Great freezer, great price, but BE CAREFUL!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had problems with the freezer initially but I was able to quickly and easily resolve them as soon as I figured out what the problem was. The temperature control knob on the freezer is misleading. When I initially started the freezer I set the temperature control knob to 5 (out of 6) which indicated "Deep Cold". The freezer ran fine for a day or so and then defrosted and stopped working. I unplugged the freezer and adjusted the temperature control knob to 3 (out of 6), allowed the freezer to sit for about 6 hours and then plugged it back in again. After that I never had another problem with the freezer. Of course it took me some time to figure out what the problem was and how to correct it so I'm hoping this review will help you out and save you a lot of time. If you set the temperature control knob to anything higher than 3 1/2 then the condenser runs continuously and the cooling lines freeze causing the system to stop working, heat up and defrost. If the system stops working, unplug the freezer and let it sit for about 6 hours or so to completely defrost, then set the temperature control knob to about 3 or less and restart the freezer and you should be fine. With the temperature control set to 3, the internal surface temperatures are still really low. Using a non-contact laser thermometer I checked the internal temps of the freezer every day for about a week to make sure it was operating correctly. The internal surface temperatures range from -29°F (near the top) to -10°F (on the shelf above the motor). I've had the freezer about a month now and it seems to be working great now.

A Good Chest Freezer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I really like this freezer. I like the outside finish, which is easy to clean. I was considering a smaller unit, but I'm glad I got the larger one on sale at nearly the same price as the smaller one. I've had it two months, and it is nearly full. I like that it has a light that indicates that the freezer is connected to electricity. The wiring in my house is not the best, and I like to know that my full freezer is plugged into a live outlet with just a glance at this indicator light. However, it does make a little more noise than I was expecting. It has a distinct buzz, and a sloshing sound when it first kicks on. I am accustomed to that now, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

no problems so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Freezer works as advertised. Can apparently be turned down to a chest refrigerator, which is nifty, but we found that we have to have it on the low-middle setting otherwise everything in the freezer was frozen completely solid (ice cream was painfully difficult to scoop!) No complaints thusfar. Cheap freezer, more or less what we needed. Fits 100lbs of boxed bacon with room to spare. had to defrost the edge, but it looked rather as though something had propped it slightly open, so unsure if that's a flaw or user error

Perfect for apartment living
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit is awesome for apartment living because the tiny fridges in apartment buildings just do not provide enough storage for frozen goods. Do not listen to the negative reviews! If you follow the instructions for setting up this unit, it will run perfectly. When I bought it, I set it up according to manufacturer recommendations and have not changed any settings since. It keeps my food and ice cream frozen solid. The size of the unit is great as well. I recommend at least the 7.2 cubic foot unit, as I feel the smaller size may not be enough for some people.

Bigger than it looks!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This freezer is bigger than it looks in the picture. It runs efficiently and has been a great help for us to store our frozen foods. The only thing I disliked was the Igloo logo wasn't attached straight and it drives my OCD crazy every time I see it. Also they used tape to keep the door from opening during transit; however, it did not come off easily and it left ugly residue markings on it. Aside from these two small cosmetic issues, this has been a great addition. I do wish it came with one more basket though.

Good freezer at bargain price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A chest style freezer with very basic configuration. Could use a second basket and why don't the manufacturers include a thermometer or a digital reading thermometer? It would add $10 to the cost and be a great value to the consumer.

Great Capacity for the Money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an unintended purchase. We went to buy a washer dryer combo and saw this as an open box item. Our old freezer was long in the tooth. This was larger, less money, better features and more energy efficient, so we took it home on the spot. It is a comfortable size being neither a gargantuan machine nor a tiny freezer-wannabe. It holds sale items and daily necessities with room to spare. While it is not lullaby-quiet, the noise factor is not significant. Overall, it has been a good purchase.

Seems to work great so far.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The freezer was an easy install except we had wanted to leave it on the back porch and found out after we got it home it won't function correctly at all outdoor temperatures. We should have checked that before we bought it, but we didn't really think about it before hand. So, it is now inside and not the most decorative piece in the apartment, but the freezer itself works well.
