Still holds up
I was nine years old when this movie came out and really enjoyed it. Sure, the special effects are a bit dated now, but the movie overall holds up pretty well (it's definitely better than the sequels). There's actually a bit more depth to the storylines and characters than I remembered. My one gripe with the DVD--no special features. There was a behind-the-scenes special that aired on the Disney Channel back in the day and they didn't even put that on the DVD! Come on, Disney! The movie's 30 years old this year and nothing (yes, I realize this DVD was released several years ago, but there's no anniversary editions available).

Childhood nostalgia rolling in
This movie is a classic. I saw it when I was 8 years old, and my eyes bugged out when I saw it for $3.99. The special effects are great for a 90s movie, great story, and good message to younger kids about how strangers can be brought together despite differences. Love this movie.

Great kids movie
If you want a movie that will appeal to tweens, this movie is a good choice. It is a family comedy with a unique twist and amazing special effects. This isnt a current movie, but will still entertain young audiences with this cute story line.
