A group of college students looking for kicks on spring break find something much more sinister during a visit to a deserted island in this horror story, which has been given an enriched presentation on DVD. House of the Dead has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. Viewers can choose between three audio formats: Dolby DX Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital Stereo, and DTS ES 6.1. The dialogue is in English, with optional subtitles in English and Spanish, as well as closed captioning in English. A variety of bonus material appears on this edition, including two audio commentary tracks featuring observations from the film's director, producers, and cast; a collection of deleted scenes; a short documentary on the making of the film; a profile of the picture's sexy leading ladies; the original theatrical trailer; and a trial version of the video game Nightshade.
