Genre: Action, Gore, Comedy, Supernatural Length: 112 minutes "Arucard awakens with his thirst for vengeance stronger than ever. This bloodthirsty monster unleashes every heinous trick in his deadly repertoire while baring his fangs at an army of fiendish N.z. werewolves. As Arucard soaks up every precious drop of blood in sight, all involved are struck by the realization that this ultimate slaughter may be too much for even the most diabolical of demonic slayers to survive. Find out which clandestine establishment asserts its dominance as the epic battle of the supernatural reaches its gloriously bloody end." Really Funimation? Nz werewolves? They're vampires! There is one werewolf, but I won't spoil that part! Hellsing Ultimate has been such a wonderful series to watch even if it has taken forever to finish in North America. With this being volumes IX & X, I don't recommend watching from this point if you haven't seen the first 8. Had my brother watch it with me and he was confused as can be, and I really didn't want to spend the time to rewatch them just so he was in the know. The final volumes start off with the conclusion to the fight between Alexander and Alucard/Arucard. Not much of a spoiler, but there's no way that Alucard would die this early on without even getting to face Walter or the Major. It's actually pretty hard to say much about this one without there being a ton of spoilers so I'll try to focus on the overall picture. As has been the norm, the show centers primarily on the over-the-top one-on-one fights along with a few mass slaughters of the non-super powerful troops. Alucard takes a surprisingly lighter role at this stage of the game with a bit more emphasis on Seras and Integra. The true role of Schroedinger is finally revealed as well! Graphically, the end of this series still maintains the bone-shattering, blood-curdling, mass violence that we've come to know with Hellsing Ultimate. if anything, it takes a step up by flooding nearly all of London in blood. if you don't like blood, stay away! Plot-wise, while the action was intense, it felt like there was a lot more dialogue than I remembered. However, it's been a long time since the first 8 volumes were released in English so I could have just forgotten those parts and solely remembered the action. Also, the opening and ending themes went back to more of an Asian feel whereas the prior volumes were much more western. They also brought back the Warsong Philharmonic Orchestra which I loved! Overall, I was sad that we only get two volumes instead of 4, but there's a very nice and satisfying end to this one unlike a lot of series. Nothing felt rushed or forced. This was definitely a pleasure to watch! Lastly, glad that the other guy got his copy a week early. Mine still hadn't shipped as of midnight on 10/27 so I cancelled my order and picked it up in the store on release day. Got the last copy!

After a two year wait, (Hellsing Ultimate Volumes I-VIII were released as Blu-Ray/DVD Combos back in October and November 2012) Hellsing Ultimate has seen its final two chapter released. This is a series that is no stranger to delays in release. Volumes I, II, and III were originally released by Geneon Entertainment, but with the collapse of that distributor, FUNimation picked up the license to Hellsing and many other Geneon properties, releasing I-III and then IV under their banner in 2008. It took 4 long years, but V, VI, VII, and VIII were released, with the added bonus of being released on Blu-Ray and featuring the original cast. Unfortunately, Hellsing Ultimate suffers from the use of three different animation studios throughout its production, and it shows with these final two chapters. It isn't a major transition, but if you are like me and wanted to remind yourself of what transpired before by rewatching any of the previous material, it can be slightly jarring. Despite this, Hirano Kouta's story is brought to life once again, this time to its conclusion. The story, just as it did in the manga, does feel slightly rushed, but I believe Hirano was ready to end the tale of the vampire Alucard, the lady Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing, and police girl turned vampire apprentice Seras Victoria. The action never fails to please, and the relationships between the characters are always great to watch. For those who have not read the manga or watched the anime to their conclusion, there are a few surprises that are sure to please. The ending epilogue is also quite fun. For the price, you really cannot beat it. Hellsing Ultimate, even with its few flaws, is one of my favorite adaptations, and I can easily recommend it to anyone with a desire to watch a truly action packed anime or anyone interested in enjoying a true vampire's tale. This ain't Twilight!

The saga of Hellsing Ultimate finally comes to an end with the long-anticipated release of the final two episodes. If you've been along for the ride thus far, and still have a relatively strong stomach for more vampire action, this will satisfy you to a large extent. Here, allies become enemies and major foes are finally defeated at an exorbitant cost, and even Arucard does not get out unscathed in the end. Everything gets smashed and comes crashing down in this final volume, and no one is really spared, which is actually quite fitting given the subject matter.

Nothing compares to Hellsing Ultimate series if you like Hellsing. The original Anime makes not much sense and strays from the Manga's. Hellsing Ultimate follows the Manga way better and the animation is top notch. Absolutely loved this and enjoy had a few good laughs in there despite the dark and serious nature of the anime. Highly recommended if you want a excellent Vampire anime with loads of action.

I have owned the first two blu ray sets containing Volumes 1-8 for awhile now. This show is absolutely incredible and better than most vampire/horror movies or shows out there. I must say it has been a joy and a privileged to watch this outstanding piece of art. While the plot is simple the characters are quite complex and you can't help but love them. This is the epic conclusion to the Hellsing Ultimate series.
