      I was looking for a second fridge/freezer for my garage. This one looked like the right size and the reviews looked positive. It was on sale so I purchased online and picked it up at the store a week later. I got it home and unboxed it and found a small dent on the upper left side. The outside of the box gave no indication of damage. I could see it was strictly cosmetic and it wouldn't affect the operation of the unit. The thought of hauling it back to the store didn't appeal to me, besides, i was going to have it in the garage so my thinking was, I could live with it. On the off chance I could get some kind of monetary credit if I was willing to just keep the unit rather than return it and create a hassle for not only me but Best Buy also, I called customer service. I offered to e-mail them a pic of the damage but they said not to bother. They credited my credit card in the amount of 10% of the purchase price so I was very happy about that. Now as far as the operation of the fridge, I was aware that freezer temp should be 0 degrees and fridge temp should be below 40. I have a small electronic outdoor temp sending unit that tells me outside temperature by sending it to another unit inside so I placed the sending unit inside the fridge and then the freezer. I want my milk and drinks a couple of degrees above freezing and achieved that by setting the fridge electronic temp control to the lowest setting. The medium setting on the freezer will give you 0 degrees or below. I'm going to try and post a pic of the dent. I've had this product for about 2 weeks and I'm very satisfied with it.

      Noisy and freezes fridge good

      Within 3 weeks of purchasing this fridge, it started making horrible noises which came from the back whenever cooling kicked on. We also noticed that our produce was freezing in the fridge so we turned the temp to the warmest setting which didn't help. The noise got so loud that it was keeping us up at night. Best Buy was wonderful and exchanged it for a new one. However, 2 weeks later it's happening again. Found a bag of baby carrots frozen solid in the morning along with ice forming around the thermostat. The noise is getting louder and louder. We are trying to resolve this through the manufacturer since it's obviously an issue with the fridge not anything to do with Best Buy. I'm not holding my breath as they said "you have the ability to plug in the product at the store and make sure it is working". To which I have no response. How does one respond to that? It's a fridge, what am I to bring food and chill out in Best Buy for a week to make sure it's not going to freeze all my food and not start making insanely loud noises?

      Second dead fridge in 9 months

      I bought this refrigerator last summer, and was thrilled with the size, features, design, and sale price. It's the perfect design for a household of two who make every meal at home and aim to waste nothing, as it ensures that you see everything and eat what you have while it's still fresh, before you buy or make more. As a household we try to consume as little as possible, which is why it kills me that within the first two months our first refrigerator made increasingly loud compressor noise to the point where we could no longer tolerate it and had to get a replacement. It's like having a steady jackhammer running in the kitchen at random times throughout the day and night. So we had it replaced in September, and by March the replacement was exhibiting the same behavior. Today on April 1st it kicked in at 05:00 and roared continuously until 07:30, eliminating my last few hours of sleep entirely, even with the bedroom door closed. We now have to seek a second replacement for this one. Please, Best Buy/Insignia, just make a small AND reliable product for once.

      Yikes! Terrible refrigerator!

      I will be honest, this is the first time I’ve ever left a review on something, but I am surprised at how horrible this fridge is. I’m on my third replacement in less than 10 months! The freezer works fine, but the fridge portion has not worked properly. I have had to throw out so much food due to it not cooling. Literally anything on the top shelf feels like it’s at room temperature. The first fridge cooled just fine, but started making loud motor noises sporadically. That is when we contacted Best Buy and they sent this replacement. Sometimes the replacement cools fine, but most of the time it does not. I make sure that it closes tightly, I have it on the coldest setting, I even have started to put a bowl of ice in the fridge to try and get it to cool while we wait for our third replacement. I’m grateful that Best Buy has sent replacements, but honestly I just want a different fridge at this point! Stay away!!!

      After searching and researching for a good while, I decided on this 10.2 cu.ft., bottom freezer refrigerator by Insignia. I had read reviews on different sites about all the bottom freezer brands. Had gone to many stores and outlets, including online. Went to Best Buy personally, and I'm really glad I did. From start to finish, everything and everyone, was professional! The sales associates very knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. Delivery on time, as promised. Delivery geek squad was the best!! Hauled away old fridge. The Insignia 10.2 bottom is sweet! Extremely quiet!! Beautiful to look at. Temps even all around 35 degrees inside fridge. Freezer at -10F! Depending on the room temps, this compressor kicks on very little, and SO QUIET when it does. You know it's an energy saver for sure! Lot roomier in the fridge, and freezer, than meets the eye! This was, for me, a Best Buy! Liked it so much, I also purchased a 2.6cu.ft. compact Insignia fridge. Time to get rid of the old GE mini. Boy, am I happy with the 2.6, as well! Overall, highly recommended!

      It was great while it lasted

      I bought this fridge because it fit in my small space, and had the bottom freezer that I wanted. It was a great little fridge for about 3 months. When I contacted Geek Squad they told me they don't work on refrigerators 'in the field' under 14 cu ft, so I had to get a new one and send the old one back. After the tremendous hassle (I'll spare you the details, but it wasn't an easy process!) I got a replacement and was happy again. About 3 months later, guess what! As if on cue, it's starting to frost up the freezer, and it makes a sound like a fan or something is always on & straining. Exactly like last time. Geek Squad's policy won't allow them to send someone to figure out what's wrong, so there's no lasting solution. I guess time is up and my business is going elsewhere! I'm not going to keep doing this every 3 months!

      I was really happy with this product, so excited to have this refrigerator in my shop until the refrigerator stopped working. This was all within 30-45 days of owning, when I first got it it worked perfect, kept my drinks super cold and then all of a sudden it stopped. The freezer works and continues to work like a champ. I called Best Buy and set up an appointment with a tech to come out and would you believe it, the fridge started to work. Needless to say, Best Buy went ahead and honored the warranty, so now all I have to do is bring the fridge down to my nearest Best Buy and they will issue me a credit. A bit of an inconvenience but nothing that can't be handled. Maybe I was just unlucky and got a defective unit, I am going to get another and let's see what happens.

      Worst purchase!

      Never ever have I had a problem in my local store... but we just bought our first home and had the fridge in the garage for a month still in the box! The box wasn’t dented or ripped so we thought it was good. We moved and were excited to open our first fridge together. When we noticed the top left corner in the back dented in! The edge of the door was dented AND we found the knob to the temperature in the freezer!? How is that!? Worst purchase ever! Won’t be going back nor will I recommend this brand! Worst experience for a first time refrigerator buyer!
