Great Small Deep Freeze
||Posted .I couldn't make this purchase based on reviews, because Insignia has never had deep freezers before now. I have always expected high quality from other Best Buy Insignia item, such as televisions. The freezer is super quite. Is maintaining good temps with about 75lbs of meat with the thermostat set mid-way. I would highly recommend thise freezer!

Great Freezer
||Posted .I was replacing an old fridge freezer combo for my garage I had recently purchased a commercial fridge but I still needed a freezer I found this freezer at Best Buy it had great reviews so I took a chance and I couldn’t be happier. I initially wanted a smaller size but I couldn’t pass up the extra room and I am pleasantly surprised and how cold it keeps everything I put in it. From ice to additional food storage. I keep steaks, ground beef, chicken plus I still have plenty of room for drinks, and ice cream Love my new freezer

Product was great, but Best Buy was poor.
||Posted .The freezer is working fine. Our issue was that we picked it up at the store and when we took the packaging off at our facility location the freezer had a "crowbar" dent in the side of it. It was too much for our volunteer delivery person to return the freezer to the store, so we just used it. Wished we could have returned it, but being a nonprofit organization we have limited resources.

Don't be like me and order bigger than you need :)
Posted .It was just delivered this morning, and so far so good, so 5 stars. The reason I'm reviewing now is to say that I wish I'd ordered the 5 cu. ft. model instead of the 7 cu. ft. one. Now that it's here I see I don't need all the space; it's just for overflow from the refrigerator-freezer in my kitchen. No harm done except for about $40+tax extra, about 8.5 in. of extra exterior width (same depth and height as the 5 cu. ft. one), and a few bucks of electricity per year. In case it helps: if the rated usable space were a cube, the cube would be: 23.0 inches on a side for 7 cu. ft, and 20.5 inches on a side for 5 cu. ft. The picture is an attempt to indicate the size of the interior space. I couldn't think of a convenient ordinary object to use, so that's a box of Kleenex. The red thing is a 12-inch ruler leaning on the shelf over the shallow area on the right of the freezer (as you're standing in front looking towards the back.) The picture is taken from the right side. That's my thermometer in the basket; it doesn't come with one. A couple of actual review notes: --the height of the recess on the front of the lid for raising the lid is too small, so that rotating my hand as the lid comes up hurts my fingers, and I have to remember not to use it. Minus one star on the "Ease of use" rating, but not a big deal. --it's very quiet when the compressor is running. If my house's forced-air HVAC fans or my kitchen refrigerator's compressor is running -- about 10' away -- I can't hear this freezer.

Best decision ever
Posted .We originally went in to BB to check out the Insignia 5.0 cu. ft. freezer for a higher price. While the sales person was scrolling only e, we noticed this bigger one for a lower price. We didn't need this much room but for the price, why not? It took no time to start getting cold, and we live having the extra room. Now when we shop if we want a lot of frozen food, we can! It comes with the basket, and one square platform on the bottom right side. It keeps it's temp even in our garage here in FL, and our temps have been up to 117 lately.

Physically damaged but still works great
||Posted .When I picked this freezer up (only one in the store) there was no physical damage evident from the outside but after I unboxed it, I found physical damage in at least two places. Since it seems to function with no issues, I've decided to keep it. So far it has kept all food frozen. Glad I purchase the extended warranty.

AWESOME!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Had a little doubt about the brand but using the online reviews as a guide resulted in a very reasonable risk taken! Working so quietly and peacefully, no scratch nor dent when i unwrapped the freezer . Great price and product....most reasonable risk i have taken in a while!.

Insignia Chest Freezer
||Posted .The freezer works great. My main issue is that it has a huge dent in the front bottom right corner by the power light. After picking it up, getting it home and unboxing it I didn’t feel like reboxing it and taking it back. There really should be some better quality control for items or at least some compensation for customers who keep aesthetically damaged items.

Q: QuestionWill this freezer work in a garage? What room temperature is it recommended that this freezer be kept at?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The description on the web says "Temperature range Okay to use in areas that get down to -4° and up to 109°." However, in the Q&A section, insignia staff say between 50-85 degrees.
Answered by Sarah
Q: QuestionWhat is the approximate temperature range of this? "Min to Max" doesn't cut it for me... I need to know approximately what the internal temp will reach at "Min"... ie 0 degrees F or 10 degrees F, etc. Could it also be adjusted beyond that range?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer I bought the 7 cubic foot freeze a month ago. And have it set at half way between min and max. The temp according to my inexpensive kitchen thermometer is 3 degrees F.

Q: QuestionInsignia answers do not match website description - what is ambient temp for best operation?I see under product description "Temperature range Okay to use in areas that get down to -4° and up to 109°." However, in the Q&A section, insignia staff say between 50-85 degrees. Which is the correct answer?
Asked by Sarah.
- A:Answer To clarify, the 50-85 degrees is for optimal performance. Using in this temperature range will allow the freezer to work efficiently while using the least electricity. The range listed on the Best Buy site (-4 to 109) is the temperature range that will allow the freezer to work in any capacity. Here are some additional suggestions for placement from the manual: It is recommended that its used in the coolest room in your house. Locate the freezer away from direct sunlight and sources of heat, such as a stove, heater, or radiator. Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption. Extremely cold temperatures may also prevent the freezer from performing properly. Hope this cleat things up!
