    Great filter, app needs improvement

Pros: Quiet, effective, great design, 5 year warranty. Cons: App scheduling is lousy, HPA300 is a better value. AHAM CADR rating: 200-smoke, >190-dust, >180-pollen. Dimensions: 10x20x22. Cleans: 310sq. feet My apartment is terribly dusty due to the heating ducts and it was getting to the point where I could barely breathe at night so I did my research and invested in this HPA250. I was excited about the auto VOC sensor mode but was surprised that it stayed on the lowest "germ" setting so it's pretty much a useless feature because obviously I wasn't happy with my air quality so I put it on "general" when I'm home, "germ" when I'm sleeping, and "Turbo" when I'm away bc that setting is loud but works well. I love that this can be right up against a wall because the air comes in the front and out the top. Let me state that even on the lowest setting the cleaned air smells like summer air at the beach. When I move my nose back away it's like having a dust ball thrown at my face. That's the difference so this product obviously works wonders. The app however is a big let down (1.0.0 at time of writing). Pairing took several attempts and the scheduling feature is useless. I want to set 8am-4pm "allergen", 4-5pm "turbo clean", 5-9 "general clean", and 9pm-8am "germ" on weekdays // weekends should be 12-9pm "general clean", 9pm-11:59am "germ" mode - all based on noise levels throughout the day. However, you're only given one option once/day otherwise it turns off. There is so much potential in this app if they improve the scheduling system and fix the bugs. Everything else about this app is terrific though. *important note: your phone must have bluetooth 4.0 or newer for the app to work. This will likely leave 90% of customers out of luck but I applaud it because 4.0 saves battery life. Unless you're a tech junkie go for the HPA300 available on the Best Buy marketplace which lacks bluetooth but cleans 30% more.

Got this air purifier to help with the allergies around the house, including pollen and three cats. It has two good sized HEPA filters and a carbon prefilter to remove some odor and larger particles. It has 4 different modes which are essentially how fast the fan is moving. The lowest setting is fairly quite, all the rest are somewhat noisy as fans can be. We routinely use the second lowest setting in our bedroom and it is a pleasant white noise in the background. I have even had the purifier in rooms where we are watching TV or playing games, and it did not detract from our experience at all. It has made a noticeable decrease in dust floating around in the rooms where we use it regularly, and has even reduced some of the cooking smells that can move to other rooms. We have run this purifier for the majority of each day for the last month with very little down time on it. There has been no noticeable increase in noise and it performs the same now as when we took it out of the box. It is a nice looking device, not too big, and fairly light to carry from room to room as needed. It easily tucks away in a corner or side wall to do its work while we are away or sleeping. In addition to the expected controls, it has an app to control the device from your mobile phone through bluetooth. The app is fairly minimal due to the limited number of controls on the purifier, but it does include allergen alerts for your general area as a bonus.

in order to unlock more functionality of this unit you must download the app it is available in google play ,although the app has not been updated since last year so if you buy multiple units it's going to be harder for some to control multiple units with the app on lollipop, but the options that are available with the app are great including setting cleaning schedules for different days of the week and allergen alert settings for your city this feature will automatically adjust your unit according to your local allergen reports, filters are easy to change and install. would personally recommend buying the A+ prefilter especially for voc extraction, those filters are reasonabley priced the drawback is that you would have to cut them by hand but it actually gives you four prefilters enough for the whole year,I own two units that I purchased through Best Buy one located in my front room the other located in my bedroom.Pet owners units do pick up a tremendous amount of pet dander wow "I never knew what was in my air" after a week of having both an extra bonus is that they do push quite a bit of air for being placed in a medium sized rooms just to make sure that you try to place them in a central location if at all possible the Honeywell hpa250b is the best unit overal for the functionality and the price the others in the honeywell hpa 200 series group are different variants minus the Bluetooth functionality and VOC feature,if you can catch this model variant at best buy on sale its a great deal

