While wireless printing is great (and this can be used for wirless printing if hooked up to a router that supports it, of course), many of us just want a simple and inexpensive printer for that occasional document. This excels here. HP printers are built to last, it's highly affordable, and it's ink is cheap to replace as well. It's a good old inkjet like what used to dominate the market. No computer screen or WiFi setup, etc. All those are great, of course, but if you want a simple inkjet for that occasional document you print from your computer and don't need phone/tablet printing etc - this is for you. The money you will save can be used towards cooler tech anyways - because no matter what printer you have, if you print from across the house you still need to go collect the printed pages ;-).

For simple printing this is the cheapest deal to be had if you don't need wireless printing. You do need a printer cable (purchased separately for about $25) it has a USB 2.0 end and then a 'square-ish' end that will connect to the printer. It comes both with a black and color ink cartridges and make sure to 'push hard till it clicks in' the ink cartridges into the proper slot. As of April 2016 there is at least one software update for the printer and can be done with 'internet connection.' If you connect to the internet for the registration and software update there is no need to use the supplied install disc. The install disc will be needed only if you have no 'internet connection'. For advanced users, beware of HP bloatware.

This printer is reliable and low cost. I have only used it for basic printing needs and am quite happy with it. I chose this printer because a more expensive printer from Canon gave me problems when not used for long periods of time and had 5 ink cartridges that were expensive and ran out of ink quickly. This printer has only 2 cartridges (color and black) and the cartridges are relatively affordable. I also like that the HP will continue to print in black even if the color cartridge is empty (unlike the Canon that would fail to print if even one of the cartridges was empty). Set up was simple and after 2 months of light use, I have not encountered any problems.

I didn’t want a printer with a fax line, a scanner, and/or a copier, and it didn’t have to have WiFi capabilities. Just a simple basic printer that will print out my family photos, and the occasional sheets of paper. This printer is wonderful. The pictures are high quality, and the printer itself is sleek and semi-portable. Though I wouldn’t label it as a “portable printer”, it is VERY lightweight and doesn’t take up very much space. It doesn’t print very fast, but for my personal usage speed isn’t necessary. If I were a student or using it for work purposes and had to printer multiple sheets of papers very often then this would probably have to go back, lol. It’s also quite quiet. :) FYI: it ONLY comes with a power cord - the cable is NOT INCLUDED and MUST be purchased separately.

I was pretty sure this cheap little printer was not going to handle the labels an business cards I print on it. But at the price I got it for. It was worth the risk. I am Thrilled with this printer! My labels look professional my cards look great!!! Some times a big surprise comes with a small price tag. Love this little printer

Only used it once so far it seems fine. Got such a great price on it for Black Friday and it came with the cartridges! It's lightweight and compact for my small desk.

Just finding a basic printer is getting harder and harder. This one does its work without complaining. No wifi, no multifunction, It just prints.
