A bidet is basically a shallow plumbing fixture that sprays water as an alternative to using toilet paper. You’ll often see a bidet positioned next to a toilet. A bidet is not a replacement for a toilet but rather a different, hygienic way to clean up afterward. The defining characteristic of any bidet toilet is the spray nozzle. Some bidets feature dual nozzles, one with a regular posterior wash and one for a feminine wash. After washing off, pat dry with a towel, rinse out the basin and then, of course, wash your hands with soap and water. You can add a bidet or bidet seat to your toilet and it will function similarly as a toilet with a built-in bidet. There are a variety of adjustable settings on bidet attachments, too. Before and after use, self-cleaning bidets will rinse the nozzle to ensure each experience is hygienic.
