Great laptop at a SUPERB price
Posted .This laptop is so versatile and it's perfect for college/high school student. I read so many bad reviews for this laptop and I'm glad I went with my gut and still bought it. All of my friends were trying to convince me to get a Mac (Which cost about 1 grand for the same features of this HP Pavillion that is also a touchscreen convertible!) But to be honest, the only innovative thing about Macs are the anti-virus protection. (And if you download avast on a PC it works just as well.) All in all, I would definitely recommend this laptop, the battery life is surprisingly good and the touchpad and touchscreen are very responsive. Also if it breaks down you have a 1-Year Warranty with Geek Squad! I'd definitely recommend this laptop to any type of notebook user.

Great for College Students
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe only negatives is that when in tablet it's hard to get the screen to rotate the way you need it and it has issues connecting to Wi-Fi. Other than that this computer does everything I need it to and it comes at a great price. Its light and perfect for carrying to class.

Skeptical about Refurb
|Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendI had previously bought a Toshiba Satellite and it just didnt do what i wanted it to do. Looked through online and found this HP as a refurb, i've never bought a refurb item. Had it about a couple months the processor speed is def better then the last comp i had. The biggest problem is the Wireless Adapter keeps messing up. It will lose signal and i have to reset it. Sometimes when i turn off my comp it automatically diasables the wifi. If this wireless adapter issue could be resolved I would def rate this comp higher.

Stay away from refurbished
|Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendUnfortunately, I didn't have the laptop long enough to give a good review. Broke within the 4th day of receipt, wouldn't update anymore and just crash. Ended up returning it. As from my brief experience it was a pretty neat laptop. Perfect for a student such as myself, only concern would be the keyboard when you're using it in tablet mode. Buy new & save yourself some time. I never buy refurbished but took the chance and now I remember why I don't.

Great performance at a low price
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendVery pleased with the item. I was looking at ASUS 2 in 1s and HP 2 in 1s. I was looking at i3 and i5 processors. I could not justify the small difference in benchmark performance of the i5 over the i3 for the larger difference in price. This refurb HP was a bargin at $300. Sold out at that price and I haven't seen anything under $389. I usually buy AMD based computers. This is the first Intel based computer and I am impressed. Running Windows 8.1 in Windows 7 mode. This thing is fast. Wakes up in 2-4 seconds and cold boots in less than a minute. The battery last 5-7 hours. It runs at 15-25% CPU and 50-60% memory with 3-4 applications open. I wish it had a little more memory. The 4 GB is sufficient, I just want more. May do an upgrade to 8 GB after the 90 day warranty runs out. I read some complaints about gesturing on the touchpad. I have not had any problems. I have Time Warner Ultimate and have seen 30 MB wireless and wired. Hope to see higher speeds when TW fixes a couple of bugs. A couple of detractors. Wish the keyboard was backlit and that the network interface was 1 Gbit instead of 100 Mbit. Not a real problem.

Q: QuestionWill Minecraft run smoothly on this computer? Will Minecraft run smoothly on this computer? Will this meet recommended system requirements?
Asked by Jenn.
- A:Answer Nothing whatsoever will run smoothly on this computer. It's structurally very poor quality and runs slow, freezes up and even the manufacturer cannot tell you why certain things do or don't work. Best Buy's return policy is terrible. Check out your purchase thoroughly IMMEDIATELY because you have very little time to return and the "we'll remove the bloatware" service they sell you invalidates the manufaturer's warranty.
