My Best Buy® Member Purchase Promise Frequently Asked Questions

Best Buy is committed to making sure you have the right tech for your needs. Now you also can be confident in the price you are paying. With our Member Purchase Promise, we'll monitor your purchases and if the price you paid for your new tech lowers within 15 days at Best Buy, we'll give you the difference in My Best Buy Points.

How does the program work?

If, for example, you purchase a qualifying product on May 1 for $100, and between May 1 and May 15 the product drops in price at Best Buy to $90, Best Buy will add 500 My Best Buy Points (the equivalent of $10 in Rewards) to your My Best Buy points account.

Do I have to take any action to receive these points?

No. These points are automatically added to the My Best Buy account for Member Purchase Promise participants.

How quickly will I see these points?

Within 21 days of purchase we will apply My Best Buy points to accounts. You will receive an email once points have been deposited. Products purchased prior to March 12, 2018 are ineligible for this program.

How do I know if I am a Member Purchase Promise participant?

Participants received an email notifying them they were included in this limited-time program. We picked select My Best Buy Members from select geographic areas (Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico customers are not included) to participate in the Member Purchase Promise program. We are not adding new participants at this time.

What if I receive a Price Match on my product after purchase?

If you request and receive a price match on your product after purchase, our comparison would be to the lower price. In the above example, if you purchased the product for $100 and Best Buy drops the price to $90, and you receive a price match to the $90 price, we would base any additional points for you on the $90 price matched price (not the $100 purchase price). In the above scenario, you would receive 0 points.

For the price comparison, do you look at Best Buy in-store or online price for the post purchase price comparison?

Best Buy looks at both in-store and online prices available to all customers, and the customer will receive the benefit of the lower price. Please note the Promise is looking at Best Buy prices and not competitor prices. Also, Best Buy does not include pricing errors, bundle pricing, returned items, the pricing of items on Clearance or items for sale Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving when calculating points.

Dealers may not participate in this program. Best Buy reserves the right to terminate participation in this program at our sole discretion. Other limitations may apply. Best Buy may run tests of this Promise in select markets and may amend these terms at any time.
