I have owned a HTC Vive for almost a year and have a couple hundred hours in VR under my belt. Cons: Tracking is not as precise as on the Vive Can't track controllers when outside the field of view Screen seems a little dim PROs: One cable with one connection Higher Resolution than the Vive I actually like the controllers that have the thumbstick FOV seems a bit bigger than Vive No External Tracking needed. This is huge. For full price, I would be hard pressed to recommend this over an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. But for VR games where you are sitting, I think this was as good if not better than the two older systems. While not great, I think the internal tracking is a huge step forward for VR and in the near future will be the standard.

Ok, if you've never experienced VR before, this will seem pretty cool. Having tried many different headsets from Samsung Gear VR to HTC Vive, these won't seem all that special -- Mixed Reality is a fancy word for VR.. don't let marketing folks sucker you into thinking it's any different. The convenience in using this Mixed Reality headset versus HTC or Oculus variants is that these use an optical sensor (cameras) which are forward facing and are part of the headset versus external sensors that you have to mount to walls or set up on tripods. It is NOT wireless so you'll be tethered to your computer while using this. Set up is fairly painless. First, you have to update Windows 10 to the Fall Creator's update. Once you do that, simply plug this headset into A) USB port and B) HDMI port... the hardware will automatically be detected and recognized and the software will launch taking you through a series of steps to calibrate... very straightforward and painless. The experience of this headset wasn't anything mind blowing in comparison to existing headsets. I'll say though that this headset felt more comfy than others but YMMV on that since all noggins are not made equal. Also, not having to install a bunch of external sensors everywhere was very convenient! If I were to name any cons with this headset, it would be: Cons: The lenses were not quite as clear as I had expected especially around the edges where there is some blur. Wearing prescription glasses with this works perfectly fine, but it's a bit of a pain to take the headset off when wearing prescriptions. Hand controllers feel a bit cheap compared to the competition. Pros: No external sensors required. Well crafted headset with adjustable head band. It's comfortable and works just as well as other headsets in its price range.

This head set is pretty good. Picture is really nice and it’s comfortable, but adjusting the picture with the software is a little difficult. I couldn’t get it dialed in quite right so edges of the picture were a little blurry.
