Affordable ink! Durable printer! World's smallest!

      • Top 1000 ContributorTop 1000 Contributor

This is the best printer under $70! Pros and cons. PROS: 1. Size: This is the world's smallest all-in-one printer. 2. Cost: It is an affordable printer that is also incredibly cheap for ink (<$15 for retail ink, or $3 per month for instant ink). Most home users spend $36 per year for instant ink and never run out. Other printers on the market (Epson, Brother, Canon, and old HP Deskjets) were cheap up front and expensive in the long run. This printer is affordable in the long run. 3. Durability: Printheads are built into the cartridge, so if print quality degrades you can swap out the cartridges to fix any problems. Streaks on page? Swap out cartridges! Problem fixed! This makes it a very long-lasting printer. 4. Single cartridge mode: you can print in i.e. black and white even if you don't have blue. 5. Connectivity: apple airprint, google cloud print, android drivers, windows drivers, mac drivers, you can print from Windows 10 Phones, tablets, and PC's. You can even print from blackberries and flip phones -- or any device anywhere in the world with HP ePrint. 5. Ease of use: very low maintenance. You only have to worry about two cartridges: black and color. You don't have to worry about printheads. If you sign up for HP Instant Ink you don't even have to worry about the ink! It's a very, very simple and easy printer to use. CONS: 1. Scanner: If you check the manufacturer website at and use your eyes, you'll see this has a pass-through scanner. HP removed the flatbed to reduce the size. It's great for most things, but not thicker media (books, etc.) 2. Duty cycle: This printer has a duty cycle of 1,000 pages per month, so I wouldn't recommend getting this if you're printing more than 300 pages per month. 3. Speed: This isn't the fastest printer in the world. (HP makes that too -- it's called the HP PageWide.) The speed of this $69 Deskjet 3755 is fine for the average home user, but not for heavy printers like Ph.D students. 4. Page yield (not instant ink): If you are not using instant ink, you only get about 120 standard documents in black cartridges and 100 standard documents in the color cartridges. The average person prints 43 pages per month, so you'd be buying ink regularly. Just do instant ink. Summary: This is an awesome home printer if you have internet or don't print a lot, but THIS IS NOT A BUSINESS PRINTER. Upgrade to a better printer if you want extremely fast printing or a more durable duty cycle. If you want the best "home-office" printer, check out the HP Officejet 5741. If you want the best "small business" printer, check out the HP Officejet PRO 8730. If you print heavier (hospitals, laboratories, schools, government) check out the 400-series HP Laserjet lineup.

      Very small

I am a big fan of hp printers & only ever buy hp. I had to replace an all-in-one desktop of mine that "SOMEHOW" the glass in the scanner area got shattered. Still to this day don't know what happened nor does anyone in my house for some reason...hmmm. Well, luckily hp is an inexpensive brand & I actually was gifted my last printer, so no $ lost on my part. I purchased this printer for the features & smaller size. This thing turned out to be very small & I love it! It works great & I love the wireless printing capabilities. This printer is fast & doesn't make noise for very long. It's not super quiet, but it prints so fast that it doesn't matter & it's not really loud anyways. I had to take away one star due to the scanner quality. I wasn't used to not being able to lay my document flat to scan & it took a while to be able to figure out how to get the paper to feed through straight. I still have to redo my scan a couple of times trying to get it perfectly straight sometimes. I also am not sure if I could scan something hard like a drivers license or something, so we'll see when that time comes. The quality of the scan is not as good as any other hp all-in-one I had before. It picks up any wrinkle or imperfection in the paper & you can't do much about that. It makes a copy super fast though & I do love that. It also prints out a communication page letting you know that you are connected or if you need to press a button or anything & I love that feature. The ink cartridges are very easily accessible & changed as any other hp printer. The cartridges in this printer are actually less expensive than I've purchased with any of my other hp printers that I've had before as well. I would recommend this printer for its low budget price & this is a perfect printer for space saving as well. If you want 100% perfect scans though, I'd go with an hp printer with the traditional style scanner though. Don't get me wrong, the scan quality isn't bad at all, just not as perfect as I was used to with my other hp all-in-one's.

