    I took a shot on this service after I tried to increase the WIFI network coverage in my home on my own and couldn't come up with a good solution. My upstairs computer and devices were getting very slow and choppy WIFI signal. The tech was on time and very nice, but unfortunately, when he left, my network was slower and less reliable than before he came. He told me he would personally return again the next week (which would have been today) between 8-12 to retry a few things "free of charge" to help boost my home network. He even gave me his personal cell # so I could reach him directly. Well, after numerous texts and calls, I am unable to get ahold of him. It's almost noon on the day he was supposed to return, and I've heard nothing. A few minutes ago, I received an email stating I have a new GeekSquad appointment set up for 2 days from now which was apparently set up without my consent or approval, and of course is a day when I'm unavailable. Long story short, a huge disappointment and I will be attempting to get a refund. $100 for this service seems a bit ridiculous after this experience.

    Hard drive replacement

    When an agent came to our home to install a new router and connect to our devices, he noticed that one of our computers was not operating correctly. He thought that the hard drive was defective and that a diagnostic, done by Best Buy, could determine the issues. We went to Best Buy the following day to submit the computer for test. The experience was a total pleasure. The Geek Squad agents were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. After the diagnostic, it was confirmed that the hard drive was in need of replacement. In just a couple of days, the hard drive was replaced. While having a computer with problems is not pleasant, the experience with the Best Buy Geek Squad was a complete and total enjoyment. The agents were personable while being accomplished technicians.

    When i purchased a TV the employee directed me to this service plan indicating I could cancel at no charge w/in 1 month. 1 called once w/in the month for internet issues i was having but they wanted to charge me a fee to fix it. When I tried to cancel the service plan (w/in 1 month) they wanted to charge me another fee. And further told me i needed to go into the store the cancel it. Why is this so difficult? I will never get this service ever again.

    I had one minor question. I called and was told they do not provide tech support to that system. But they could schedule me for a $99 in house set-up. I did schedule it but after I got my question answered on the Netgear web-site I cancelled the appointment. My previous router was from Netgear and never had any problems. I hope the same is true with this one because I have no confidence that the geek squd will be of any help.

    I did like the highly skilled local tech at the store with the best techs at the main store for the city. I understand and like the idea they plug my computer into a port and the remote server does all the automated eval and software and disk file fixing. The hardware turnaround for a fix is too slow. I do not care if my computer is shipped away for a hardware fix and returned to me if it gets fixed the 1st time.

    I needed a modem/router combo to replace a Cable One modem and my own LinkSys router. My computers were running slowly and required an extender to cover my 1600 sq.ft. house - not satisfactory! The Geek Squad installed the product I bought and made sure all tablets, phones, tv's, and computers in the house worked well with it. They were very professional.

    The Geek squad is such an awesome support for people who need a little help at home (or in store) I had 3 computers on my plan and one was for my mom who lives with me. Having them come to the house when she had issues with hardware, software, or internet kept my mom (89years) communicating with family and friends, online shopping, and entertainment!!!     Kirk from Geek Squad came to set up my new wifi and several new devices. Turns out, i already knew how to do all that stuff, but the problem was with some dead spots in the house and I just didn't feel like dealing with it. Kirk was great regardless! I learned that there is metal in projector screens so it interferes with wifi and that Kirk is my neighbor. Crazy. Everything has worked perfectly since!
