I initially got me this cable for my subwoofer. The humming sound produced has horrible. This may have been the result of a faulty item, but I decided to not waste another trip and got me a better quality cable.

Subwoofer is putting out excellent sound and I'm not having any signal interference with how little insulation the cord has, so I'm happy with it.

This was suggested with the purchase a $500 Klipsch sub... it may work fine for a cheap sub, but it is not shielded... this results in a constant hum when the receiver is off. Bought a newer expensive cable, no hum.

I have this running from pioneer elite to klipsch 300w subwoofer and it hums when receiver is off and subwoofer is in auto on. May be some other power struggle I am no expert.
