Overall a Solid Laptop for Students
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this computer for about two weeks and I am very pleased with it. A lot of the reviews I read said the fan was really noisy and distracting. I have only heard it be "noisy" a few times when I was running several softwares and even then you definitely wouldn't be able to hear it across the room. The touchpad has two-finger scrolling!!! My old laptop didn't have this feature and the touchpad was almost unusable but this touchpad is reactive and quickly and smoothly responds to any input. The touchpad settings are also very customizable. I was unsure whether I'd like or use the fingerprint reader but I have it enabled and it recognizes me maybe 80% of the time, it has definitely seemed to improve since I first turned on the feature. The keys glide smoothly and are very ergonomic in their placement. One of my requirements was a built-in num pad because I use it for school and finances daily and again, I really like the layout. My old laptop also had a num pad but it seemed to turn on randomly and was difficult to turn it back on (it wasn't just a simply num lock issue). I have yet to experience any issues with keeping num lock turned on. It does come with a stylus. I have only used it once when I set up the laptop just to play with it. Seems pretty cool, I can see how some people might like it for taking notes or drawing. The pen itself is weighty like a fountain pen and seems very responsive. A few complaints: The other reviews are correct, the processor speed is not advertised correctly. When I open up my specs it reads 1.8GHz not 4.9GHz or whatever it claims to be. It hasn't really become an issue yet though. For running Matlab, Excel, Chrome, and Solidworks simultaneously it does not seem to slow the system down to an annoying point. Additionally, there is only one USB and one USB-c port. I usually have my wired mouse and printer plugged in which both use USB. I bought a multiport adapter that plugs into the USB-c port for my printer which is a bit more unwieldy but it's manageable since I usually use my laptop at a desk. All in all, a great laptop so far. I'm loving the touchpad, num pad, and unit weight!

Stylish but gets the job done
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a laptop for photo editing. I'm on a budget, so I got rid of my chromebook and tablet to get this laptop. Sure there were cheaper options but this laptop caught my attention from the looks alone. After a little research, the specs were more than enough for me and it should be for a while. I love how fast it boots up and I'm able to log in with face detection. The battery lasts longer than I expected. Although it says the screen size is 15 inches, this laptop does not feel or looks that big at all. It's not small by any means, but the size is just right. The touch screen is very smooth and responsive. It's very quiet until the fans kick on, but they're not loud or annoying. I also like the stylus pen that is included. The pen includes a charging cable. The screen is very nice. It makes photo editing a lot easier now. It's not super bright, but it's bright enough. The only negative thing is there aren't enough ports, I would have liked more. I purchased this laptop and a couple of weeks later it went on sale. Best Buy returned me the difference without any problems, very fast.

Great laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been waiting for this laptop for a while and it did not disappoint. I have not had the chance to explore all of the functions. That being said, it is a major step up from my previous laptop. While waiting for its release I watched several YouTube reviews and it lives up to their reviews. Just the unboxing was pretty impressive. It is extremely secured within the box and nice packaging. One reviewer complained about the pen and not having a place for it. Well the pen has a magnet and can stick to the frame when not in use, so that issue is resolved and it comes with a leather laptop sleeve with a slot for the pen. Screen is nice, tight and crisp (no wiggle and very clear image) and keyboard is nice and responsive although a little small for my big hands. Overall, the size is amazing how they crammed all that technology in such a small device. I even used it while connected to a second monitor to test the battery life and I was able to use it for 2 days with normal usage (coding, watching youtube, email, MS Office while using 2 monitors) before it asked me to plug it in I'm still exploring it but so far so good. My only gripe so far is that it is expensive...but I knew that before I bought it.

A laptop great for research and fun
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in need of a new laptop after my 4 year old laptop was not going to cut it for me. I recently started my Masters in Marine Science and I needed a laptop that could handle countless tabs open for information, zoom/webex classes, had good speed and would last me at least until I start or finish my Doctorate. I've only had it for a little over a month now and I'm very happy with it. It's very versatile, lightweight, and simple to use. I'm familiar with HP, but still this was a nice quality upgrade from my previous one. It came with a nice leather (or pleather not sure) slim case, a stylus pen with a couple of replaceable pen heads, and it is bluetooth enabled. I also use it to stream music, netflix, hulu, store my data, and play shows on my TV. It's even better because I figured I would need an HDMI port to stream directly to my TV, and I found out with the bluetooth from both devices I don't need to, and the quality is still just as amazing with no issues or lag. My only complaints are the camera. For something that is 4k Ultra HD I don't know if I need to make a setting change or what, but my picture quality just does not compare to those I see on my zoom classes. It always looks like I'm in a dark room or I have the worst lighting so I'm not sure how to fix that. It is a slight improvement since my last laptop which was not HD or even bluetooth enabled, but still. Also the reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I had to make an exchange, because the 1st one I received had some kind of system error. It allowed me to logon and travel some sites, but the main ones like my school website, my email, even some random google searches for research would not go thru. I eventually got the help of my computer software aunt and we did everything under the sun to remedy the situation. I had the thing for a few hours from setting it up and all that happened. I ended up returning it and received a new product and *knock on wood* I've not had a single issue like that or anything. Overall, I'm truly enjoying this laptop and definitely recommend it for anyone that enjoys streaming videos, who needs to conduct a lot of research, wants reliable and fast speed, something lightweight, comes with everything you would need for a 2-in-1 laptop, or even wants something that doesn't look like every other laptop. Just make sure you don't get a defect like I did when I first purchased it

