Great option on sale, chassis/battery are okay
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a great laptop if you can get it on sale, although if you want to play graphic intense games, i'd recommend you use the laptop plugged into a wall. The battery will drain quickly and won't operate at peak performance if run strictly on battery power for games. Depending on how you hold the laptop, such as gripping the frontal corners from underneath, you may bend the lower chassis, which can click the trackpad from underneath. I got this at 40% off for $480, and its definitely a worth purchase. Also, ive been running elden ring on it (after upgrading the ram to 16gb, which i'd recommend) and it can run at 1080p on med/low graphics. It comes with a 144hz screen, which is nice to look at, but it could be better in terms of color.

Great Laptop on Sale
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop for $499 when it was on sale, and I have to say that it is extremely fast and a small powerhouse. I did a lot of research on whether the 3050 is worth it over the 2050, and eventually decided that it was not and that I would go for this one. Buying an additional stick of ram for this is a must in my personal opinion, but the ram is extremely easy to install. That being said I have had this laptop for a couple of weeks now, and it is definitely expected to be a laptop that is meant to be plugged in for a majority of its life, as the battery really only lasts for about 3 hours while on the internet or browsing the web. Besides the battery though, I have no complaints, and with as strong of a system as it has built into its little body I didn't expect the batteries to last that long either way. The keyboard feels extremely nice, the laptop itself is very sleek looking (I've got lots of compliments on it!), and it is a great laptop to bring to school or to a business meeting because it is extremely quiet and runs everything extremely well. I have had exactly no issues with load time on anything that I've thrown at it so far.

doesn't do well for FPS, but great laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in September of 2023 and it's now March of 2024. I bought it for college and to play games in my free time. It has done perfectly for school, I'm not sure if anyone's school requires a Lockdown Browser but this computer supports it. it doesn't run high-intensity games like FPS well even on low graphics but it seems perfect for games like Terraria or Stardew Valley. The only problem I have is with the 2 fans at the bottom. They're both on one side which leaves the other side to heat up faster which is the problem it starts having with highly intense games that probably should be left for PC and console anyway. It has started getting hot sometimes during my school work but that's not often. I have not had it drop or get damaged really at all so I'm not sure about its durability with falls. overall, it has been a great laptop though! oh also, has a light-up keyboard!

Good value, poor speakers, lots of bloat ware.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got on sale for $480. Solid laptop at that price, definitely needed RAM upgrade. With extra 32g of RAM runs as well as my $1500 custom built pc. Graphics card is all you need for most games so don’t worry about getting a higher end one. Main complaints are: Speakers are very quiet on max volume. Also lots of bloat ware and hate the way windows 11 required an email to set up the pc. Over all: The battery has a decent life 4-5 hours regular use way bette than my old one. I can use it for studying, coding, streaming, and playing higher demanding games. Doesn’t get too hot, and fans aren’t super loud. Over all I’m satisfied and would buy again if I went back in time and had the same sale price, but I definitely would not buy it at the full price.

Satisfied
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good deal this laptop is. I bought it on sale and let me tell you for the amount of money I paid for it it's a killer. I game games like dota 2 and counter strike 2 so I don't really need 4090 rtx but this laptop has pretty good perfomance. It's optimized pretty good and looks stylish too. there is light under keys and the keyboard is very comfortable to use. all you need is 1 stick of ram and usb hub and you are good to go. maybe storage upgrade as well that's the only complaint I have is luck of storage since nowadays games take like 100gb

Best Black Friday Deal
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Incredible gaming laptop for its price. It does exactly what's expected of a gaming laptop. For only 8 gigs of RAM it handles games nicely and I absolutely love the backlit keyboard. The noise on the fans are relatively quiet on average game settings. However the fans do get louder with more GPU intensive games at higher settings with a stable 80fps. Finally, there's no issues with CPU based games, with VSync enabled it keeps games fixed at 144fps making proper use of the 144Hz refresh rate. I play on a hard flat surface for the best cooling, but the exhausts appears to be facing flat down, so for optimal cooling I may require a lifted angle for better airflow.

A Gamer's Delight: HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop R
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop with the AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS processor, 8GB Memory, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 graphics card, and a 512GB SSD, all encased in a sleek Mica Silver finish. After spending some quality time with this machine, I'm thrilled to share my experience. Firstly, the design is both stylish and practical. The Mica Silver color gives it a premium look, and the build quality feels solid, suitable for both gaming marathons and everyday use. The 15.6" screen size strikes a perfect balance between ample viewing space and portability. Performance-wise, the AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS processor coupled with 8GB of memory ensures smooth multitasking. As for gaming, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 graphics card is a real game-changer. It handles most modern games with ease, offering crisp and vibrant visuals. The 512GB SSD provides quick boot times and ample storage for games and other media. Another notable feature is the cooling system. It efficiently manages heat, keeping the laptop's performance stable even during intense gaming sessions. The keyboard is comfortable for long gaming sessions, and the backlit keys are a nice touch for late-night gaming. The battery life is decent for a gaming laptop, though it's always better to stay plugged in for optimal performance. Connectivity options are ample, with enough ports for all my peripherals. In conclusion, the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop is a fantastic choice for gamers who seek a balance of performance, aesthetics, and value. It has exceeded my expectations and has become my go-to device for both gaming and daily tasks. For anyone in the market for a reliable, high-performing gaming laptop, I highly recommend considering the HP Victus.

NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2050 is very underrated
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop for light video editing but it turns out that the 4VRAM is more than capable of medium/advance editing with no problem, I'm using Wondershare Filmora 12 with no issues whatsoever, one of the fist thing to upgrade on this laptop is the 8GB of RAM for 16 or 32 cause the 8GB will be maxed out on no time, I went with 2 sticks of 16GB KINGSTON FURY 16GB for a total of 32GB of RAM, one thing that I wasn't aware was that there is single and dual channel sticks of memory and the oem 8GB stick that the laptop comes with is a SAMSUNG 8GB 1Rx16 so I believe that is a dual channel, I honestly don't play games on the laptop but I'm sure that this will do great with whatever is thrown at this wonderful laptop, I did ran the CINEBENCH and I'm really happy with the results and I only wish that I knew about the dual channel memory sticks and for that is too late, I wanted to perform more test for those that wanted to see how this laptop does on games but this review only lets me upload 6 photos so there is no point for me to make game test like I did with CINEBENCH, one thing for sure and be advised that this laptop runs hot so keep an eye on it by going to the omen hub and turn on the fan at full speed every once in a while, you can go to GeForce Experience and NVIDIA control panel when you download the apps from the OMEN gaming hub that comes pre installed, it will not give you all the availability of options that you can change like if you had the RTX3050 or higher but you can change a lot of settings, I can assure you that the AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS is plenty powerful and the RTX2050 is almost as good as the RTX3050 and with the DDR5 memory is a great combination, I got about 5-6 hours of battery when editing and the fan at full blast for 5 min at a time every once in a while when I thought that it was necessary, when the laptop is not using the fan at full blast is so quiet but when it is at full blast it sounds like a jet fighter is ready to take off but don't get me wrong cause is not that loud it just sounds cool at least for me, I wish that I could give a bit more feedback on the performance when playing games but I will just be lying and hyping up this laptop and I don't want to give any misinformation.

Q: QuestionI'm not a gamer. What is the major difference between a laptop for gaming and one used primarily for surfing, and how would this laptop handle everyday office type tasks (surfing, word processing, Microsoft Office tasks)? Thanks.
Asked by Don.
- A:Answer As a tech nerd and a former gamer, I got a gaming laptop in 2020 which was released in 2018. Even thought I don’t play games much anymore, today in 2023 I use it for college and I have no issues or complains. The thing with gaming laptops is that they are build for high performance, which means they have high quality parts, which ultimately means that the computer is able to breeze through normal tasks. The one issue is the battery life, some gaming laptops tend to die pretty quick but if you can adjust your setting and don’t have a problem carrying your charger, then it is a no brainer.

Q: QuestionHello. How many slots for ram memory and ssd does this equipment have? Is the memory soldered to the motherboard? How is the ram memory distributed? Is it 1x8gb or 2x4gb? Thank you
Asked by ErickH.
- A:Answer Thank you for the question. The RAM is not soldered to the motherboard. The Victus 15-fb1013dx has two RAM slots. One is occupied with 8GB of RAM. You can upgrade the RAM, up to 32GB. There is one M.2 slot for the SSD and you can change it if you'd prefer more than 512GB storage. We always recommend that upgrades be performed by professional technicians.
Answered by HP Team
Q: QuestionCan you upgrade the RAM on this laptop?
Asked by GenericNickname.
- A:Answer HP Victus 15-fb1013dx Gaming Laptop supports up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM1. You can upgrade your existing 8GB of DDR5 RAM (@ 4800MHz) to a higher capacity and speed, such as 16GB or 32GB of DDR5 RAM (@ 5600MHz). However, you may need to check the compatibility and availability of the RAM module. I hope this helps.

Q: Question1. What is the maximum amount of ram this computer can be upgraded to? 2. Do both ram sticks need to contain the same amount of ram? Can I insert 16GB ram into the empty slot will leaving the original factory installed 8GB ram in place?
Asked by Newgamer.
- A:Answer Thank you for the question. you can upgrade the RAM to 32GB. You can leave the 8GB stick in place and add 16GB to the other slot, or replace the original stick with 16GB, and add a 16GB stick to the other slot. You just want to make sure the speed and RAM type of both sticks is the same (DDR5, 4800 MHz).
Answered by HP Team
Q: QuestionIf you want to upgrade the hard drive, what is the maximum I can install, and what is the model of the disk I should have to replace it?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I don't know if this will help but this is what I did with my laptop, I decided to get 2 sticks of 16GB Kingston FURY™ Beast DDR5 memory for a total of 32GB and I upgraded to a Pro Level - 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen-4.0 x4 3D TLC NAND Flash 1GB LPDDR4 DRAM Cache M.2 NGFF (2280) Solid State Drive - Kingston. If you had to ask me if it was worth it the upgrades? I would respond in a heart beat, YES! just make sure when you upgrade wait till the items are on sale, for the SSD and the 2 sticks of RAM I got it for $160 all together on sale as to regular price would have been over $200, you don't have to go with kingston but i did my research and this is what i thought it was good for me.
