First off, android wear and smart watches aren't for everyone. I don't know how to tell you if you are the kind of person who will like it or not. I am the kind of person who doesn't ever want to give it up since starting, know that when reading this review. Build Quality - Top notch. Feels very nicely made with no flex or gaps anywhere on the watch. Buttons are also quite nice. - The band is also very comfortable. Feels nice on the wrist on the inside. Feels nice to the touch on the outside. Looks classy to boot. Band is also easy to take on and off. - Still not a scratch anywhere on this thing after four months of daily use. The raised bezel has hit many a things, but not a mark to show for it-- I think its ceramic despite its metallic appearance. The screen glass is completely scratch free as well. Screen - The AMOLED screen is beautifully colorful and sharp. How did I suffer with the lower res LCD of my moto 360 for 3 years?!?! Only possible complaint about the screen is that the minimum brightness for the standby screen is a bit brighter than I'd like. But that is just a nitpick not a real problem. - Size is a bit disappointing coming from the bigger screened 360. But ultimately with how sharp this screen is, it is just as usable with my young eyes. I could see older customers preferring a 1.4 inch screen over this ones small 1.2 incher. Software - This is probably the weak point. Seems that some google-inflicted bugs let the experience down a bit. - Turning off always listening "OK GOOGLE" activation speeds up the watch a LOT. To me this is not a big deal because I have google homes and a phone listening if I need the assistant in a completely hands free way. I can still activate assistant via a long press on the top button and a software button I've added to my custom watch-face. - Battery saver works very well if you do want it to confidently make it through 2 days. I don't use it because it makes it just a bit slower than I want. - The super battery saver mode that turns off android wear and makes it only a pedometer and watch seems like it'd be nice to have. But I never use it--I want a smart watch. It also takes a bit of time to start that mode and come back out of it agian. Battery Life - Its awesome. I can get 2 days out of it if I'm lucky in my heavy use. A full day typically ends with 40-50%. So I tend to charge up anyway. But the battery saver mode could extend it enough to safely make it a 2nd day if I were to forget. - Charger is nice. Its quick, if not as quick as my wirelessly charging moto 360. The magnet grabs the watch very well. I use it every night. I nice dock would be better, but I don't mind it as much as I thought I would coming from the 360's dock. Overall - I'm happier with my choice than I thought I would be. I needed a new watch to replace my old one, and this one does it better than expected.

I decided to buy this because it was on a great sale, but even with the discount it is still a 200 plus dollar watch. For this price, I want things to work well. There are many things I like about the watch but also a few things that are just disappointing. This is my first true smart watch although I do have a Garmin Forerunner 235 that I've been wearing. That watch can receive notifications but not respond or interact in other ways. I've been using the Huawei watch 2 classic for about one week now. A few things I like: Very nice build. Lighter than expected. High resolution and durable screen. Seems like a quality device. It has more fitness reminders than the Garmin for things that I can do during my work day (squat challenge, more advanced move alerts, etc.). Nice colors on screen. Now the few things I don't like: First and foremost, the lag. It seems very slow. I push the app button on the watch and I wait probably 3 seconds before the app menu pops up. Opening apps can also be slow. It also lags when trying to access the screen menus. You can give a screen swipe to access the watch face menu, quick settings menu, or notifications. I often swipe more than once because I'm not sure the gesture worked, but then the screen slowly slides in. This is a big issue for me. It just seems slow. I haven't added any third party apps to slow things down. It was like this right out of the box. Also Google assistant is very slow and doesn't even work sometimes. I also wish it would integrate more into my phone apps. I have tried to use the squat challenge, for example, through the Google Fit watch app. I can't find if or where this is loaded into Google Fit on my phone. I'd like to track my progress somewhere else besides my watch face. I really want to like this watch. It is beautiful and the high definition watch faces are awesome. I'm just really disappointed by the slow responsiveness and the lack of watch to phone integration (that I've found so far). Unfortunately, I may taking this back to the store unless someone could tell me that I just got a lemon and they are actually faster than this. I have my doubts, though, because other reviews commented on the lagging speeds. I'd like a watch that could do more than my Garmin but I don't think this is the one. My Garmin at least responds instantaneously when I push the buttons and navigate the menus. It isn't touch screen and not as high definition, but it does its job well. I'll wear it a little longer before I make my final decision.

