    Synopsis

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
As we rejoin the motley herd from the two previous Ice Age films, Manny the mammoth (Ray Romano) nervously pampers his expectant mate, Ellie (Queen Latifah), while his best friend, Diego the saber-toothed tiger (Denis Leary), bristles at the thought of Manny's domesticated existence. Meanwhile, Sid the sloth (John Leguizamo) continues to annoy everybody, and Scrat the rock rat is still trying to get that acorn. When Sid accidentally discovers an underground world populated by dinosaurs, he steals three dino eggs so that he, too, can become a "mommy." After the little ones hatch, their real mom comes to retrieve them, and snatches Sid as well, prompting the others to band together yet in order to rescue their friend. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

      Audio problems on Blu Ray

      Posted

LG BD370 Blu Ray Player hooked to Samsung LN40B630 LCD TV via HDMI hooked to Denon receiver via optical and analog. When we put in the Ice Age Blu Ray, the audio was fine in the menus, but once the actual movie started it was scratchy and overdriven beyond belief. It was still there when I switched to analog mode. We have about a dozen blu rays now and none have had this issue. Either the TV is having trouble dealing with converting this particular audio track, the Blu Ray player is having some sort of issue, or the Blu Ray itself is somehow bad. Fox said exchange the Blu Ray- but they're digital copies- how different could they be when the picture is working fine? I probably won't be able to downgrade to DVD since they want an exact exchange for movies anymore. So it looks like I've blown the extra $10 (at initial discount price). We're watching the DVD version for now, it's a good movie and we saw it in the theater too. My 5 year old loves it. For the audio problem only, I've given this a very low rating.

I like all 3 of the "Ice Age" films. Not the best animated films ever made, but they are enjoyable. Now, I remember purchasing the original film when released on DVD. All 3 films have made about the same at the American box office. The Crash & Eddie characters introduced in the 2cd film are just as funny as they were before. I enjoyed & found myself laughing several times in this film. A point, similar to "Jurassic Park 3" where a similar looking dinosaur was the main villain dinosaur Rudy in this film. 1 thing I do NOT like was the today references. Like a character talking on a cell phone, the today phrases Tacky & unnecessary. Cheap, with NO EXTRAS on this. Made nearly $200 million at the US box office & no extras. Cheap. Kids, families will enjoy the film.

      Can't beat Pixar Movies

It's a great movie from Pixar and it's 3D with all the other formats. When I die I can give these movies away and not worry about who owns this digital media. The cost of storing on a hard drive is way too expensive, not to mention total loss if driver fails. Even with back-ups, you are not getting the same thing. And lastly I'd like to say that although I've download a few movies from quality sites, there is no comparison. Also, from all the places I've purchased Blu Rays from, nobody gives you a better deal than Best Buy. And that includes all the other electronics they sell!

      Ice Age 3 is Chill'n

The movie was great!! Proper entertainment for children and adults with out the gore most movies rely upon. Perfect for a wintery setting. I preordered this movie 4 weeks before release. I even received an email that it had been mailed on Thursday before release date which boosted my spirits because that would keep me from having to find something else to watch on dead TV tuesday, when there is nothing on. Movie took over a week to be "express" delivered. Blah. Short take: Movie great, delivery service not. May have to cancel all my up coming pre-orders if this keeps up.

This was an excellent 3-D Blu-ray. Best Buy is having more and more many great titles, and this is one of them!! The price was excellent, especially for a 3-D feature!! It was only $14.99. This is the second Ice Age film in 3-D that I have purchased at a great price from Best Buy. It is great that Best Buy also has price matches .I am a well known regular at the Orangethorpe store in Anaheim. Best Buy definitely the BEST!! Thanks!!

Another fun filled Ice Age movie. The herd splits from one another to find their own way, only to realize they belong together. Sid tries to raise dinosaur eggs only to be taken by their mother to a different world below the ice. Diego and Manny set out to rescue Sid with the help of Buck. Ellie goes into labor and the herd get back in just enough time to welcome baby Peaches to the family. Loved this one!

Movie looks and sounds great. Haven't tried watching it in 3D yet. I bought this movie for my 3 year old son and to expand our 3D Bluray collection. I think he may be a little young for this movie but I feel he will grow into it. We are big fans of the Disney Pixar movies and this movie is definitely not in the same league but we knew that before we bought it. Overall I recommend it but for older kids.
