'Concrete Country', a term Eric Stuart uses to describe the music on this CD, is an intriguing blend of rock and country music. Every single song is enjoyable from the infectious, slightly exasperated 'The Bottom Line' to the hilariously teasing 'Shut You Up' and the gently regretful 'Land Of What Might Have Been'. Each song paints a vivid picture in my mind. Eric Stuart writes his own songs, seemingly from the heart. When paired with his wonderfully distinctive voice (he's the lead singer), country/rock-flavored melodies, and the more-than-excellent accompaniment of his band, I find I can't maintain a bad mood -- no matter how frustrating my day has been -- when 'In The County Of Kings' is playing.
