3 Weeks In, A-OK
|Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I've had the printer for 3 weeks, and it performs well so far. I rarely use color, but printing quality is as expected. I only print documents and mailing labels, no photo printing so I can't review on that. Size is larger than I need but performs well. I would recommend if needed for occasional printing. Ink cartridges that came with the printer are not full cartridges but enough to get you through order time for new ones. Ive printed less than 25 docs so far, I did order new cartridges to have on hand. I did not do the autoship program, just bought them myself. The wifi connected easily, and I did not experience the same issues with connectivity that others expressed. Ive been able to print from all my devices, desktop computer and laptop are connected through HP Smart, 2 cell phones and 2 tablets as well, one that is old and has no updates or support is also connected to printer and prints easily. I have no complaints and it works well for my needs.

Fantastic office like wireless ink jet printer.
|Posted .My inexpensive HP Officejet 3830 Wireless All-In-One Printer is amazingly fast, excellent resolution: 4800 x 1200 dpi color and 1200 x 1200 dpi black only and it's built-in Wi-Fi connects to your computer, smartphone, tablet and other mobile devices. It's standard paper capacity is 60 sheets in and 25 sheets out and a 35 sheet auto doc feeder. It can print 2-sided docs/photos, scan docs/photos, copy and print photos, and send faxes quickly. A 2.2" Mono Touch Screen lets you choose settings manually, as well as, from your computer. It has a High Speed USB Port for connecting to a non wireless computer, camera, etc. I purchased it in early May 2018 and I am still using the ink cartridges (1-tricolor and 1-black) that came with it! Min PC requirements are Windows 7, 1.0GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2GB hard disk space, CD-ROM/DVD or Internet connection and MS Explorer 8. Lastly, it has a sleep mode for power saving.

Excellent printer
|Posted .After much research and review reading I settled on this printer. Now I will say that it's a little bigger than I initially anticipated. However I really appreciate it. It's wireless first off, which means less wires connecting and getting in the way. I can even print from my phone which is awesome. The initial setup did take me a while but after that its just click click and done. One really nice thing about this printer is the loading tray and lead for when the paper is coming out. First off it loads from the back in a vertical direction. That sounds like it would take a lot of upward space but I can assure you it does not. Also I like how the ending tray for when the printed paper comes out folds away. For my personal purposes I think it's perfect as I print a few papers a week. receipts, forms and other personal things I like to have a hard copy for. This doesn't seem like it would be ideal for a business though. Overall I would highly recommend for someone to have at home. it's a simple and lovely addition that keeps me organized in my paper work. Also should add that you can print even if you are not on the same wifi as the printer so long as you connect to the printer by linking your email with google cloud print as thats what I use.

Does the job
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5The print quality is great. It prints slow but I don’t need it a lot or for anything instantaneous. It sits on my desk and sleeps until I need it then wakes up and prints the document I send to it. It is absolutely fine for what I need and for what I paid.

Finally! A good printer
|Posted .I went thru several printers before I finally found one that worked well. The only downfall is that if one of the inks go out, you have to replace it before any of the others will work.

Q: QuestionDoes it come with ink or do you have to buy it
Asked by Ann.
- A:Answer Yes it comes with ink but it's just a starter set. But if you sign up for their ink program they will mail you ink with 2 days. It's very cheap and the printer comes with 3 free months

Q: QuestionWill this printer print in black if the color cartridges are out? And are color cartridges individual or all one cartridge?I was told all new HP printers now will still print in black if the color cartridges are low/empty. Is this true? And is it true for this one?
Asked by Josh.
- A:Answer Good question. Yes, this printer has single cartridge mode where you can use just one cartridge to print if one cartridge is out of ink. You have to remove the empty cartridge in order for single cartridge mode to work. This printer has 1 black cartridge and 1 tricolor cartridge. I hope this helps.

Q: QuestionScanning capabilityCan this all in one scan multiple documents at once ? is it also a flatbed scanner?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This printer has a couple of options for scanning. It does have a flatbed scanner. You can also load a sheet of paper on the collapsible top tray and it will feed in once you choose to scan from the top tray. Also, to make your life a whole lot simpler, when you download the drivers from the HP website, be sure and download the software for this printer. You can scan multiple documents and compile them into one PDF file. It makes everything so much simpler.

Q: QuestionHow complicated is the wireless set up?I recently bought a Canon printer and the setup was horrible. There was no screen and it was never able to connect to my wifi and looked up numerous tutorials online but none could help my flashing light problem. SO will I have that much trouble with this setup as well?
Asked by Morgan.
- A:Answer I don't think so. I am a novice at techy things and was worried about setting it up on my own but it was so easy. Just followed step by step and it was done.

Q: QuestionconnectivityIf I need to connect this printer to my desktop computer buy USB, can it still connect wirlessly with my laptop and gallaxy s6 phone?
Asked by Leigh.
- A:Answer If you elect to turn the wireless feature on, you can connect to the printer both via USB cable and wireless. Your best option, although somewhat technical, is to set up your printer as a network printer and then you can connect via all your devices. Additionally, with this option, when your friends or family come over, they will be able to connect and print a lot easier with your permission.
