The only problem I have with this program was understanding it. Now that I do, I highly recommend that if you print anything on a printer - sign up for this program. The cost is per page - not how much ink you use. If you print a page with one character - that is a page. If you print an 8x10 photo - that is one page. You do not have to worry about ink. The printer talks to HP Instant Ink and lets it know when the ink cartridges are running low. The ink is sent to your house and you return in the old cartridges in a prepaid envelope. You can move back and forth between plans as you need from month to month. IF you go over on a plan - you are charged the same per page amount as the plan you are on but have to purchase the page allotments in specific amounts ($2.99/50 pages = 15 pages for $1; $4.99/100 = 20 pages for $1; etc). BUT there is a rollover plan so you don't loose. They help you trouble shoot if it is a software problem/installation problem and readily give you pages back used during the process. I am so happy with the program. I don't have to worry about ink and the price is very reasonable. Thank you HP Instant Ink.

Good Print, But Too Expensive For Usage Capacity

The print quality of all HP cartridges I have used since my use of the 21 Black and 20 Tricolor with my HP 6300 Series all-in-one printer have been good. I now have an HP ENVY 4500 printer and now have to use the 61s. I was in search of an XL combo package as I know that the non-XL versions of these latest set of HP cartridges do not last very long. However, I could not find a non-XL combo package and surmised that it may not exist because the price would be quite intimidating for the average consumer. But the advantage would be a discount from the 2-in-1 package - minimal though it's likely to be - and not having to change cartridges too frequently though I must admit that HP has improved on the installation and removal of their ink cartridges. Anyway, the relatively good news for me with this purchase is that another vendor had the item on sale and Best Buy matched the price. Nevertheless, the cartridges are still too expensive, and especially so when the latest all-in-one printers seem to be providing fewer and fewer ways of minimizing use of ink especially where the copy function is concerned.

Good Ink, but there seems much less of it

After reading several other reviews, I'm wondering if the cartridges have less ink in them than they used to. When I got my HP Envy 4500 all in one Christmas of 2013, the cartridges I used (not including the smaller "starter" one that came with the printer) seemed to last close to the estimated pages that HP lists. The color cartridges seem to last longer, but then again I don't print in color as much. I have done nothing different, I even use the same font/size that I've always used, but the last 2 or 3 cartridges (that are genuine HP new black ink cartridges) just aren't printing anywhere near what they used to, or what HP says they should. Others have noticed this as well. I wonder if HP is doing what so many others are with products...offering less content/smaller size for the same price. I'd rather pay a bit more & get the number of pages I used to. So I gave 3 stars instead of more because while the ink itself is good, there appears to be much less of it than before & it is getting pricey to continue replacing it.

I bought the Book with great expectations because of the reviews I had read. When I turned it on for the very first time it asked for a name and password. It seems that when they tested it the person forgot to put it back to the set up page. I had to take it back to the store and they figured out how to get it back to where it needed to be. The directions that came with were useless. I would have returned it if we couldn't have fixed it. For $2100, this computer was no better than any of the others I've had because Windows 10 has it's problems. For example, it took 4 tries to get a firmware update downloaded and installed. Because of the small screen, some programs I put on the computer where to small to read and therefore useless. Overall with all the problems I have encountered with this computer, I would rate it average to a little below average. If you buy one....I wish you good luck.

My printer requires this type of ink. I like original cartidges as refills and imitations are usually inferior quality and prone to leakage, running or clotting, and "jazzing" up the printhead. Ink/toner can get quite EXPENSIVE too! HP ink is VERY good in spite of its HIGH price. I wish it were more price competitive without having customers join any sort of "memberships" or auto-reordering agreements. Surely, considerations of print volume, paper type, and ink pricing are and should be major factors in purchasing printers. Knowledge and experience are wonderful things! Shipping is fast and a postage free, returnable, used cartridge recycling bag is provided with each purchase. Nice!

I bought this product and went straight home to use it for my son's homework. Printed about 4 sheets. Not much ink was used. The next day I go to use and I kept getting an error message that the cartridge was not installed correctly. I followed the directions to try and correct the problem. Did this 6 times to no avail. It would not let me print at all. Big inconvenience since I was printing something that had to be turned in eaept the next day. Rushed to the store to return it and had to get a brand new cartridge. Luckily Best Buy was great and replaced it for me with no problem. That is the reason it gets 4stars. Also the fact that this was the first time this has happened.

After signing up for the HP Instant Ink program at $2.99 a month, we discovered we were not printing on a full time basis. We had the same initial cartridges from that program for over 12 months. Once we decided to stop the automated plan, I was pleasantly surprised to find the price for a supply of black & color cartridges was extremely reasonably for our printing habits. I just wish I could have convinced HP to send me a set of cartridges since I really did pay for these thru the automated plan - lessoned learned. Plus is took HP TWO months to stop the billing after my first contact not happy about that!

I have to say, HP printers are the best. I have yet to have an issue with any HP printer. I bought an Envy 5530 all in one that does everything I need. These cartridges are easy to install, and although a bit pricey, they are cheaper than other printer cartridges. I took one star away because they used to offer a little recycling program where you could send you old ones back in. Now, the used cartridges no doubt end up in a landfill. I never have any bleed through from too much ink and the colors are what they purport themselves to be. Great cartridges A wee bit expensive.
