Durable cable, worth it
||Posted .Cable works as expected and is the advertised length. One thing to note. The base of this cable that plugs into nes has a clear plastic cover as shown in the attached picture. This makes the plug wider than the standard controller and makes it impossible to plug in a second controller. It does have two screws so you can likely take it off with effort. I'm not sure why it's included as it serves no obvious purpose. In my case I only intend to use one controller so it is fine.

6' Controller Extension Cable For Nes Classic
||Posted .This is a must have, makes your controller 8' long! Since the original controller that comes with the NES SYSTEM is only 2' feet long,

Clearly not tested on product designed for.
||Posted .Best Buy (insignia) must have had a ton of spare Wii nunchuck connector parts laying around with which they decided to repurpose for these extension cables. Here's why. The clear plastic loop on the connector used originally to fasten the wrist strap to was left on the male end of the extension cord. This is a problem because not only do we not need a wrist strap on the end that plugs into the Classic NES, or anywhere on the extension cable for that matter. But the clear plastic loop actually totally blocks the 2nd player controller female port on the Classic NES console. Terrible design. Essentially, if you only want to play alone, buy this extension cord. And only buy one of these because you will not need a second as it will be rendered useless by the first. Since discovering this, I have realized that many manufacturers on extension cables for this system have made the same grave error. I found one of the Rain Forest retailer's site. Take a look for yourself.

Works as intended.
Posted .Works perfectly, ignore the reviews about the plastic, you just need a small screwdriver to take it off.

Awesomeness
||Posted .The controllers that come with the system are like WAY too short. This adds the length you need to sit at a comfortable distance from your tv. As for those plastic clips, I removed them. Not even that big of a deal. Now I can plug in two controllers.

Works great!
||Posted .This product works great to entend the ridiculously short NES Classic controllers. As others have mentioned, just remove the clear plastic clip if you're trying to use two controllers. The clear clips are made for the Wii U controllers and serve no purpose for the NES Classic. Also, if you're looking for a lot of extra length, you can actually connect multiple extenders together. I tried connecting two of these together and it worked perfect.

NES Classic Extension cable
||Posted .I was lucky enough to get my hands on a NES Classic. I had heard that the controller cables were short, but I didn't fully realize how short until I unboxed the console. After the first night of nostalgia filled retro gaming my eyes and back were killing me. I knew I needed a solution to actually enjoy my NES Classic going forward. The Insignia 6' extension cable is the perfect solution. The extra length makes playing games much more fun and less physically torturous - ha. The price is pretty cheap but the cable is a good quality. all of the connections are secure and I didn't see any negative impact on the response time of the controller. this is a great solution if you're tired of sitting uncomfortably and blindingly close to your tv while playing the NES Classic.

It works but -2 stars for design
Posted .These extenders work but what the heck is with the plastic clips at the end? They don't seem to serve any purpose and prevent the second player controller from being inserted. Luckily removal is easy and doesn't impact the product.

Q: QuestionThe plastic clip on the plug that blocks controller port two appears to be attached with a couple of phillips head screws. Can the plastic clip be unscrewed and removed to permit two extension cables to be plugged into the system?
Asked by Jason.
- A:Answer Yes. Just unscrew them, remove the piece and screw the 2 screws back down. Now you can use 2 of here.

Q: QuestionCan my "OLD" edition controller, work with the "extension" or do I need another controller? The ends are not the same in either case.
Asked by Scott.
- A:Answer nope. the old edition (circa 1980's) will not work. only the nes classic controller and some of the wii classic controllers will work. that being said, there is an adapter on amazon that allows you to use the old edition controllers w/ the nes classic, but that adapter is wireless and wireless nes classic controller = delayed response time = certain death in super mario bros

Q: QuestionThe product is called "6" Controller Extension Cable..." and the pic looks like opposite ends of the same cable. Will I need to buy 2 extension cables to cover both controllers? Or should 1 purchase by itself, cover both controllers? Thanks.
Asked by Jon.
- A:Answer NES classic only comes with one controller. There is only one extension cable in the box.
