Works great with some help
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was worried about this working but, for the price, i decided to give it a try. I followed the suggestions in other reviews and it worked great. It did tell me the driver was not installed, i went to the update window in settings and "viewed optional updates" told it to download and install and now it works just as it should.

It works, sometimes.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure if it's my older computer or the adapter, but I cannot keep a reliable connection for very long. The adapter's drivers frequently stop working, and I lose connection to paired Bluetooth devices. However, when it works, the adapter is excellent. Unfortunately, I reverted to wired headphones, instead of my wireless set, for all of my computer gaming.

THIS *DOES* WORK ON WINDOWS 7. Follow these steps!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A "NerdyGirl" posted, this DOES work with Windows 7 EVEN THOUGH THE PACKAGING SAYS IT DOESN'T. I am an industrial engineer and I am using this on my personal Xeon workstation. This is FANTASTIC news if you can't stand or hate Windows 10. You just need to download the proper Windows 7 compatible Bluetooth driver. You can get the driver on this page: https://www.driverscape.com/download/bcm20702a0 The direct download link is: https://www.driverscape.com/files/2015/Bluetooth/broadcom_bluetooth_12_0_0_9980.zip I have also uploaded the driver to my FTP in case the above links stop working in the future: http://sdfox7.com/bluetooth/win7/broadcom_bluetooth_12_0_0_9980.zip

Replaces broken onboard bluetooth
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very happy with my purchase of this item. It has allowed me to use my bluetooth ear buds with my pc. For some reason the bluetooth built into my pc will allow connection but the audio was only heard when I put the earbuds about an inch from the keyboard of my laptop, around the 7 key. I asked a Best Buy associate about this and he stated something might be wrong with the chip and to try this adapter. It took me awhile to get it to work because I didn't realize that I needed to go in to device manager and disable the bluetooth inside the pc. But once I got that figured out, it works great. I really like that it is small and fits right next to the adapter for my mouse. I can just leave it in and it is not in the way when using or moving my laptop around.

Pretty good adapter if you can get It working
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had trouble finding the drivers for it and ended up using broadcom drivers. It works pretty well once you have it set up! When I contacted customer support about how I couldn't find the drivers and the customer support guy tried to sell me geek squad support. All I was asking for was the url!

driver is hidden in windows update
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Plug the dongle in first. If Windows can see the device but cannot find the driver for it, do this: Start > settings > update & security > windows update > view optional updates > driver updates > "Broadcom Corporation driver update for Micro size usb to Bluetooth Dongle"

Q: QuestionWhat is the driver supposed to be used?
Asked by Hank.
- A:Answer See also NerdyGirl's answer. The driver can be found on http://www.driverscape.com You want the driver for a device named BCM20702A0. The following link worked better for me to get to this driver package: http://www.driverscape.com/download/bcm20702a0. I downloaded this zip file: Driver Version: 12.0.0.9980 Release Date: 2014-09-25 File Size: 171.98M Supported OS: Windows 10 32 & 64bit, Windows 8.1 32 & 64bit, Windows 7 32 & 64bit, Windows Vista 32 & 64bit, Windows XP NerdyGirl is right -- the Setup.exe file in this package doesn't work, at least for my Windows 7 machine. I followed NerdyGirl's tip about manually updating the driver. Here's how: Download the zip file. Extract the driver package in the zip file. Remember where the driver package is on your computer. Go to Start: Control Panel: Device Manager. Look in the Other Devices list in Device Manager for a device named BCM20702A0. Right click on that name. Click on Update Driver Software. Choose Browse My Computer for Driver Software. Find the driver package. Choose the Win32 folder or the Win64 folder depending on what operating system is running on your computer. If you get a warning message that the driver can't be verified, click Yes to install the driver anyway. The driver install went fine for me after that. After installation, you'll see a new Bluetooth Radios category in the Device Manager. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionWhere can I get windows 7 driver software, It's not listed in link that came with instructions
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This uses the same chipset (Broadcom) as the ASUS Bluetooth adapter. Their driver will work for this and can be found at: https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/USBBT400/HelpDesk_Download/

Q: QuestionI can't connect this to my computer. There seem to be no drivers available online. it says to install from the dongle but it doesn't work.
Asked by Dave.
- A:Answer Dave, I scoured the internet looking for legacy drivers for this and wasn't able to locate any. There were a few suggestions about trying to find Broadcom drivers for a similar ASUS adapter, but Broadcom took down their public driver resource so even those aren't available anymore. In my opinion, these should no longer be for sale if they're advertising them as Windows 10 compatible. I'm not certain you could get them to work with Windows 7 either anymore. I will be returning mine.

Q: QuestionI want to use this on my TV so I can listen with Bluetooth headphones. How do I make this happen? I was told before I purchased it that this would work. Do I need to plug the adapter into my computer first to download drivers!?? Help!
Asked by Kathy.
- A:Answer That is an EXCELLENT question. First off, it likely already has the necessary drivers installed. That said, it never hurts to see if there are updated ones available. Second, what make & model of a TV do you have? That will ultimately decide if it will even work for you. ***Note: This is only an educated guess. I will test this theory tonight after my wife returns home with my Bluetooth headphones. I will update my responce IF there is an issue. If I don't update, you can safely assume that it worked as expected. Step #1 - With the TV off*, insert adapter into USB port on TV. Step #2 - Turn on the TV and allow it a moment to install or recognize the new device. Step #3 - Open the TV's menu. You may need to access either an input, settings, or setup menu. Look for the device. With any luck, you'll find it and an option to search for Bluetooth devices to connect to. Step #4 - Make sure the headphones are in pairing mode. On the TV, start the search for devices, find your headphones, then select and connect! (Do this even if you have used the adapter and headphones together on something else, i.e. - your computer. The adapter is only facilitating the connection.) If all goes well, they should pair and you should be ready to go. [IF this does NOT work on the TV directly, but you have a cable, satellite, Android TV, NVidia Shield, etc. Check the box for USB ports. It MIGHT work that way.] * - It isn't a problem for the TV to be already on. I just suggest this. Good luck!!!!!

Q: QuestionWill I be able to plug this into my laptop PC and use my bluetooth headphones? My PC alone does not have bluetooth capability.
Asked by Patrix360.
- A:Answer Yes just make sure you change your audio output after you connect to your headphones.

Q: Questionis this compatible with tv
Asked by paul.
- A:Answer Doubtful. If a TV does not already support Bluetooth out of the box, installing a driver for a 3rd party dongle is unlikely.

Q: QuestionI have Sony MDR XB950N1 Wireless headphones and a wireless mouse as well, Can these both work simultaneously with this adapter?
Asked by Jay.
- A:Answer While I don't have those specific peripherals, I couldn't even get an Insignia brand headphones to pair with the Insignia Bluetooth dongle. So if it can't even pair with same brand headphones, then I highly doubt yours will. I can only seem to get cell phones to pair with it and nothing else whatsoever.

Q: QuestionCan you use this to connect your Bluetooth headset to your ps4?(I’m asking because not all headsets are compatible and I’m wondering if this will make them via usb )
Asked by Pay.
- A:Answer This device needs the drivers installed to function properly. So no it will not work with a PS4 if you plug it in.