Simply Sensational
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i purchased this laptop on 07/08/20. Having had it for business and pleasure this past month, I can assure all that it was a wonderful purchase! I am beyond thrilled with every aspect: The performance is topflight, screen is big and bright (thanks to the awesome 4K display), the keyboard is super comfy (and backlit), and the speakers are off the hook. I would implore anyone looking for a quality, premium laptop to look no further. A+.

Sleek and Fast
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best purchase ever. I have nothing negative to say about this laptop. It’s fast and sleek, I actually describe it as as gorgeous. You can tell it’s made of quality materials. It has lighted keyboards that are that are on my fingers, the display is very clear. Even the the box it came in is really nice. I only have it for a month and I hope it will last like my old HP laptop which was more than 10 years old.

Reliable , durable and a Beauty !!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I purchased this I was just amazed at the packaging. The beauty of the laptop...it’s just absolutely stunning. With gold chrome finish and is so smooth and sleek looking . I’ve had this over 3 months and The Picture quality is just beautiful! Very user-friendly, and I love the facial recognition feature. It does not heat up like some other laptops do, and the weight is just perfect. I seldom use it as a tablet, but I love the option for the touch feature. No lagging and watching videos on this Really is a wonderful experience. I feel this will last me a long time, and it gets a lot of looks when I bring it to the office.

Q: QuestionIs this laptop compatible with the oculus rift s?
Asked by Chungus.
- A:Answer The Best Buy Chat Agent told me it was compatible, twice. So I ended up purchasing this model. I specifically asked if the graphics card met the requirements. Now that I have it, I see there isn't even the required DisplayPort. Way to go, Chat Agent!

Q: QuestionWould this computer run Architecture software like Revit and Enscape efficiently? Im looking for a new laptop that can support the graphics of these programs.
Asked by Zachary.
- A:Answer The specs will run the software you are asking about. The question is how big are the files and how much memory do you consume on a regular basis? For example on my desktop I run a AutoCad several drawings at once, lots of excel files, Adobe, and other typical software so I really use my 32Gb of memory. When I move to the Spectra I can't open as much because it has 16GB of memory, plenty on a laptop for me. If you are using under 16GB now this should handle it fine. The other thing you might think about is resolution. 4K in 15 inches is amazing but with that comes small print, menus, etc. Auto scaling is better now days but I would look at someone who runs your software on a 15in 4K and make sure that the auto scaling in that software is handled well. Beautiful screen with bad auto scaling in the software = frustrated user. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionI'm going to use this for Zoom meetings. How are the speakers and is there a built-in microphone?
Asked by ATiggerificOne.
- A:Answer I have a similar model. HP support and other forums have many posts of the internal array mic not working with Zoom (and other online and offline applications). User after user reports trying the standard solutions of updating drives, running the trouble shooter, checking privacy settings, etc. etc., with no actual solution in sight for many frustrated owners. In addition to this, the x360 models seem to have video issues (same thing, connecting to basic apps such as Zoom). For such an expensive computer, it's pretty frustrating to have constant issues with audio and video and not much in the way of support on the forums (most people just copy and paste standard troubleshooting responses without bothering to read the OP or consider the fact that if hundreds of people have the issue, it's probably not something specific to the user at hand). If you get a Spectre or probably any HP, I guess make sure to get the extended support, but from what I've read on forums, their solution is to send the unit back lol. Maybe a bunch of us do just have defective ones. Who knows.

Q: QuestionDoes the media card reader fit regular SD cards (like the SD card in my canon DSLR) or does it read micro SD cards (like the ones in cell phones)?

Q: QuestionI just got one last Friday. It runs pretty hot is that normal? And I hear a static sound coming from the speakers when I turn it on. I’m not sure what’s going on?
Asked by KarP.
- A:Answer My son got this computer a few weeks back. He hasn't mentioned the heat, but he has mentioned the crackling noise from the speakers though. My kids other gaming computers always seem to run warm though so I think this isn't necessarily out of the ordinary