      The best Android Wear watch

The Huawei Watch 2 Classic was the 6th Android Wear smartwatch I tried. At nearly 1mm thicker and with the shape of a bowl, the Misfit Vapor looked like a hockey puck. The Fossil Q Venture was feminine; the Fossil Q Explorist was huge. The Asus Zenwatch 3 was too large in diameter and I could't get past the enormous buttons and lack of future support. The LG Watch Style battery died after about 8 hours of light use. But the Huawei Watch 2 Classic? Perfect. It's about the size of a standard mechanical watch, so it won't stick out like a sore thumb. The screen is a little small in the body thanks to the bezel, but it's the bezel that helps give this the look of a mechanical watch, too. The design and body look classy enough to wear with a suit, but also not out of place at the gym. In short, it nails it in the looks department. Good luck finding a competing watch with all the bells and whistles, too. The heart rate monitor is great for use in the gym, and continuous heart rate monitoring is a nice touch. It has standalone GPS, so you can map your run/walk/hike/etc, without needing to take your phone. NFC means you can use Android Pay, which is a minor-but-nice feature. The speaker and mic work well, too. The screen is gorgeous, well-lit, and auto-brightness works like a charm. Performance is great (once you disable "OK Google" detection - an issue with Android Wear, not the HW2C). But most importantly, the battery life is excellent. Not excellent if you disable half of the features; just excellent, full stop. I charge the watch from 7:00 - 8:30pm every night, then put it on my wrist and use the watch for sleep tracking, tracking my movement and heart rate. I get up at 4:45am and go to the gym for an hour, using it to track my workout. Through the rest of the day, I use the watch for notifications (typically over 100 a day), interacting with the watch frequently. That's a pretty heavy amount of use, but by the time it's going back on the charger, the HW2C still has about 20-30% battery left. In short? There are a lot of options out there, but the HW2C is probably the best one. It's nice having all the bells and whistles, but nicer that you can use all of them without worrying about battery life.

        Hello Aaron,

We are glad you are enjoying your wonderful Huawei Watch 2.

Experience the marriage of cutting-edge technology and traditional watch-making, designed to match different styles. GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, and a Bluetooth antenna are integrated under the watch bezel. This reduces signal interference from your body and optimizes signal reception.

        Welcome to the Huawei family!

I had a Polar m200 and it was wonderful in tacking heart rates and activity stuff but that was it. I always wanted a watch to put my music on without having to run with my phone so I just happened to log onto BestBuy.com, saw that Huawei had a new watch, looked at the specs, saw it was on sale that day for $179.00 and I said "let me try it" because it held music & it was affordable. SO OFF TO BESTBUY I WENT! LOVE IT so far. Not necessarily in love with the look but I'm a tall woman so the size isn't an issue but I wanted something more dressy and the Classic for some reason looked more masculine to me so I bought the Sport model. I have no issues so far after one week except one and that it lags a lot when scrolling but since I don't sit up all day scrolling through the watch, it isn't such a big deal. I have a Huawei Note 8 phone and I LOVE IT so this works fine with the phone PERFECTLY! It has Android on it so thats kool & I tested the accuracy of the HRM on a run and compared it to the readings on my chest monitor and it was almost on point. (Watch HRM's aren't as accurate as chest strap ones are but this watch was very close. I miss the sleep tracking on this though. I put music on it & the music only cut out when I ran under a power line but thats with all devices I've used on my run. Notifications are fine and the speaker is loud. Fits comfortably and securely. If it weren't on sale for $179.00 at the time, I wouldn't have bought it because a smart watch is unnecessary to me but for that price, it made me consider. All in All, I give this an 8 out of 10. 2 point deduction for the laggy scrolling, absence of sleep tracking and actual watch band selections and bulkiness. I WOULD recommend this for the price I paid but not right at the $400.00 price tag that it's gone back up to. I guess if you are a fitness watch person then price of this isn't an issue for YOU because this IS as good as a Garmin or FitBit.