Nice Auto Sensor and Bluetooth Feature

I bought the unit during the firestorm in Napa where smokes travel down to Vallejo area and basically the entire East Bay area. The auto sensor turned on immediately picking up where it bekieves should start at a certain level to get as much cleaner air into the room. But first, I downloaded an app from an IOS, Apple 6 Plus to sync the unit with my phone so I could remotely turn the unit on; however, I haven't tried to turn it on while I'm at work. Anywhere from my room, it works especially when the auto-sensor detects any slight odor close to it's proximity. Just imagine making steak or something flavorful in the kitchen. My concern is the filter replacement. I ran it a few hrs a day for maybe 3x/week since i bought it. Within weeks, the prefilter is about 1/4 used. If I leave it on auto sensor all day for 4 weeks, I might have to replace the prefilter once a month. It might be worth it for some. But I mainly turned mine on when I'm cooking. The Napa fire smokes didn't come into the rooms since I had the windows closed but the unit worked as best as it could given the situation I presented to the unit.

This past Spring, in our area the tree pollen was exceptionally bad and I my allergies were in full force. Watery, itchy eyes, trouble breathing, (etc..). So about two months ago, I bought this Honeywell air purifier my bedroom. It was easy to set up and within just a couple of hours of operation, I could already notice the difference. At first, I turned it up to its highest level but eventually I set it to its automatic mode, which is usually very quiet unless it detects some large amount of impurity in the air. In fact, I liked the unit so much, within a week I was back at Best Buy, purchasing a second one for my office. What more can I say than it works great and is well worth the investment. The only difficulty I've had is with the blue-tooth. I don't think they've worked out all of the bugs in the software yet. It seems that when I try to pair the second unit to my phone, the system loses it's pairing with the first unit. For me, that's not really a big deal because for the most part, these units are "set it and forget it". Besides, I'm not about to go find my phone and turn it on just to adjust the air purifier which is already right in front of me with the controls on the top. Just a gimmick.

You can tell the difference in the air quality after the first night. If you're familiar with stuffy or clogged nostrils, try this and see if there is a difference. It is a true HEPA air purifier, and it is NOT an ozone generator (a good thing). If you like to vape in your room, I highly recommend this purifier. It has reduced the odor and the boxed/cloudy room that can be a nuisance to other guests. It also purifies farts, with the VOC sensor on, it picks up my farts every single time! Hilarious yet wonderful. Change the pre-filter every 3 months and the main filter once a year. Simple enough. App works but it seems to be pretty buggy for other users. App works fine with me, IPhone 6. I call this machine Kirby. I love Kirby. I recommend Kirby. Let it purify your farts today! (Some people say they wash the pre-filter. Do not do this. Just use tape to collect the dust on top of the pre-filter(like a lint roller, which also works). I would still recommend changing it every 3 months though. It's about $8 for two)

Have you ever sat in a sunny room and seen all of those particles dancing in the light, flying around you? If so, you will benefit from this product. If you have a pet, electronics, enjoy an open window on a warm day...this product is for you. I am amazed at how clean the air smells, and how dust particles and dander have dissipated! It's super quiet on GERM mode, that's what I use for sleep, and during the day I let it cycle automatically to the best setting by choosing the VOC sensor. Even at its noisiest setting, it's more quiet than an air conditioner or refrigerator fan, and you and your family will breathe better and healthier. Bluetooth control is easy to set up and control with app from Google Play or app store, convenient but not necessary function if you want to save a few bucks and get the model without it...Advice- Wait for sale price or try an Open Box item, but if you buy an open box (like I did) you might need to buy a new pre-filter ( as I did because it arrived a bit dusty) or vacuum it before using. Use this in Mid to Large size living or office space, smaller models available for smaller rooms.

OK the air filter is great and is easy to move from room to room to keep the better half happy. This is about the largest square footage room capacity in the store, so wanted to be sure to have something big enough for the job. No complaints about the function, but man that bluetooth is a royal pain. Paired OK for a day or two and then has become so unreliable that it's easier just to forget about the bluetooth and change the settings by hand. I would have just returned the unit if there was a lower price with no bluetooth but same room capacity, but nothing available. I guess i paid more for the super-duper modern feature of the bluetooth non-feature, but not worth the hassle of trying to shop around to save the money on a "non-bluetooth" with all other features the same. Overall, I would buy another identical unit to have another one in the house, but not until they go on sale and the "extra" for the bluetooth nonsense can be factored out of the price.
