Roland Emmerich returns to the helm for this long-awaited sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Independence Day. Fearful of another attack, the nations of Earth have teamed up against their common enemy -- the extraterrestrials who brought humanity to the brink of extinction. Using recovered alien technology to bolster their defenses, the alliance braces itself for another invasion. Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman reprise their roles from the original film, while Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, and Maika Monroe are among the new additions to the cast.~Daniel Gelb
I enjoyed it, can’t go wrong having Goldblum. Glad to see the annoying Smith go.

I looked to much forward to it, since I'm a fan of the original. minutes into the movie I just knew it was going to be so so,
Made by the same director that made the movie 2012, it has the same terrible drama and completely transparent storyline. I'm not even sure if there even is a storyline to this movie.
The worst part in fact is that the aliens are more primitive than us.
You would think that It's when you realize that the Queen of the aliens suddenly gets a personal vendetta against a yellow school bus while fighter planes are bombarding her, it looks that the script was written in a break time.
I really went into this.
A very intense movie, it keeps you on the edge of your couch! Definitely got the bang for my buck! Graphics are super clear and movie is well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars
A rekindling of a classic with lots of new twists!
Independence Day: Resurgence is remarkably well thought out for a sequel 20 years in the making. What adds to the realism is writers attention to detail, how earth benefited from being attacked by a hostile alien force. Also, how would our main characters have grown or failed to grow in a world where we are not the only life in the universe.