Happy with printer but one start up issue (below)

      • Verified PurchaserVerified Purchase

I purchased this printer for its compact size and fun mint/sea green color. I previously had a huge, bulky canon pixma printer that took up a ton of space and had very expensive ink ($60-$80 to replace all ink). I love the size and color of the HP deskjet printer and its low cost ink (just $25 total to replace black and color). I'm happy with this printer and would buy again! One thing tho - when I turned on the printer and tried installing the ink for the first time, it made a loud clunking noise, and the ink cartridges wouldn't move. There was this little black piece sticking up blocking the cartridges from moving. I ended up turning off the printer, then pushed the black piece down and released it (did this 2-3 times), then I turned on the printer again - and the black piece finally moved down, allowing the cartridges to move out. Kinda weird and concerning - but I've been using the printer for 2-3 weeks now with no issues. Printing isn't super fast, but neither was my more expensive canon printer, so I'm fine with it. Would buy again.

      Thanks but no thanks

This is the worst printer I’ve ever had. I bought it because I was able to get it for $20 when I purchased my laptop and it seemed to have good reviews. It took me forever to setup, but they could be because of lagging WiFi. It takes for ever to print. My old printer would print a word doc page it a couple seconds, this thing takes like 20 seconds per page. It also doesn’t work half the time and that’s even when I have it plugged into my computer instead of wirelessly printing. I end up unplugging the USB after 10 minutes of it not printing and it goes ahead and decides to print the first couple lines of my document and spit out the rest of the page blank. The scanner is okay, but it does work for small documents or hard ones like a license. Overall my old printer was better and this was honestly a waste of my money. I see why they were having a special, I don’t know how they’d sell them otherwise.

      I suck at technology

      • Verified PurchaserVerified Purchase
      • My Best Buy® MemberMember

I'm technology challenged so this was a feat for me to set up. I thought I'd just be able to plug it in the outlet and then plug it into my laptop and have it good to go, but that wasn't the case. After reviewing some YouTube videos on set up and format instructions, I was able to get this bad boy working (I pretty much need to follow directions better). So far, it has been working as expected. The size is perfect and takes up minimal space on my desk. It looks simple and sleek. I'm not sure if this would be a good printer for long term or extended continuous use as it looks like it may not be able to handle the load. Printer refills are between $11-$15 each, and I don't consider that to be too pricey, but then again, I'm not printing massive amounts of documents. If you want a compact printer, scanner, copier, with basic capabilities, this one is for you.

Lots of features in a small package

I was looking for a good quality All-in-One printer to fit in a small space. This is the only one I could find with all the features and dimensions I needed. It was difficult to set up using the USB cable..I could not get it to work after multiple attempts, even though it looked like it installed correctly. I finally gave up, disconnected the cable, and used the WiFi connection only. It installed and works fine now. The scanner functions by feeding one sheet at a time manually (it is not a flatbed scanner), so if you need to do a lot of scanning, or want to scan from a book or magazine, this is not the printer you need. Print quality is excellent. This is a great solution if you only have a small space, but still want the ability to print, copy, and scan.

Not for college students or those without a router

This was recommended to us by a Best Buy salesperson and they told us that this was a great printer for college students. When my roommate tested it at home it worked very well, the directions were simple. However, the directions supplied were only if one had a router, which college dorms do not have. My roommate and I spent 3 hours in IT services (after lugging the printer half a mile to the office) while multiple people tried to help us connect to it wirelessly. They managed it in the end, but the three hours and the very slow printing speed was hardly worth it in the end. In short, if one has a router at home, it is a simple printer that is slow but functional. But if you're a college student living in the dorms, or simply in a place that doesn't have a router, don't buy it! Find one that will be easily set up without a router.

      Great Back-To-School Printer

Purchased this HP Model after in-store comparisons to similar size/function ink jets. Settled on the 3755 because of its exceptionally small footprint and lightweight-ness; its AirPrint and Ink-Ready option; its print pp speed and its overall aesthetic. My 11-year-old nephew will be the primary user and he thought it was "AWESOME"! I agree especially since the On-Sale price at BB made the final purchase price between $5 and $8 less than every nearby brick-and-mortar competitor. To add icing to the proverbial cake, a $10 BB gift card was awarded as a result of the HP 3755 meeting the criteria for a special promotion. HotDog!!! Bottom Line: GREAT smallish, Multi-Function DeskJet, that should be able to meet light to medium duty print duty for students or small/home business operators.
