    I bought an HP printer a few years ago and this was the recommended cartridge for the printer. I've been buying this ink cartridge since then and it's been working great for me. However, it all depends on what you print and how often you print. This was a great buy for me because of how I use this ink cartridge. I mainly print things out at work since we have a laser printer there; not to mention it's free and I don't have to pay for ink or for paper. So my HP home printer doesn't get used often. But whenever I do use it, this ink cartridge has worked just fine. I always print in black/grayscale and hardly in color. If I need to print in color I'll do it at work. One of these HP ink cartridges will last me six to seven months since I don't print a lot of stuff. When I do print things, it's mainly a few pages here and there. I've never had an issue with the ink drying up. Sometimes I won't print anything for a month or two, and then I'll need to print something one day. The cartridge works fine and prints the document without any issues. So for me, this is a great buy and I'm happy with it. Not to mention the price was less expensive here on Amazon versus the local retail stores like Staples or Office Depot.

    When I replace ink cartridges, which seem to cost almost as much as a new printer anymore, I want to be able to swap cartridges and have it just work as advertised. Buying brand name to match brand name makes the most sense to me, as I have tried off-brands and refilling, and have rarely had that work seamlessly. Plus, refilling takes time (my time is valuable to me) and can be messy. HP cartridges for me, have always worked right the first time, so for minimal effort, ease of replacement, stay with the name brand. If you have the time, want to take the risk, and gamble on saving money, try another method. If the other methods fail, though, you end up buying the brand name anyway.;

    This ink seems to yield an average to above average amount of printing. I have learned to no longer say I have had this cartridge in for this amount of time, but to instead gauge how many prints I've printed out. I like the performance of the ink on paper and photo prints. Although the only issue I have is the sensor on these HP ink cartridge(s) and the sensor in the HP printer getting together to try to dupe me into thinking that my ink is so low that I need to replace. I ignore the notifications and the visuals of the ink balances and I play it by eyeball. If my prints still look great then I do not replace the ink.

    I use this Ink cartridge in an HP wireless printer to print invoices for customers in the field as I operate a mobile business and generate invoices on the fly. The cartridge and printer sometimes has difficulties communicating with my iPad device and seems to mislead on the amount of ink left in the cartridge. Could be the iPad software. As with most ink cartridges these days it seems to run out rather quickly. I have tried the XL version of this cartridge but my printer software constantly tells me I'm low on ink when I'm not and that's not worth the savings. All in all this product is a must have for me and I will continue to purchase it until I upgrade my printer.

    Just like my color ink cartridges, I had better luck using these HP replacement cartridges than some refilled ones by other manufactures in the past in other deskjets. In fairness, I could have made mistakes using or installing the others, but it's nice to just click n go with these with confidence. NOTE that in my research in the past, I found that the expiration dates on the packaging DO matter, and found the store shelf's inventory to not be rotated, so look through to make sure you get the freshest...and once installed, print something periodically, even a test page, or the jets can get clogged.

    The ink can only last just as long as you don' t print so much. Even if i wanted to print out labels, CD labels and the like, I would run out of run of ink pretty quick. I may have no choice, but having to buy new ink efficient printer in the future, but I cannot say the brand name here what I want to purchase. The best thing to do with these ink cartridges is try to be frugal with printing, and not getting too used to printing so much. Try to print as much as necessary like important documents and photos. Believe me these ink cartridges are not cheap and expensive.

    I normally purchase printer ink from wherever the price is right, which is usually BB, however this particular cartridge of ink is not working in my printer & due to me buying the cartridge months ago & just now installing it I can't return it. I won't be buying ink from BB anymore. There's some write ups on the web about cartridges with certain dates not working on older printers even if it's the correct number on cartridge like my # is HP-61 the old used cartridge has a date of 2016 & this new cartridge has 2018, the problem is you have to open the package to see this number
