Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I have been using the laptop for the past week and a half ondaily basis. it is fast, well built, clear awesome display and charges from 10% to 100% in approximately 2.30 hours, and the battery will last approx 12 hours with medium usage like (surfing the internet and watching regular quality youtube videos) and will last more if you just use it for regular school work. Fan is not that loud, it will rarely kick in. Laptop stays cool most of the time. Highly responding touch pad. Keyboard has good key travel. I really enjoy using it. Hopefully it will last for a few years with this performance.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5This laptop is an upgrade to my HP Envy that is several years old. I am using it primarily for my photography. I wanted a display that would make my photos pop! And it does just that! The Battery is a 6 cell and it seems to later a lot longer that my Envy. The only cons that I have found so far, is that it only has 1 USB port. It also only has a micro SD card slot. I had to buy a Type C SD Card Adapter. The speakers are far better than the ones on my Envy. The sound quality is amazing. I got the on the Black Friday early access. And I am not disappointed!

Quality5 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros: Sleek look, stellar performance, responsive touchscreen. Cons: My hard drive was a bit short (~460 GB instead of the advertised 512 GB). Overall, I love this laptop! It has a sleek and sophisticated look. The anodized aluminum finish with the rose gold trim looks gorgeous. I'm also thrilled to report that this laptop has more than just a pretty face. Performance wise, the laptop is excellent. I can easily record a podcast while having 20+ internet tabs open and my editing software running. So far, I haven't experienced any significant lag while running basic recording and editing software simultaneously. I've also experimented with games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey and The Witcher 3. The laptop runs the games at a similiar resolution as my PS4 slim, which was pleasant surprise. I'm also a big fan of the touchscreen and the stylus. Granted, the laptop is a bit too big to be used as a tablet, but I love browsing netflix and spotify with the touchscreen. After all, who wants to use a track pad or mouse when their chilling in bed? It's 2019! The sound is impressive. Deep bass, clean mid range, and crisp highs that really punch through. The only thing I'm disappointed about was the hard drive space. Mine clocked in at about 460 GB, instead of the advertised 512 GB. But hey, 50 Gigs is a small price to pay for an otherwise stellar experience.

great black friday price, but beware defects

Quality3 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5this laptop has, by far, the best hardware for this pricepoint. even though the $500 off deal for black friday is the reason i bought this laptop, i had to buy it three separate times, and all three had hardware defects. long story short: the case on this model has a problem of buzzing when the speakers get too loud. if you put pressure on the case to cushion the impact of the buzzing, the problem goes away completely. however, that means your speakers will become almost unlistenable at higher volumes if you just leave it sitting normally on a surface. i didn't realize that until the third time buying it, but that's still a defect as far as i am concerned, because nobody else who i know that owns this laptop has had this issue. the first one i bought had this problem as well a dead pixel. exchanged it for a new one. the second one i bought had the same problem, but the speakers sounded even worse. people on the internet suggested that just a BIOS update or driver update would fix it, but it did not. this was happening even in HP's hardware diagnostic tool (not in windows). exchanged it for a new one, two weeks later. the third one i bought had the same problem as well as a bouncy touchpad, so just tapping (which is supposed to be silent) is almost as loud as a full click. also, this one had a screen with much worse pixel refresh rates than the previous two (mouse cursor has visible trails when moving it across the screen), something that Linus Tech Tips mentioned in their review of this laptop earlier this year. i am guessing it is just an inconsistency in the panels being used, because this was the only one with this problem. another issue that may not be important to some (but is a dealbreaker for me) HP's UEFI seems to only boot into windows, which makes it much harder to dual boot with linux if that is something you may want to do. not impossible, but it will make your life harder overall, if you are willing to deal with some of these problems/inconsistencies, then this laptop's hardware specs are still unbeaten at this price. it's why i tried three times to buy it! but the speaker problem, the bouncy touchpad, the slow screen, and the UEFI problems i had on the last one were enough to make me just return it and wait for a different laptop to go on sale. if you're not as picky as i am, this is still a good purchase, just not for me

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Purchased this on an early Black Friday deal for $500 off and could not be happier. Laptop is a little larger and heavier than I am used to at 15", but the extra screen real estate is great and really makes the 4K screen worth it. The computer is fast in terms of both boot up and operation. With a 10th gen Core i7 and SSD w/ Intel Optane everything is quick. Also, with the discrete graphics (even if not the highest end GPU) it makes my Lightroom photo editing that much better. Battery life is much better than I expected to for a laptop with a 4K screen, likely due to the large battery. Overall, very pleased with this purchase, and would highly recommend.

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I was reluctant to purchase another HP, but as others have also taken advantage of the early BF deals, I jumped on this as well. I looked heavily at Lenovo laptops, but they for some reason gave up on a numeric keypad on some of their 15 inch 2-in-1's, which was a deal breaker for me. Very impressed by the clarity of the Spectre's display, speed of browsing and when moving files, and responsiveness of the touchscreen. I've had the fan come on intermittently but it has been rare. Videos play without lag and I have 30+ concurrent browser tabs open. The build quality on the laptop is very solid. Looking forward to years of durable use.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I bought this laptop on sale for $1,099 and it's great value. I previously used a Spectre x350 15t from a couple of years ago. This version has been completely redesigned since then. Pros: - Premium look and feel (people know it's a quality laptop) - Fantastic looking, quality 4K screen (no backlight unevenness) - Reasonably fast (10th gen quad core Intel Core i7) - Very quiet (quieter than my Spectre x360 15t from 2 years ago) - Long battery life (10 hours+ possible with light use even with 4K) - Can be charged using regular adapter or using USB C ports - 2 USB C ports (including one with Thunderbolt 3) - Trackpad works well under Windows and Linux - BIOS has battery lifespan preservation options (100%, 80%, 50%) - Upgradeable RAM, SSD and WiFi (I've upgraded RAM and SSD) - Works under Linux Cons: - Numeric keypad (just makes the part of the keyboard people actually use off-center and harder to find by feel) - New angular design (older design was more elegant) - Trackpad could be bigger - All USB ports in one spot on one side Not sure: - I don't play games so I'm not sure about that - Tablet mode (who would use a 15", 4+ pound laptop in tablet mode?)
