metal from one of the subgenre's best; "Citizen Zero" and "Revolution" dazzle. Lows: Some of the material is a little too close to the "Silverthorn," causing a lack of immediate impact. The album may need repeated listens to grow. Bottom line: Treading a bit too close to "Silverthorn," Kamelot's new album takes time to grow into what truly is a safe "Haven."

This is my first Kamelit cd although I have listened to them before and seen them live. I found the album really enjoyable. It's got a good range of song paces. You got some heavy hitting and some more melodic songs. It being my first album of theirs I cannot comment on how it compares to their earlier albums but for me this album hits the spot.

Every time Kamelot puts out an album is it always different from the last one, which makes this band so unique. Each album tells a story about something and this is why I really enjoy listening to them. If you haven't heard of them. I would recommend you find them on iTunes or Pandora and just take a listen.

Haven is a great Kamelot album! They seem to get better with every release. This album has it all.... epic, moody and powerful songs. They are, without a doubt, one of the best Power Prog bands around.

New Kamelot excellent album. This version contains 2nd disc that has instrumental and different versions of new material that is cool. If you are a fan I would get the 2cd version.

I have to say Khan is my favorite Kamelot voice BUT...The new singer sounds amazing on his second CD with Kamelot. Easily one of my favorite Kamelot CD's.

Kamelot very much has a house style. Theatrical almost operatic compositions and emotions that are felt at the most passionate. This is no different.
