Customers are impressed with the 7-Port Type-C Hub's ease of use, USB ports, and its affordable price. Many appreciate its compact size and compatibility with various devices, including iPads and other peripherals. However, some users find the cable length too short and report that the hub can get warm during extended use. A few also experienced issues with charging certain devices through the hub.

Got this for a new MacBook Pro 15, and I use every single port. My old MBP had a built-in SD-card reader, but I still needed an Ethernet to Thunderbolt adapter. This one does it all (except that I could always use more USB 3.0 ports). NOTE: sometimes USB-C is not recognized until I unplug and re-plug the adapter. That clears it up, but was never an issue with my previous USB ports-and-hubs. It does run fairly hot, but I draw a lot of power and have run it with a Focrusrite Scarlett 2i2 which sends phantom power to microphones. Never had a problem keeping the MBP fully charged, and both data and internet speeds are very good. The build quality looks as good or better than any of my native Apple accessories.

The Insignia 7-Port Type-C Hub with Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is a valuable accessory. I bought it mostly for the ethernet connection since the new laptop does not have an ethernet port. The additional features though allow me to also have the power cable, digital audio converter, and external hard drive all on one side of the computer - taming clutter and keeping those items conveniently placed. And it frees up the remaining ports on the laptop. The white color is good to help locate it inside a dark gig bag.

I purchased a new laptop with limited USB ports, so the Best Buy employee encouraged me to purchase this hub. It allows me to easily transfer pictures from my camera's SD card and also has an ethernet port and 2 more USB ports. The only negatives so far are its short cord and that it was fairly hard to get it into the port on my laptop, but it's done the job so far. I also wish all of the ports were on the side facing me when it is plugged in; the SD card reader is on the back.
