I have to buy these at least twice a year due to hard water. The blue version does not last as long as these new white version. Also notice the humidity level rises faster with these too. The only draw back is that I have to add water daily which is not a problem for me. I set the humidity at max. Great for people with allergies since it cleans the air while adding humidity.

These filters are easy to use and replace. With a little care; rinsing them and turning them, from end to end; they last a good while. With the little care, mentioned above, odors are not a problem. My first filter has been in use, for nearly six weeks. I'm beginning to think about changing it; but it is still doing it's job and not emitting any foul odors. I guess, I'll just have to keep an eye on it. No sense, being wasteful. You may want to read my review, of the humidifier; I use this in. It is the Honeywell - QuietCare UV Tower 3-Gallon Humidifier, I purchased from Best Buy.

Wish the filters lasted longer. Usually can get a month or so out of them before they start breaking down. It would be good to have one that lasts the winter season. Reasonable price though
