    Works great, but.....

Once properly synced and installed product works very well, will great sound quality and no lag, but the instructions could have made getting to that point so much easier. Here's the part the instructions fail to mention...simply plug the audio jacks into the the audio output on the back of your cable provider set-top box and mute the TV....Voila!!! Instead the instructions show a diagram of plugging the included audio jacks directly into the TV via in the audio out ports on the TV (which my TV didn't have) or into the RCA speaker port (which mine did have) with the RCA adapter that comes with the headphones. When I tried following the instructions, not only was the sound quality horrible on the headphones, but I couldn't mute the TV which defeats the whole purpose of owning these. After using a little common sense I figured that the audio is coming directly from the set-top box so the audio out on the STB was where the connection needed to be made. Hopefully this advice saves any would-be-purchasers the frustration and Best Buy a returned item. They work as advertised now and I'm very happy I have them (They are very comfortable as well!)

Purchased the Insignia™ - Over-the-Ear Wireless Headphones Model: NS-WHP314SKU :4219008 Pros 1- Comes with 3.5mm cord, USB cable, charger and easy to understand Owner's manual. 2- Easy to connect to the back of the TV. 3- Good stereo sound. 4- The headphone is comfortable, cushioned and adjustable. Cons 1- Static and Sound comes in and out 2- Walk approximately 7 feet to kitchen and 11 feet to the bathroom same static and in and out sound. 3- Call Insignia and they said that wasn't normal to take them to Geek Squad, as I wait customer service approached me and asked what was I needing with Geek Squad... oook, I told her what Insignia told me; she said go and change them, there is nothing Geek Squad is going to able to do about static...OK! I changed them. Same static and the in and out sound was worse. Would I recommend? I don't know, probably. I read the reviews and it seems no one had the same problem I had, therefore, buy them and check for yourself. I don't have a photo to add so the description is at the beginning of this review. Going to change them tomorrow.

Bought these so my wife and I could watch TV while the grand baby sleeps. I have a Denon Sound Bar and have to turn it up too high to hear it and dont want to wake the baby. Had to do some conversion to make it work properly with my TV (Samsung 65 Plasma). TV has only an optical (Toslink) output for the audio and the headphones will only take analog in. Bought a Digital Audio to Analog Audio converter from Radio Shack to fix this problem. Works great. My next bump was fixing it so that I did not have to unplug the Fiber from my Denon Sound Bar to plug into the converter to use the headphones. That was solved by purchasing a optical splitter from Best Buy web site. (Marketplace Vendor). I bought two of these headphones for my wife and I and was very impressed with the sound quality. We find ourselves using the headphones more than the sound bar. Each unit has an analog input and analog output so you can daisy chain multiple units. I am planning on purchasing 2 more unit so when we have company they can share in the great sound these headphones provide. One more note, I did not notice and degregation in the sound quality using the splitter and converter. Actually because the sound is focused directly into the ear I heard more of the audio that I could with the sound bar and much crisper.

Not a comfortable fit for tv watching in bed!

I purchased these headphones so I could lie in bed and watch tv but not keep my bed partner awake. Right from the beginning, they gave me problems. They were so tight on my head, they gave me a headache. Adjusting the headset did nothing to loosen the tension. Also, when I tried to lie back, the ear cups would push on the backs of my ears, creating even more pain. The whole point of my wanting these headphones was to watch tv in bed, so if I can't do that, what good are they to me? In addition, the charging station, which appears simple at first, is not that easy to use. The headpiece has to lay a specific way in order to plug into a multi-pronged socket on the base. In the dark, it is nearly impossible to get the earpiece to align with the prong, and it is not easy to tell that it didn't connect unless you turn the lights on! Otherwise, the next night, the headphones are dead! I will say that the sound was very crisp and clear, as advertised, and I walked all around my house (1500 sq ft) without losing a signal or suffering static. Still, I returned them and bought a more expensive Sony headset and they hiss and crackle constantly, just 3 feet away! I will be returning those, too! They totally suck!

Very Poor Sound, Great Connection Quality

Was looking to update my RCA wireless headphones as thier connection is not all that great (900mhz). Came upon these Insignias in a One-day sale. Decided to go for it as I had been eyeing them for some time. Connected everything and tested them. The connection was great as no interference was detected. HOWEVER... the speaker quality was unacceptable. No sense of highs, or lows, and just NOT quality sound. There was no sound quality adjustment available on the headphones. I even fiddled with my receiver to see if something was wrong there. Sound is about the quality you would find in a $5 pair of wired headphones from the drug store. For the price I paid, I found the sound quality to be unacceptable, and I actually went back to my RCA headphones even with the connection issues. I had to return the Insignia headphones. Later on i purchased the Sennheiser RS160 headphones from BB. These are now my favorite as they have excellent sound quality, excellent connection, and great build quality. I recommend anyone looking for wireless headphones for TV, Movies, etc. go straight to the Sennheiser models. Yes, they are more expensive but I believe you will be happy for years with Sennheiser products.

    Not Good

Searching for good value wireless headphones to primarily use with my LED television is harder than it sounds. Most LED TV's don't work with Bluetooth headphones while at the same no longer have headphone jacks. This leaves our options limited. I previously used my old pair of Sennheiser HD 497 headphones with my old Vizio 42 (which had a headphone jack) and the sound quality was superb. Now I have a new 50'' Samsung TV with these new digital headphones and yet somehow the sound quality is 10x worse. It's like our standard of quality is moving in reverse direction. While the build seems good, the resulting sound is something you would get from drug store headphones for $10. There is absolutely no bass, the dialogue and music sound like they're in the distance instead of surrounding you, and unless you have it connected to an external receiver (which most probably don't), you have no way to make any sound adjustments. This leaves me still on the hunt to get a good pair of open air wireless headphones with decent sound quality. For $90, I really expected better.

    A quality set and transmitter.

My wife has major hearing loss, and mine is moderate. So we went looking for an amplified headset for her. This one fit the bill perfectly. It was cost effective, and easy to hook up. It is totally wireless, and she can turn her volume up without changing the volume on the television. The RCA hook up was simple. I do have the TV mounted on the wall, with two RCA Y_R_W cables making a loop so the DVD Player/recorder is routed through the TV. The cables go through the wall behind the TV, and back out at the desk the TV sits on. It took a few minutes to figure out which red/white cables went where, but once they were all connected, it worked like charm. Now she can watch and HEAR what is happening, without deafening me. This is a great set, and was just what we needed. Also, NO batteries! It comes with a charging station atop the transmitter. Good Deal!

Because I generally use this headset in a direct line from the TV (15-20 feet), it meets my needs fairly well. However, I notice that when I go into a couple of rooms that have very thick walls that I think are made of cement (or at least it seems that way because they are insanely difficult to drill through!), the headset cuts in and out about halfway into each room. The range says 50 feet and I am experiencing about 1/2 that but then again, it meets the majority of my needs. It also starts to hurt my head after having them on for over 2 hours but I may just have a very tender head. At that point, I just rest the headset around my neck and turn the volume up so that I can hear it. I only paid $60 for the headset rather than the original $90, so for that price I can't complain (the only other option was a Sony headset with a 150 feet range but it was $120 and I didn't want to spend that much).
