Perfect in home printer
|Posted .By far the easiest printer I have ever set up .The wireless almost immediately when I turned the PC Bluetooth on printer connected the phone turn on Bluetooth immediate connection. The head alignment procedure was quick and easy with minimal ink usage compared to others that use all the ink supplied. There is a paper compartment that conceals the paper keeps it fresh dust free The Scanner another slam dunk. Open software choose scanner done starts immediately. The best part Instant Ink I was skeptical I signed up now totally amazed. HP offers multiple plans to suit every need with the option to stop or change plans anytime you want again very simple no phone calls all through the net. The printer must stay online at all times. Prior to completing the instant ink sign up the first supply was already in the system to ship arrived three days later. I have had the unit over a month now I don't get annoying emails its connected HP monitors sends ink and bills accordingly to the chosen plan at a highly discounted price shipping included. Its awesome the best printer I have purchased at a very affordable price.

Envelopes
Posted .After my Canon Pixma drove me to tears attempting to print envelopes, I decided to join the HP printer world. The HP Instant Ink program appealed to me, especially their cheapest plan, which is only a few dollars monthly. They send you ink with no additional charge whenever the printer tells them you're running low. I calculated I'd spend less on ink doing it through the plan than I do buying new ink myself each time. Also this way, it doesn't matter how much ink I use, as they only care about how many pages you print. The lowest plan allows for 50 pages (a buck more for an additional 15), and any unused pages will rollover to the next month (up to 50 for this plan). During the three month free trial period it allows you 300 pages per month, which is great because I am printing a lot more for Christmas. You can always change which tier you want at any time - such as upgrading to their next plan for a few bucks more and get 100 pages. Setting up was a breeze; I downloaded their app with my phone and easily had the printer connect to our network. It printed out it's own email, which I can supposedly email from anywhere to have it print something. I had no trouble with my computer connecting to the printer either, and that was without installing the provided software onto it. The first thing I tested after set up was a photo on regular letter paper which turned out fine. Then came the envelopes. My envelopes were 5.25 x 7.25" - a size they don't have programmed in the printer. I tried selecting the printer's 5x7 option, but it said it didn't match what was in the tray. I tried 5x8 and that worked, though I had to move things around a bit on my iMac to make it look right. The printer says you can input 10 envelopes at a time, though I felt it did better with less. I'm not sure if it's because the size was off, but it consistently bent one corner of the envelopes and left a smudge. Also, ~7 out of every 10 of the envelopes had the color off. Instead of being grey like it was supposed to, it would come out purple. I printed over 60, and it got jammed 3 times. Whether that's too much or acceptable will be personal opinion. After my Canon jammed just about every one, I found this workable. They came out pretty straight, only a few were a little skewed. It's not very fast, but I didn't need it to be. I'd rather keep change in my pocket. It's decent; not a perfect printer, but I was happy to finally get the envelopes printed. I will be contacting HP about the color issue though. I mean, come on, you have one job. A printer should print the color it was told. If you aren't planning on printing envelopes, or only plan on using that feature with a standard size envelope every once in a while, this printer shouldn't give you trouble. If you are planning on printing many envelopes like myself on custom sizes, then you have to weigh the pros and cons I mentioned. Make of this what you will. Hoping this helps with your decision.

Good low cost InkJet printer for personal use
|Posted .Quick and simple setup. This printer does everything I was looking for (scans, prints both sides, prints in color & is wireless). printer itself is "Save 50 % off ink with HP instant ink." A three month free trial is included if you sign up during set up. I attempted to take advantage of this during set up, and I was connected to the internet. I love that it orders the ink for me automatically. AirPrint compatibility is great at this price point. Print quality is very good. The only negative I can see is the paper catcher which is just a super thin stick that swings out . I can see this getting broken off easily.

Hassle free, basic printer
|Posted .I got this printer as part of a deal for buying an HP laptop. Setup was really smooth, via home wi-fi network. Be careful to opt out of HP auto refill offers during setup. It is very portable so can fit in small spaces on desks etc. It has quite small ink cartridges (black & Multicolor) so I'm not sure how long they will last. I'm very pleased with this multi-purpose printer.

Q: QuestionInk lifeDoes the ink last long or does it run out quickly?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Good question. The ink yield depends on how much ink you are using on a page. It also depends on if you choose to use the standard yield cartridges or the high yield XL cartridges. Here are the page yields for each HP 63 ink cartridge for this printer: HP 63 black: ~190 HP 63 tricolor: ~165 HP 63XL black: ~480 HP 63XL tricolor: ~330 Note: The yields are based on 5% page coverage. I hope this helps!

Asked by bddavemci.
- A:Answer Hello, Unfortunately the ENVY 4520 only comes with the power chord, Software CD, Owner's manual inside of the box. You will have to purchase the USB A to B cable and the ethernet cable separately. Hopefully that helps you out, and thanks again for choosing HP.
