I recently purchased this computer along with Microsoft 365 for my wife as a gift. The computer is just fine. However, she did not need the Office 365. Although my Best Buy online account indicated the deadline to return the Office 365 was 3/8/2020, the in-store managers refused to allow the return EVEN THOUGH I SHOWED THEM MY ACCOUT INFO. To make it worse, the Best Buy website specifically states unused Office 365 can be returned within 30 days for all customers. I called corporate, and they had no idea why they would not allow the in-store return and even sent me return postage. The staff and managers were incredibly dismissive and did nothing to assist. I’ve never experienced such horrible in-person customer service. Ever. The store location is Southside, Jacksonville, FL. Avoid at all costs. Worst part is I had my 7 year old daughter with me, and we were planning to buy a family video game, not to mention the $200 cable modem I went there to buy. Simply awful Best Buy.

I was upgrading my Acer Chromebook 15 when I purchased this. The Acer is great and is still in use in my home but I wanted higher ram and a faster processor (the Acer was only 4gb and an older Celeron). I also was wanting something the same screen size. This ticks off all those. I will say I was hesitant to buy this because I didn't really want to go back to a fanned unit after having a Chromebook for years without one but decided the improved speed and ability to handle heavier tasks was worth it. I had previously bought and returned the very similar HP 14 2-in-1 about a year ago because the fan kicked on LOUDLY every several seconds simply watching a YouTube video with only 2 other Chrome tabs and nothing else open. I was worried about that but I'm happy to report while I have heard the fan on this a few times it's been a quick and quiet whirl instead of the full blown blast the 14 was (confirming my belief and the reason I returned the 14 that it wasn't working correctly). When I first received this and set it up I decided to test it buy launching 6 different YouTube videos and playing all at once just to see how it handled it. It easily ran them and swapped between the tabs. On the regular though I'm "watching" a YouTube video in one tab and might have 3 or 4 other tabs open as well as constantly running the Android app version of Google Voice up for texting purposes. It hasn't so much as flinched and I'm certain I could easily run much more. The only reason it's not getting a full 5 stars is I do find it a little heavy. According to the specs it's only supposed to be 0.4 ounces heavier than my Acer but it feels much heavier. That said it's a very sturdy build so I'm not super mad at the heft. I would just warn this probably isn't the machine you would want to chart with you to school every day. But you do you! I'm using it in my bedroom where the most I'm doing is moving it from my bed to my desk and vice versa. Finally while I think with what you get it's worth the full asking price I would warn to try to wait out and wait for this one sale. I got it for $399, my understanding is it goes on sale around that fairly frequently. I've even seen some reviews say as low as $350 and at that price this is a steal.

I love this thing! Pros: Love the keyboard! Keys are nice to type, backlit (can adjust with 4 levels), really happy about having a number pad! Screen's really nice to look at. Big touchscreen Laptop itself feels sleek and quality. Love the white and blue combo Performance is sooo nice. No hiccups, gets what you want done Battery seems to last. Had it on 4 hours (about 70% brightness) and asleep for almost a whole day and it's at 70% saying 8 hours left The only nitpick I have is the track pad where i notice my fingers skid/halt when using it sometimes. Probably gonna get better used to it overtime Other stuff: The screen has a bit of a warm tint where it washes colors out a little bit. You'll notice it if you're seeing it with a different screen next to it but really, everything looks wonderful anyways The brightness isn't really high. You won't see much if you're gonna use it outside This isn't a 2-in-1. You can opt out the number pad and get the HP x360 14 for that but get half the storage and default to an i3 processor. (Some of them come with i5 instead if you're lucky, check the box to see) Speakers are your typical laptop speakers, no bass etc I hear people say the fans go loud a lot but I've only noticed it when I first set the machine up and when installing Linux apps Overall I'm really loving it and think it's gonna last a great while! I come from using Windows machines that slow down after a few months and have to restart every time I decide to use them so this is night and day for me!
