Yes, it's worth it! Serious VR tech package.
Posted .Virtual reality takes me to new places and provides a fun workout experience right in my living room. PROS: - Higher resolution - makes text much easier to read, especially at lens edges. Bright, colorful, crisp. Greatly reduced SDE (screen door effect) - I never notice it. Better view distance. - Integrated headphones - very adjustable and sounds crisp (nice 3D spatial sound). Haven't had issues with the volume. If you want booming bass, hook up a subwoofer. - Comfort - it just feels right. Easily accomodates all types of glasses. Put on, take off, with minimal effort. No discomfort even after hours of use. - Excellent software library. The Vive caters to the indie developer community so you'll find all sorts of games and experiences. Plays Rift games too with ReVive. - Version 2.0 tracking system is more efficient, and allows more robust communication between the base stations and sensors. It provides much more than just a larger play area. - Room scale is absolutely amazing. Tracking is near perfect. I only have a 6'x7' play area, and it works well. The more space, the better! - Vive setup - easy step-by-step visual walkthrough guiding you through the process. The Chaperone system is very accurate and keeps you in your play area. - Future proof - 2 cameras, which can allow hand tracking and other uses; increased resolution can be utilized by AAA games; 2.0 tracking is more advanced. CONS: - Price. Not yet affordable enough for most mainstream users. Seems to be priced for business use and VR enthusiasts. - Setup takes some time (about 1-2 hours). You need to update the firmware on your controllers and headset (easy to do using Steam VR). - The setup app assumes you use version 1.0 base stations. The updated information was found by searching the Vive website. A little confusing at first. - Doesn't include 'knuckles' type controllers - still uses the original wand design. It still works well, but no finger gestures. Hopefully Valve gets this released soon. TIPS: - If you have audio issues with the headphones, update the firmware and adjust the audio settings in the Vive and Steam VR apps. - Wear a sweatband to absorb sweat and protect the headset from damage, especially if working out. - You might want to buy controller protector guards for the wands (to prevent damaging them if you hit them against something). - The tracking system works best in a play area free of reflective surfaces (glass, mirrors, etc.). - 'The Lab' is an awesome FREE game/experience collection available for download on Steam - this will demonstrate the potential of the Vive. THOUGHTS: - I was going to hold out and wait for "2nd gen VR", but the current gen is refined and mature, with plenty of content. The Vive Pro is the next big step to 2nd gen VR, especially with wireless tech and better controllers coming soon. A wider FOV (field of view) doesn't necessarily equate to a better experience; it's all about the content and support. Having done much research into all the major VR headsets, and having used the Rift before, I feel the Vive Pro is the best option out there for anyone wanting the best VR experience NOW. It's a good option for developers, too, as Vive is more open platform.

Htc vive pro
|Posted .It is a great update from the regular HTC Vive but it may be very expensive for most I got it under credit but pays half of it in cash so it wasn't too hard but actually I have two of them on each side of the room musty I love it because it gets you up and off your chair and ready to explore new worlds out there in VR and it brings immersion to a whole new level

Great immersion and enjoyable!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendSo before I thought about buying one of these I got skeptical if this was going to be mind blowing and sure enough I was mind blown ! What really helped convince me to buy his was a perfect opportunity in japan at the VR world and sure enough there was a huge section of the pro and the moment I tried it out on numerous games , I have already made up my mind on what I want and yeah I’ll admit the price is high but if you think about it and if your the kind of person that works hard and extra it’s for you and also keep in mind if you wanna save time and money in the long run it’s best to go for this because you never know when the previous model will be outdated , however if your a beginner and can’t afford too much the buy the previous model If I had to describe it in one sentence I felt like I was there and I can’t wait for more games to play it on or what other stuff I can do

Better!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI owned the first generation headset and this is my opinion on this one. Better fit for those of us that use glasses. The depth is adjustable to allow for glasses and different faces. The nose area is larger making it easier to breath. Better ventilation. Better weight distribution on the head (mostly front to back). I didn’t notice any improvements with the 2.0 versions of controller and lighthouse. The resolution is only slightly better. Resolution alone I would say is not a reason to upgrade from the original Vive. I can see myself keeping this until technology advances in field of view. Works great with my 1080 video card and 16 gig ddr4, ryzen 6 core is fine.

This thing is awesome!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI hadn’t used VR since the 90’s at a gaming cafe. It has come a long way! I went with the pro for better resolution and had the sound built in. Sound is great! What is nice is if I turn it down a little I can still hear the people in the room, if it didn’t have this I would have gotten headphones that engulfed my ears which would be great if I was by myself, but since I got this as my Xmas gift to myself, there has not been a night where people have not come over. I have people who aren’t gamers talking about it and wanting to play everyday. The experience is awesome, steam VR is a fantastic UI, the games are great and Creed is a workout. I’m recommending this to everyone I talk to. Most fun I’ve had in awhile and as one person said it, “now we don’t have to go to Disney!”