I owned the original Huawei Watch and loved it.. I loved it's classy look, it's nice features, and it's great build quality.. When the Huawei Watch 2 came out I went to Best Buy to check it out.. really didn't like the sporty looks of the watch but loved the features.. I decided to hold off until the classic came out.. I watched my app and it finally showed in stock at my local Best Buy! I went, looked at their display and really didn't like the way it looked.. then I realized the display was plastic! So I gave it a chance and bought it.. sure enough the one I purchased is stainless steel with a titanium color! It looks much better than the display and is a very classy watch.. I like how it's not as shiny as the original!! Favorite Upgrades 1.) Android Pay! I didn't think I would use it on the watch but I am.. and I use it more than my phone now! It works without the phone being present so for example I went to trader Joe's in my swimming trunks, no pockets so no phone and paid with my watch! It worked great! 2.) Constant Heart Rate Monitering - I don't really need this but it's neat! The original Huawei watch didn't automatically check heart rates 3.) Awesome battery! And when I am camping I can put the watch into watch mode and it last forever! Overall: Great improvements over the original Huawei Watch! I do wish it still had the sapphire Crystal and all that good jazz but it's still a very classy watch and looks awesome

This is my second Huawei Watch 2 classic. The first one had a physical defect after first month and I had to struggle with the Huawei to get my refunds back. I have decided to give them a second chance. So I bought the Huawei Watch 2 classic again. This watch is a hit or miss. If you are lucky you get a good one. The operating system is a little bit sluggish. The display is a little bit small compared to the hole body of the watch. 1.2 inches is not acceptable for a watch this big. The LCD could be a little bit brighter but it is bright enough. It has two buttons the upper button is for accessing the apps and that is a single point of failure. If the button becomes defected the watch will lose the whole functionality. Display is not sensitive enough in my opinion or maybe it seems not sensitive enough because the operating system is a little bit sluggish. Remember to restart the watch after doing all the updates and extra app installations. The battery life is not Bad and with moderate use And with the help of the power saving functions, I was able to get 2 days out of it. Hands down it is one of the best looking Android Wear watches out there. If you want a watch that is Android Wear 2 and it has GPS and NFC and will let you pay with Android pay system this is pretty much your only option unless you want to go with the much more expensive Movado or Tag Heuer brands. Speakers are As Good As It Gets for a smartwatch they are as equal as Samsung Gear S3. Overall; if you can get it with a lower price it is totally worth it.

I've been using this watch for a couple of days now. I returned a Samsung Gear Sport and I'm happy I did. The Samsung was very nice but did not have a speaker and Tizen OS does not offer many apps. Android Wear 2.0 is great. The integration with my Android phone was seamless. Just download Google Wear and Google Fit and all works great. Battery life as been 2 days for me with Wifi and NFC disabled, Watchface always ON disabled and "OK Google" monitoring disabled. Performance is good, never any slow responses and is fairly quick. Voice to text for messaging is incredibly fast and accurate. The Samsung Gear Sport was horrible with voice to text. It was slow, inaccurate and sometimes did not work at all due to a Samsung software bug that they claim will be fixed but had been known about for over 4 months. Don't hesitate with the Huawei 2 Classic. It looks great and performs great. The only thing the Gear Sport can do better is it's use for swimming. I don't use my smartwatch for swimming and the Huawei watch 2 classic has a speaker for taking calls where the Gear Sport does not.

No, this watch isn't as attractive as the original Huawei watch. It's more manly and ungainly but this can be mitigated somewhat with a 3rd party watch band. I went away from Wear for several months and used a Samsung Gear S2 watch instead. While it was better for some things, I missed certain apps like my authenticator app and other apps that aren't currently available for the Samsung. If you aren't a person who uses watch apps and you use an Android phone, you may prefer the Samsung watches (esp. if you have a Samsung phone) or if you're very into fitness you may be better served with a Garmin or Fitbit watch. I like Wear for its overall usefulness and features. The Huawei watch in particular has sleep and fitness tracking that is decent, even if not as good as what Garmin offers. The heart rate sensor probably works best on fair-skinned individuals, but it's tolerable if you're tracking based on trends and not accuracy. I like it a lot and since it has all of the features except LTE, I think it's one of the best Wear watches on the market right now.
