High quality photo printer
Posted .Pros mentioned:Photo printing, Print quality, Set upCons mentioned:Errors, TrayI got the HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer, and right out of the box, it comes with about (4) 4x6 photo papers and a black ink cartridge and a color ink cartridge. Eager to test out the true quality, I downloaded some very high definition jungle scene to show vibrant colors and sharp details. Oh it picked it up nicely, and didn't take as long as I thought it would. The 8 1/2 x 11 paper tray doesn't hold many pages, but if this is ONLY for photos, then I don't need to store many in there. It has many cool features, like print from SD card (which was very full and it wouldn't even pull up the photos from my DSLR camera. That's not very good. I was waiting and waiting and it never loaded. I tried to set up my email and have it scan and send to it, but I kept getting an error message "Server error: The printer could not connect to the web services. The server might be busy or temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." My wifi was connected quickly, and was actually easy to set up. It connected to my phone via Bluetooth and it pulled the wifi connection settings that way. Pretty slick, actually. I am able to print from my phone, and grab image from Facebook. Very convenient. There is an HP app (HP Smart) on Google Play. That connects to the printer via WiFi or Bluetooth. I can also print to this printer from outside my house. Not sure how often I would, but I could print a photo and have it ready when I come home. There are some apps like access to my Google Drive, within the printer, that you can use too. Unfortunately I couldn't connect to any. The scanner was really good. I put in a store printed photo, and did a scan of it, and it turned out very nicely. In the glare of the photo, I could see different levels of black/grey in the inkjet printed photo vs the store printed photo, but I have never seen a photo inkjet printer not do that. Overall, I was impressed. My specific printer has connection issues, but after trying it again several days later, still the same result. I'll have to exchange it for a different one, as I'm excited to use the apps and email myself scanned files.

HP Printer Upgrade Dissatisfaction
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality3 out of 5Value2 out of 5Ease of Use2 out of 5Bought this Printer to replace older HP Printer Compact light printer with desirable functions Document feeder for scans, Fax ability, easy to set and use Problems I have encountered in the first month are inconsistency of availability of scanner function via the smartapp Usually have to do a hard start by shutting off computer and printer before it connects When I use scan function via app frequently get a scanner unavailable notice Printing is still functionable so connection seems to be good When I finally am able to scan Normal scan takes over 1 minute per page! MUCH slower than older printer When I edit scans changes not changed consistently or changed incorrectly Scan examples pictures attached Usually takes several attempts to get desired edits

My first printer ... bought for photos
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I love it! The first few months I get free ink per a certain amount of pages I print. I went ahead and opted in for the option of automatic mailed Ink when it senses the printer is low. Make sure you select the right option when printing your photo cause it sometimes defaults to the main tray. I use it even for documents, and regular work things. I am pleased with my purchase.

Easy to set up but terrible print quality
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5I got this to replace a my HP7520 that stopped printing black ink. After calling HP they told me that my printer was out of warranty so they will not trouble shoot. Just keep that in mind when you buy their product, they are telling you it is only going to last 2-4 years. I followed some internet advise and tried rinsing the ink cartridge holder but still no luck. Anyway, this was supposed to be the comparable model so I purchased it. It arrived quickly and no damage to the box. Set up was quick and easy but the print quality is just awful. I use high quality paper, but tried several different kinds and all the bills I print have lines through the totals like the ink is smearing sideways as it prints. To add insult to injury after letting my old printer dry out for the extra couple days... it works again. So this new printer is now a back up in case of emergency only. When my old one dies I will probably not get another HP, their quality has gone down hill and they clearly don't have any intention on making the products last.. just making throw away junk that you can use for a year or two.

Posted .Hi, Jenna.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer is rendering prints of poor quality. I can understand why that would be a great disappointment and a big frustration, especially after purchasing this printer to replace one you liked, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.
First, I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly, and blurred or fuzzy text:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05541385
If your older printer displays the same problem again or another print quality issue, I suggest you follow a similar guide designed for that model. You can find it here:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04770092
For out-of-warranty printers, we do offer a support option: You might consider is posting the details of whatever issue you’re dealing with on our support forums. This is an active community of seasoned experts, including former and current HP employees, who can work with you to get your printer running as it should. To access this, visit the following link: hp.com/supportforum
If the problem with your new printer persists, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can guide you through the proper troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
