not a non He machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this was advertised as a non He washing machine. I was very upset to find out it is a He low water machine. the machine never filled up more then half way. its super sensitive when closing the lid , sometimes starting a wash cycle so that's not good, its super noisy I can hear it upstairs and the first few weeks my dogs went nuts every time I used it because of the loud sound . you need to really be careful on the detergent using only half of the recommended amount or else it will leave residue . i am finding that i have to put my wash thru 2 wash cycles to get it to clean right. the store cut the cost after they came over for a service call . but still not happy with it. the only good thing is it does spin out very well with no damage to clothes like some he machines. it does a great job of getting the water out of the clothes , but the water level really stinks for the wash load. i do not recommend if you have lots of laundry . this if fine for a single person or couple since small loads clean better , but there is no way it could handle the wash load of a family unless you want to spend hrs doing smaller loads to get them clean

Sludge, sludge and MORE SLUDGE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow... I purchased this product and I was amazed at how noisey it was.... just wow... as time went on the noise got worse. One day I was in my home and I heard what sounded loke a cat moaning in pain. I literally searched the house for 10 minutes and then realized the noise was coming from the washer. Also, our clothing started smelling worse than they went in.... could not figure out why. We treied changing brands of soap, we barely filled the drum and we even used a laundry boost. Then, one day as I removed the top of the agitator to clean it I found a collection OF SLUGE inside the agitator!! I have used a top loader for 30 plos years and never seen thst before. We are giving it away as we cannot in good conscience sell it. We are going with another Whirlpool Brand. Stay away from Hotpoint... it's like the red headed step child of washers.

Posted .Hello. We appreciate you reaching out, though we truly hate to hear you’ve had issues with your washer. We know any issue with noise or an unexpected residue in the agitator would be worrying, and this certainly isn’t the performance we expect. Your experience will be shared with our team for review. Regarding the noise, we do expect the washer to make some sounds as it operates, and if it might be helpful we have a description of possible noises on page 26 of the manual; if you’d like to view that online, you can do so on our Hotpoint website when you look up the model number and go to the product’s page. Making sure the load size is right for the chosen cycle, the basket is loaded evenly and the washer itself is level may help reduce noise, as this can lessen vibration. Regarding the residue in the agitator, we have care and cleaning details on page 17 of the manual that may help, as well as an article on our associated GE Appliances website about how to clean inside the agitator. The article can be viewed on that website when you look up the title “Top Load Washer – Cleaning Inside Agitator” and click the Support tab. If you think the residue may be from detergent, using warmer water to make sure it fully dissolves might also help. We hope this information is useful for you, and going forward we’ll do everything we can to earn your trust in our brand. We’re always available here or over social media if you have any other concerns or questions. -Sarah@Hotpoint

Hot Washer Right on Point
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer is great overall for those looking for a basic, durable washer without the bells and whistles. The tub is decent sized, the machine is very durable, it is simple to use, comes with clear instructions for choosing correct load type/features, does a thorough job cleaning clothes, and is excellent at removing excess water from the load at the end of a cycle. The only thing I would recommend for someone is to make sure the load stays balanced throughout wash cycle. Most loads stay balanced if loaded properly from the beginning, resulting in no issues. However, I had to pause it once due to loud banging, and had to redistribute load evenly in tub. This is just something to keep in mind as this is a very powerful washer. I have no regrets buying this washer and look forward to enjoying my clean clothes for many years to come with the help of this durable machine. The matching dryer for this machine is great, too. Ironically, the dryer does not have to work very hard given the washer always gets my loads fairly dry after a wash cycle (damp, with no dripping water).

Does not rinse clothes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one does not rinse the clothes, and there is no setting to go in and just rerinse the clothes (deep rinse did not help). We noticed that the clothes did not seem clean, and kind of CRUNCHY after drying them. That is because their was still soap residue on them. Even after running the clothes through a second time (with no soap added), as seen in the picture there was still soap in the basket.

Q: QuestionWill this washer accommodate a King size comforter?
Asked by Claud.
- A:Answer no way...I washed a twin and I put it thru 2 wash cycles to throughly clean it, but I had to adjust to deep rinse mode for fabric softener to get it to clean. the tub only fills up halfway. this is not a non he machine as they have it advertised. this is very much a he machine with no way of adding any additional water for larger loads.

Q: QuestionHi, does this machine offer a feature to soak clothes overnight?
Asked by Kai.
- A:Answer This washer was advertised as a non he washer. It is not...it has a automatic soak during the wash cycle. I would not recommend this washer . There is no way to add more water to the wash cycle and the tub only fills a third of the way up so you have to do small loads. It had a hard time washing a twin comforter. I have had it now a month and truly regret buying it. It is loud enough to be heard from the basement to the second floor. It does spin really well, but that's about it.

Q: QuestionDoes this washer have an express wash? It takes a long time for a load of wash .
Asked by Jerseygirl.
- A:Answer This washer does not have an express wash. While it will wash at a normal pace, the final spin cycle is fairly long, lasting nearly ten minutes. This long final spin cycle will get clothes really dry, reducing dryer time for clothes that are dryer safe. For anyone needing to wash clothes quickly, one would likely have to look at a GE model with express cycle in order to get clothes washed in under 25-30 minutes. Most of my loads take between 33-39 minutes to complete using this particular Hotpoint washer.

Q: QuestionIs there a place to empty any hair or lint that is caught during the wash cycle
Asked by Dennis.
- A:Answer Hello Dennis - Thank you for your question; we are glad to assist! The Fine Mesh Filters were removed from under the agitator of our new washers when it was found that a better pump and larger holes in the hub under the agitator did a better job of removing lint and preventing clogs in the drain system. The drain system allows water to flow through the basket and out the bottom of the tub pulling lint, hair, and small particles with the water. There is no maintenance required on this system, so there is not a way to access the pump for cleaning or maintenance. We hope this information is helpful. Thanks for checking. Olga

Q: QuestionWill the water fill all the way to the top? Can I wash a king size blanket in it?
Asked by susielou.
- A:Answer If you select the bulky items and super load, it will wash king size bedding. I’ve washed my down company store king down comforter- got it thoroughly clean. I’ve washed quilts etc. no problem. Always stays balanced.

Q: QuestionHow can I add fabric softener if I can’t unlock the lid during operation?
Asked by Tiredout.
- A:Answer Hi there, and thanks for reaching out to us. We hate to hear you've had any issue with not being able to add fabric softener because of the lid locking and know that must have caused concern. Newer top-load washers do feature a lid lock that is engaged either when the washer is load-sensing (if that is a feature of the model), or when the basket is spinning above 50 RPM. If you need to add an item, detergent or softener when the cycle has already started, you can do so by pausing the cycle. You do need to wait until the basket has completely slowed to a stop before the lid can be opened, for safety reasons. Depending on the speed it was spinning at and the size of the load, it can take up to 3 minutes to slow enough for the lid to unlock. If you have issues with unlocking the lid past that 3 minute mark, unplugging the washer for a minute to allow the electrical components to reset can be helpful. We hope this information is helpful, and are happy to help with any other questions or concerns. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

Q: QuestionWhere is this washer built?
Asked by Ty.
- A:Answer My owners manual and Hotpoint washer say it is made in the USA. It is made in Louisville, Kentucky at the GE appliance factory. Hotpoint is actually a GE product, and is made at the same plant as some of the GE washers.
