We purchased this laptop for our daughter who is finishing up two summer classes before heading off to a new college for the fall. She has had the laptop for a week now, using it for both personal and school stuff, and she absolutely loves it. It even has a remote for the CD/DVD player. After looking at a number of different models, we chose this one primarily for the memory, speed, built-in web cam and mic, and clarity and size of the monitor. Our daughter needs to make it through at least two more years of college, and possibly grad school, with this laptop, so we opted for the best we could find right now. She needs something fast for online research and something with a lot of memory for her school work and music. This laptop fits the bill perfectly for what she needs for school and beyond, so we are really pleased with the purchase.

Great size and weight. If much typing will be done I would have a mouse, because the touchpad is located in such a way that the palm of the hand will make the cursor jump around on the document. Bluray works great. 64-bit seems to recognize all software I have installed. Very fast changing aplications and surfing through pictures. Charger is a great small size also, which makes it very mobile.

This laptop is excellent. I have always been an AMD guy, but my fellow computer geeks talked me into an Intel. I am very glad they did. This laptop is very fast and the HDMI output works great. You just have to set up your display(s) through the NVIDIA Control Panel. I talked with HP and the HMDI output is version 1.3. However, the max refresh rate is 60Hz. I have a HDTV with the 120Hz refresh rate, and the video card does not support that. No worries though, the picture is VERY clear. The included remote stores in your PCMCIA slot. It works great. Webcam & Mic works great. The included YouCam software is fun to play with. Dual headphone jacks will be great while on a roadtrip watching a movie. I highly recommed this product.
